I've only really known about KY since the PS3 and GT:HD..

And for me, he's just another developer, lots of talk, but nothing of real substance..

To me it feels like he's trading on his past successes, and now living it up doing motorsport events, car shows and infact anything but actually finishing the game we've all expected for 5 years..

I also don't subscribe to his vision and perfectionism being so lauded..
Apart from the 'cars' being graphically obsessed over, everything else seems to have been ignored..
Skid marks, Tyre noises, Engine Noises, Poor AI, Wall riding object physics, and even damage (admitted this is only in because of customer pressure)..
I think his vision is quite narrow and unbalanced, perfection in small areas, almost ignores the others..

GT5 is as pointed out, quite unknown at this time, lots of carefully vague info about how the game was essentially complete and could be released anytime, where as clearly with subsequent talk about frantically modelling the 1000 cars, and the limited nature of some feature shown so far, with a very odd TT demo being quite disjointed to the games public demo's, it doesn't all add up at all..

Basically, for me, GT5 will be the game I judge him by, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until it's released, but the above is my current feelings on the question..

With the pressure from Forza, I have a feeling Kaz is super motivated to remain king of the racing-sim genre. We will see if he delivers.

I bet he does. He's never let us down before and we are getting GT5 from a slightly different Kaz than before.

Kaz, the part time racer.

Yeah the 'Father of Gran Turismo'.

This man truly is one of a kind. I think the people who say "hurry up and release the damn game already" are selfish and do not think about the weight on Kaz's shoulders. I think he's very smart, and unlike other video game developers he isn't doing it for the money or because he needs a job. Instead, he does it because he is passionate about cars and knows that every single person who buys his product wants to enjoy it.

So it's made with perfection and knowledge. I really think he's a genuine bloke and if at any point he seems arrogant or not wanting to answer questions.. it could be because he's jet lagged, or the interviewer is asking questions he or she shouldn't be asking, or have asked with the wrong approach. How would you feel if you had 50 people ask you the same question week in week out? As the saying goes; "Good things come to those who wait".

What this man has done not only for video game players but for car fanatics the world over simply cannot be put into words. Life in the video game industry would be dull and boring without Gran Turismo. If it weren't for Kazunori Yamauchi I probably wouldn't own a PS2, or PS3. He should give him and his team over at Polyphony Digital a huge, huge pat on the back for job well done.

No Gran Turismo, no Forza Motorsport.

I've undoubtedly heard him utter a few words in English in a Nurburgring race speaking with his co driver. He can definitely speak proper English.

Watashi mo arrigato gosaimasu Kazunori San !!!!

A.i.s.h.i.t.e.r.u GT5 !!!
Merci pour la date, et merci pour le travail. :)

Kaz Goes HARD, period. He gets it in.

Producing GT, racing, designing cars, judging prestigious auto shows, sitting at tables with big heads like Newey and Loeb not for autographs but for input. Thats hard as :bleep:, not as in rough and tough, but as in TOUGH, respectable.

Anyone who says aw this isnt anything new isnt anything grand, bring me ONE game just one, with 1000 whips 60+ amazingly modelled courses , course maker with 100's of 1000's of possibilities, Grip racing, drifting, tarmac gravel and snow point to point rallying\rallycross, karting, NASCAR, B-spec from any Browser, time and weather transitions rugged online mode photo travel with the best driving physics on a console, straight out the box no mods no dlc no alterations.

The only one you can bring is GT5.

Im not into making GT out to be the best game, im into playing the best games, and time after time GT is the best game for anyone who loves cars period, not racing not drifting not crashing, just cars, from 2CVs to X1s.

This is it we are home.

I don't know! But I like the sound of GT in heaven 👍

I wonder if our B-Spec Boberts will have limited lives, retire and one day go to GT heaven where the GT Auto boys will have clipboard wings playing radiator belt harps.

 oh so

i really do believe that Kaz put all his time and effort (and maybe his own money) into GT5 because it looks like he didnt even have time to go to the dentist

Let's work this through mathematically, logically, and rationally:

IF this is true:
Kaz is god.

Then it would make sense that GT is in heaven...
I don't know! But I like the sound of GT in heaven 👍

Therefore, fear not my friend, take that bullet then enjoy! 👍
I'd take a bullet for him... and try not to die :)

Absolutely agree with you man! 👍

I look up to Kaz. I wish I was more like him in that he sets his standard so high, he strives for perfection where perfection isn't possible. This man might die and still think that his work could've used some refining there and there. Also, despite what some people might think, I know that this guy doesn't do all that he does for the money, he has a legitimate passion for cars and for what he does, and thanks to that, and thanks to his quirks and often silent character we get games of such quality as we do.

Gaming is and has been very important for me in my life. I can say that GT has changed my life and it has helped me broaden the maybe smaller passion I have for cars and motorsports myself.

Kaz is my hero! He is an example of dedication and perseverance, Honesty, and Integrity!

Having said that, i am a Goat who loves Milk 👍 especially milk coming from those things pictured in the link of my signature :p

I don't know about you, but my b-spec Bob's going straight to hell. So will b-spec Vettel if he crashes in a F2007 or the Red Bull X1 or anything expensive.

Maybe he's quite comfortable with himself. I love the fact that he smokes, drives fast cars and don't give a **** (insert your choice of vulgar slang) about how he looks.

Kaz along with the PD staff are legends - they sacrifice half of their lives to bring us Gran Turismo, they work hectic hours and sometimes sleep under their tables such is their dedication to bring this to us.

About the GT5 delay - the main cause was the early decision to go full out on the modelling front - a bold decision, because of the time it took, but one that will set GT apart for years to come. If they had'nt took the decision we would currently have Forza 3 type modelling, which is very good, but after seeing GT5's screenshots, i definetly prefer that.

Alot of the frustration that is directed towards Kaz and PD from forum members etc, comes, if you really think about it, from the frustration felt from the agonising wait for the next series of GT. So if you really think about it, that frustration comes from a weakness within the complainer - everyones human and i think Kaz and company will understand why bad things are said sometimes.

If anyone is old enough to remember playing the first Test Drive game on pc, you'll remember how we wished there was a game that could bring a simulation type driving experience to gaming. It seemed very far away.

Many years later, after over 10 years of work, i believe it is here.

Kaz will have the honour of being remembered for doing something great long after he has gone - it is what every person wishes for.

Thank you Kaz & PD for the hard work, we appreciate it:tup:
