I never said I was perfect, but thanks for setting me straight again. There is a PS2 game out that features those big trucks, but I don't think the public perceived it as a good game. Even though the speeds of those trucks aren't like an Formula One or a Le Mans prototype, they can still be fun. It is quite a unique style of racing. Though here in America, big riggers are mostly seen carrying stuff across America and stuff. Maybe you seen one of those trucks push some cars to refire (like in oval racing).

To me, if you can't have trucks from CORR, SCORE, or Procar Brute Ute, those big rigs would be a nice pickup (no pun intended) for a GT game. Sure, they aren't Le Mans prototypes, but they are fun racers. Watching one of those MAN or Mercedes-Benz trucks race around is fun to say the least. Think of them as pure race cars going at speeds of club racers. I know that's a weird analogy, but that's what it seems like.

I remember reading an article about 10-12 years ago, maybe more, in Autosport (the bible) magazine about a test drive of one of those racing trucks around Brands Hatch's short 'Indy' circuit. The truck lapped faster than one of the contemporary BMW M3 Touring Cars! - Those M3's didn't hang around, and were much more suited to that tight little circuit. So those trucks can really move!

Hmmm... them two links don't seem to work... nor when I copy & paste them into a browser...

Greyout has some rather interesting big rigs. I like the ones that race in Europe and Brazil, though. American rigs are pretty mean, and your pictures look like some good old-fashioned American big rig power. The European-type trucks seem to be stylish and pretty cool looking. I downloaded one for one of my computer games, Sports Car GT, and I think the main problem with putting in those big rigs would be too big due to so many polygons to put in.

But still, it would be fun as an all Mini Cooper race.

We had a form of big rigs run at our local 1/3 oval about 8 years ago.The crowd loved it.

I'd like to quickly comment on the big truck pictures from page 3. I noted something different about the European trucks and the Brazlian ones. The Brazilian trucks appear to be lower to the ground than the European ones. I kind of like the Brazlian rigs a little better because of their racy look. Since they are lower to the ground and look a little more racy, I'll have to say that the Brazilian trucks look better, speaking as a fan that thinks anything on four or more wheels on a race track is cool.

I know we have that STRANA (Super Truck Racing Association of North America) series here in America as sanctioned by IMSA (am I right?), but it would be nice to see those big rig trucks race here in the States. I mean, have them race Road Atlanta, Road America, or maybe even Lime Rock Park. Would like to see the MANs, Volvos, Continentals, and others race. Or perchanse, the rigs down in Sudamerica ("South America" en Español) can come challenge here in NORTH America. It would still be nice to see them race.

Bring them all on! Any more truck talk?

I can't believe not a single person in this thread has mentioned one of the fastest, and most desirable sport utes of current times....

The BMW X5 LeMans (V12 powerplant)

That's not a ute, and since when do BMW make a 'Le Mans' version of an X5? If it was 'Dakar' I could understand, but LM?

Cosmic
Nah, too big?

What are you talking about, that's just an RC car and a midget ;)

Hmm...

I was working on the basis the X5 has actually contested the Dakar, as opposed to Le Mans. Throwing the V12 from the LMR into it is an interesting concept.

'Ute' apparently has a distinctly different definition here.

Ute is short for utility... So Sports Ute', means Sports Utility Vehicle....

What does it mean, where you live?...

That's pretty funny considering the acronym in your link you supplied callied this 'SUV' an 'SAV.'

Are you talking to me?... So there was a typo.... What's your point?.... I didn't write it... All the rest of the information is correct....

Would you like a different link, without typo's?...
