Not sure if you guys have heard of the term Kei class car, well they are small boxy Japanese imports like the Suzuki Alto Works and Daihatsu as seen in GT3. I was just reading in one of my import mags and they had a special on these cars and I thought that it would great to have a special class of these vehicles in GT4 with a proper racing series and the cars to match.

Some of the Kei vehicles mentioned and or could be used in GT4:

1987 Suzuki CC72V
1989 Suzuki CM11V
Suzuki Every/Carry
Sukuki Carry Mini Truck
Cervo(Modified Alto Works)
1987-1991 Suzuki Jimmy
Daihatsu Mira TR-XX
Subaru Rex Combi VX
Mitsubishi Minica Danagan ZZ
Mitsubishi Minica AM1-L
Dahiatsu Midget

Basically all those small Japanese imports you see around the place.
What do you guys think?

I'd like to some of the kei cars if there are tracks suited to their 'speed'. Tracks like Autumn ring mini (from GT1) for example.

You forgot the Mazda Demio, you bastard! :D

The Mazda Demio is not in the Kei class. Kei class cars have 800 cc engines. The Demio has a huge 1.3 or 1.5 engine. But yes you could enter the Demio in the Kei class races in GT2 but not in the GT3 races.

1.3 or 1.5 ltr. engine, huge?

Well, that sucks. I love that Mazda Demio A-Spec from GT2. It was the best sounding car in the game, too.

The Demio A spec was a great car in GT2 and GT1. From memory I think the A spec was faster in GT1 than GT2.
Lets hope they put an A spec version in GT4. This car in GT2 could beat a lot more fancier cars.

What crappy because they have hardly any power? The game isn't just about high-performance cars, its about cars in general.

@Rocket - Damm who could forget the Autozam AZ-11, I love that car in GT2 so sorry I was only listing them from the top of my head.

And don´t forget the Suzuki Capuccino, which is -I believe- the only FR Kei car (it is already included in GT4P).

These cars are very fun to drive, if races are held on small and twisty tracks. I welcome the addition of Keis to GT4!!

I fondly remember driving the Demio Kei car in GT1, which could be driven on 2 wheels at a very high angle (but never rollover!!).

And also the mid-engined Honda Beat and the cute Daihatsu Copen.

:dunce:

Those good old days!

I can still remember modding that car to the "n"th degree and try to tip it over!

silly me!

Does the Austin Mini classify as a Kei car? That is one slow car that is hella fun to drive, especially on rally stages.

The Suzuki Cappucino sounds fun, havent driven it on GT2 yet.

Nah minis are quite zippy cars dunno if they count as Kei class.

Hmm, Id hope they would be, those are fun, even with the weak motor.

If I remember correctly, the Kei cars are limited by size and engine capacity, something along the lines of 630cc? I think some of the early Austin Mini were under that size.
Im not sure what the size limits of the actual cars are, but Id guess the Mini fits those requirements (this being the early Mini, not the BMW-designed one thats out now).

I dont really pay much attention to the Kei races in GT3, but if the Mini is included in that class in GT4 itd be interesting, especially against that Mazda sportscar. Wasnt that a concept of some kind?
