Ok, here's the challenge. It's really simple and easy.
5 laps and the test course
Choose you best hybrid
post your horsepower
weight
time for each lap and final time
and you max speed on the track if you happen to record it.
Hybrid racers, start you Playstations. You guys have until end of the month (July 31, 2001)
 
ok ill take that challenge but go easy on me im still a newbie at this hybrid thing and like i said 655 mph still isnt fast enough :)  ill see what i can get so far ive only built about 4 hybrids trying to keep them still able to race on the other circuits too so here we go....

Well that's all you're gonna get. YOu don't need your hybrids to do good on any track except the test course. I'm curious about what you got. I'm also a newbie at this, I'm just a fast learner i guess. We can have this challenge again, when you become really advanced and see how much better you did compared to now.
 
now that sounds cool cause my problem is if it doesnt handle then i hawk it :(  but ill show you what i got for now :)  basically i took and made one hybrid then used the body and name codes to make about 20 cars i have noticed one thing that a different car body will make a difference with the car for ex  3000gt lm then put the zzII body on it better aerodynamics well  guess i better start the challenge....
 
Uh, bad news man. My playstation crashed, It was on my shelf right and my sister came running through and caught the cord and it flew down and hit the ground. The lid busted and it don't work.  I need to come up with money for a new one
 
ok ill give it to you i trust ya i know how it is when when they crash whether it is intentional or not so do you want to extend the challenge or hold off till  a later date?  :(
 
My Top Speed was 1151.5mph on the Test Track. My brother got a few mph over 1200mph.

I was using the Escudo w/1,790 HP.

I posted pics of this if noone beleives me. Look under a topic called OVER 1000mph I started in the GT3 Forum.
 
How do you guys race at those speeds.   I just cant comprehend how you would drive on a track and slow down to a reasonably speed to make the corners.  
I guess when you have hybrids you can manipulate the handling too .  
Its just amazing how  you guys do that.

Basicaly, you mess w/downforce, and a  lot of other things like gear ratios, and once you hit 230mph the front of your car lifts up into the air, and youi start accelerating insanely fast. If you check out that thread I started, I tell you exactly how to set up a car like the Escudo to go that fast.


You don't slow down, you go 800-1200mph on the straight part, and you can't see where you're goping so the car smacks into the walls on the corners. Plus, when you have your car set up to fly(lift front wheels off ground)you lose most control over steering.

I learneed how to go this fast from a game magazine called tips & tricks. I didn't beleive it, but it really works...

Max speed: 369mph

Not bad I guess
 
yeah,the test course is so fun.why dont u guys tune your cars to run on a track where speed is an advantage,not a non turning non stopping nightmare.youll never run that speed on any track forwards you guys are truly dim.and even if you get that speed,do u really enjoy going in a circle?
 
well tobias i tune my cars for laguna seca or even seattle circuit speed comes in after i already set the car for those tracks 655 isnt fast enough the whole game isnt fast enough i have the computer ai  beat by 3/4 of a lap after the first lap on every track anyways thats why i got bored of it quickly and had to start making hybrids to make it fun again :)  :( sorry drifta i didnt gety around to writing down my times for the challenge gt 3 came in and i got wrapped into that :(  you win :)
