Do you use kilometres per hour (km/h) or miles per hour (mph)?
And why? Does it improve your racing technique?
I personally use mph, why?
Because I've always used it and when I do use km/h, it feels strange that the numbers go up faster than usual, because I'm use to mph.

MPH, because im from the US. Though I wouldn't mind using kph, i can mentally convert it into MPH. Actually, I can race without a speedo so it shouldn't matter to me lol.

This sums it up for me heh heh

Marge: Now, I know you haven't liked some of my past suggestions, like switching to the metric system --
Abe: The metric system is the tool of the devil! My car gets forty rods to the hogshead and that's the way I likes it.

I use MPH and lb for video games and KM/H and KG for the real world (the disadvantage of living in Canada!:)) I got used to MPH in GT2 and now my brain is hardwired to that, so no point in changing it!

How can one unit of measure be more accurate than another? lol

It's more precise actually.
It's because km/h has a smaller scale division than mph.

I use mph and kg!

I'm shocked how many Ukers use MPH. I couldnt use Kmh if my life depended on it.

The cars mileage (loosely) is in km and that doesnt bother me cause miles in this game doesnt mean much. But what gets me is that filling the car with fuel is in liters! I never know how much fuel I'm putting it.

MPH since that's the official standard in the UK and it comes naturally to me because of that.

I use mph as thats what we tend to use in the UK. A lot of Europe use kph so they feel more confortable with that.

62mph = 100kph

or

200mph = 320kph

MPH because I am used to it. I normally judge corners in gears and revs (say 4th gear 3000rpm) but sometimes I just use speed to judge.

It is a gripe for me that you can change the settings to imperial for game settings but the in car dash still reads KPH I use MPH for referance in corner speed. I would love to see the sector time change color if you improve or go slower too.

MPH.
I wish the US would go to the metric system, imperial seems so stupid to me. I like using metric better with school work (physics, etc) but I'm so used to imperial. It's easier for me to visualize 30mph than 10m/s.

KPH, because I'm Australian, and Australian's are better than everyone who doesn't use KPH.

/sarcasm

But yes, I do use KPH, because that's what I drive with.

Being born and raised on km/h I have to drive in km/h or it messes up my cornering. It's how I judge how well I was able to take a corner is by what my lowest speed was through a corner. When I'm driving in mph I end up entering corners at the wrong speeds all the time because I'm mentally thinking about what speed to shoot for in corners, moreso than what gear to be in.

We use kph here in Barbados but I use mph in GT5. I think it's because from the time I started playing racing games I always used mph so I just stuck with it.

Mathematics.

In case anyone is wondering, do the following thought experiment: imagine the speeds shown in km/s instead (with the same number of significant digits as now) -- the speedometer would show 0 constantly, and you would know nothing about your actual speed.
