One unit of measurement is no more accurate than the other.
One unit of measurement may be more precise.

Some people here need to learn the difference between accuracy and precision

Exactly. This thread has been so stupid lol.

Yes, but in just normal speak people use 'accurate'

it's just the way we speak.

But it isn't more accurate. It isn't wrong because of mph but it is more precise when given in Km/h because a Km is smaller than a mile.

Mph all the way.

I don't care that it's not as representative of your actual speed as km/h is, but it's the one I understand.
Km/h is... I dunno.... I think the problem is that it's too big.
Why say 321.868 km/h when you're in fact doing 200 mph? I don't know exactly what it is, but to me mph just makes more sense.
Sure, km/h is much more representative, as it properly shows how much distance you're covering in a certain time in a more easy and useful way, but... it means nothing to me :)

Miles per hour, horsepower, and pound-foot.

I was born in the United States, raised in the United States, and learned what was taught in the United States. So that's what I use.

I use the metric system (based on the size of our planet, you can't beat that). But being part of an international community obliged me to establish another set of references.

Watching Top Gear (or the other show) and guides on Youtube is easier when you can react like an "imperialist" to any given figure. The guy hitting the apex at 62 Mph is no less impressive than the one reaching it at 100 Kmh.

The only mystery here is why the US kept the imperial measurement system when they fought so hard to kick the British Empire out of their land.

I'm shocked how many Ukers use MPH. I couldnt use Kmh if my life depended on it.

The cars mileage (loosely) is in km and that doesnt bother me cause miles in this game doesnt mean much. But what gets me is that filling the car with fuel is in liters! I never know how much fuel I'm putting it.
3.785411784 liters = 1 US Gallon

... or just divide by 4 for an easy, rough estimate ...

I use km/h because I live in Canada. I would like weight to be measured in pounds, as that's our common weight measurement (Canada's weird w/ standards), but it's easy to multiply by 2.2 to convert.

I use KM/H, but there's no advantage to using either mph or kmh contrary to what OP asked, as they're just units for speed... use whatever you normally use.

MPH as it's the UK standard. Although I do like how a cars acceleration is measured from 0-100 KPH since it's a nicer, rounder number than 60/62.

I can race without a speedo...

Well that's good, I know some people who gotta have that thing on at all times, rather disturbing. :P

Anyway, I use MPH as I'm from the US, it really only matters what you're familiar with really.

Well technically km/h is only more accurate if there's a digital display, and only if that display doesn't show decimals. If you are going off the analog meter its not going to make much of a difference.

I feel like I'm missing out on a sense of drama by not using km/h. 200 km/h sounds more accurate at describing the intensity of going 124 mph.

I'm also curious at what km/h do the "holy ****" milestones kick in. What I mean by that, is even though people may be going the same speed, people who solely use different units may get that feeling "oh **** I just realized how fast I was actually going" at different times. Like in real life I may not feel that until like 85 mph on a highway, but on a metric speedo it would be 136, and maybe they would feel the same way at 130 or 140. I hope I made some sense.

That's like saying your shocked because there are other people in this world that aren't UK/American

----

AND YES KM/H is more accurate because of THE LACK OF DECIMAL POINTS!

So.

We generally agree that 1mi = 1.6km

So if the Car was travelling at 160km/h

it would be 100mph

right

but if the car was travelling at 161km/h

the speedo would read 100 mph

thus km/h being more accurate in the context of GT.

Hope this settles the argument

That doesn't prove anything. You can easily turn that around. Lets say you are going 'exactly' 101 mph
101 mph = 162.54 kph, but the kph speedo would only read 162.
