It got a lot better after the reboot, but Knight to King's Pawn sucked big time. All of the dramatic build-up for what? In total, KARR was in the entire for 3 minutes, tops.

Not to mention Peter Cullen somehow couldn't differentiate between KARR and Optimus Prime this time around.

Despite all of that, I watched every week with a smile on my face because KR was back, it might have been rocky at first but it got better and it eventually grew on me; I hope all of the air-time it's getting in other countries gets another season. 👍

Racecar: in 1982 (when the original aired), that wasn't the epitome of suck, and neither was the Hoff. that was one of our family sit down and watch programs (along with the A-team). remember, the Original Knight Rider was created in and for an era in which Generation X were kids and teenagers, and baby-boomers still had color in their hair.

I've seen episodes of the current Knight Rider, and they're almost trying too hard (it reminds me of the current crop of action Sci-Fi that's coming out of britan, like the updated Dr. Who and its spinoff, Torchwood, that we get.

again, I'd like to remind you people that diffferent shows are written for different generations. cell phones were still for rich people, and CD players were just being invented when this came out.

Ahh cool. Loved that Pontiac Firebird. They had a bit of front overhang, but they still had an appeal.
We didn't get to see them much over here(AUS) Burt Reynolds made them popular in the "Smokey and the Bandits" series, so it was good to see them(Transam/ Firebirds)with a new model.

I mean the new series. I love the original Knight Rider but I hate the new one, which is why I call it "Crap"

I was going to vote both after listen to the first 15 seconds of the new one both then it turn to crap, so I'll vote for the original. It ranks up there with Gilligan's Island for theme songs I'll never forget.

I'd also like to add that I've actually sat in KITT and talked to him at the 1988 World Expo in QLD.....mind you I was only 9yrs old at the time, but it was still the best experience. 👍
