La Sarthe and Spa ,weather report and other " stuff "

I'm a bit bored at the moment, so I was playing around with some swapped cars lately to see how they do here.
And one that really flashed me is the HiAce!

For the actual race it isn't the best choice, because you just can't do more than 2 laps without refueling.
But damn, that thing is quick! Much faster than you would expect from a car that is under 600PP even on RS tyres! Not to mention that it's a frickin' Van!

Well, I definitely had fun driving this thing around the track🙂

Here are few pics of my first run, I gave it a classic paint job, stuck on race tyres, added the SC, and used the Priano's tune for the Nurb and tweaked it a little for the 30 minute at Le Sarthe. A light rainstorm did not hinder my run and i pocketed the 800k. the Daytona still needs a little more tuning finesse in the suspension as i had some understeer and looking at the photo below it maybe because of the tyre rubbing in inside of wheel wells in the front.

I did exactly the same yesterday...spend the 20mio for my first Shelby Daytona, threw on some racing tires(and a livery) and took it to Sarthe...

Failed on my first attempt(basically stock, medium difficulty as usual) and had no chance to win, added the SC and some other parts(there are not too many parts available for this car...) and had no problems winning...didn't fiddle around with the suspension settings at all, and was quite happy with the handling, I'll keep it like that...wanted to do a 3-2-2 strategy(RM-RS-RS) but I got some rain halfway in lap 5 and it stayed wet almost to the end of the race, so I didn't get a really fast lap with RSs and FM1, but I think it can do sub 4:10' laps, will try it again and see what it can do in a dry race and RS/FM1...

Here is copy of the Priano's tune i started with and modified it slightly to get my best feel for it, did not use wide body nor wide and offset wheels.

Oh and I am always running fuel economy on my races at LeMans. FM6 and catching the slipstream....

For " new " guys ( short of ) who want something blistering and kind of lazy car for grinding there , am posting the Le mans King settings for laps under 50's ( mid 45's -46's ) depending your skills and weather's permission 😂

Note the the particular car has very very glitched tune due to tyres making intermediate tyres have way more pp than RH in many cases .

Because is in my language the car has .

Racing gear box adjusted only at 330khm and the High rpm turbo .

Under that settings and at FM4 ,can do 3 laps ( the lazy i mention above ) so you need 2 stops.
It's very forgiving in tyres so you don't have to change them ( RH ) at first stop if its dry .

I think i have and a faster one but works only in MT gears in order to achieve 3 laps stint.

The king is back ?
Actually he never leave , we just forget him 😂

Hope new in griding guys , to enjoy it .

Getting back into a bit of the Le man grind on a different account, no game share on PS5 boo Sony. Rediscovered a fun group of cars, the modern Gr2's, 2016 and newer. In the current physics sandbox they barely fit under 700pp with RH and max detuned so they end up right around 300 hp with a lot of down force. Low top speed but amazing brakes, corner speed and fuel economy, 5 laps FM1 on MT. Makes for fun back and forth racing, not always a guaranteed win but fun.

I just got back to the Le Mans grind again, just doing the opposite...tuning road cars with inferior fuel milage, that struggle to get 3 laps on FM6...and comparing them to cars I am used to...

Here is one thing, i dont't get:
The swapped De Lorean with the same swapped engine as the Amuse 380RS is ruling that race,300km/h on FM6 no problem, the Amuse(same swapped engine, both withe racing transmission set to 270. same weight, almost same HP) hardly makes 290 on FM1.needing lozs of lift'n'coast to even get 3 laps on FM6...that can be challenging, as long it stays dry...

You need tain from the start 🤣 .
"rain". I'm not sure that will help anymore because of what I saw today for the first time. A little context, I've done this race hundreds of times and have a pretty good handle on AI behaviors. Historically on EASY if it rained enough to need rain tires the race was guaranteed to be 6 laps, the AI was incapable of forcing a lap 7. That's not the case anymore, a 7 lap wet race is rare but I've seen it several times. The new behavior relates to the Viper and I saw it twice today. Again historically the Viper does a 3-3-1 pit strategy, a monsoon can change the middle pits but he ALWAYS does a 3 lap first stint as did all the other 1 and 2 stop cars. This fact was the key to goofy ultra low HP and PP shenanigans, because weather and the stupidity of the AI was the only way to win. The perfect storm is a moderate to heavy system moving in towards the end of lap 2 , the 3 lap cars ignore it and keep going, the 2 lappers don't realize how wet it's getting and stay on slicks leading to carnage on lap 3 , until now. I don't know if this a 1.59 thing but I've never seen it before... The Viper diving into the pits on lap 2 to put on wets! The weather was obvious on radar but there was barely anything on the rain gauge! No one else changed tires and laps 3 and 4 were wet so the Viper just blitzed the field. I figured it must be an anomaly but I saw the exact same thing an hour later, only this time several of the back markers also dove in for IM even though the rain gauge was less than a third. I've never seen this before but maybe it's just me.

I gave the Suzuki Carry a try, everything maxed 151hp and 1376 lb, decent power to weight ratio should have a chance. Nope for a few reasons. It's way too drag limited, Cd of a brick, top speed downhill down wind 125 mph, no tailwind 118 mph and coasting is like tossing out a parachute. Fuel economy not great, it can't no stop on FM1, needs FM5 to 6 lap no stop MT. It actually drives pretty well with minimal tuning and is light enough for IM's to last 6 laps with a little rain.
The main reason I don't think this is possible and RIP many low and slow attempts, the new 1.59 AI "Dumbness Delta". Let me explain, "Dumbness Delta" is the time over 30 minutes for the first AI to finish a 6 lap rain race. For example I looked back at my 99 HP win over a year ago, first AI was 32:28, therefore "Delta" is 2:28. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago and a Delta around 2 minutes was still possible with a lot of rain. Post 1.59 seems very different, granted it's a small sample size, but the largest Delta I've seen is 45 seconds and that was a double monsoon! Post 1.59 on EASY it's been 50/50 that the wet races go 7 laps! The last one I did before writing this, the perfect monsoon end of lap 2, green and yellow covering the radar, perfect! The entire field pits for wets at the end of lap 2! The Supra takes the lead and does a perfect 2-3-2 rain strat, pits for slicks lap 6 and forces a lap 7! On EASY with 3 laps as wet as it gets! The AI is getting smarter my friends and I'm a little scared:)

Just did the new Jag swap and throw it on the race without " touch " the suspension.
With weigh reduction up to two feels like a boat .
DEFINITELY has potential but need " searching " since is also economical on fuels.

Although i made weight reduction up to five and I'll start from there and there's no way to make another swap cause is way expensive 😬
Still Porsche 911 (09) remains faster from the swap fleet but ill see what i can do with this jag.
Tyre wear is a problem with so much weight but didn't test it yet after the heavy diet.

Tried the Jag swap as well today, added most racing tune ups and got full weight reduction, tuned it back to 699PP on RMs and loved it...
Started on RHs with FM2 (and a little FM1 in the first and last lap) I got easy 4 laps, switched to RMs and FM1 to finish..it never felt overtuned and was always in control of its power, perfect breaks, no over- or understeer...

The only negative thing I can say(besides that it is a very expensive swap)about it is that it is so much in control, that it almost feels a little bit boring :...breaking too late: no problem, it holds its line...getting a turn wrong and I have to correct under braking: no problem, it does exactly what I want...rain, and slightly wet track (somewhere in the middle tier):no problem, drives almost as good as in dry conditions

What your average lap times in race ?
My settings doesn't allow me RM tyres but with RH on the max i can pull out is 4 laps and tyre wear start's to be an issue at 4th lap when it's dry .
Am clocking around 3.55's average and penalty free and best can be at 53's depends on errors that caused mostly from late braking 😂 .

Do you mind to share some tunning? I did the swap because I had the XJ9R engine for free as ticket prize, I cannot control the thing when it brakes starts to bump from side to side, I think it´s the LSD

Edit: I forgot to say please 🙏
