Lack of grid starts

it's probably their dusty old server that's been locked in a closet someplace since the inception of the PS3, that churns scripted weekly seasonal events, as well as handles the career mode in game. can't wait to taste GT7 on PS4.

I am wondering if this is something similar to why PD can do reasonably good AI in grid starts for example, RedBull races where it it one make as it is in F1. I know F1 are not identical but they are very similar with similar cornering and driving calculations.

So many makes of different cars in a standard PD race with vastly different looks and characteristics probably causes immense problems for PD.

We will probably find out when they have more RAM in the PS4. If we have poor AI then we can really all complain about it.

To be honest, I think it's more of a design choice by PD more than anything. PD sometimes seems to have strange ideas of what they think makes a game enjoyable.

Oh I know that ;)

If you go back over the past GT's you'll find nearly all of them have exactly the same race series.

FF's , RF's etc, etc. I just wish they would think about it a little more. They keep putting them in the same category ie Beginner, B class etc.

I would love to see some K' class races in the S group where any mistake is punished but NO they are B class and they have been since year dot.

I just hope they do some grids for some new seasonals. We can all hope.

this should be a poll. Send a message to PD. The vote would be overwhelming in favor of grid starts.

I don't care about leading into the first turn. Hopefully that will make pd actually programme a.i that can catch up then.

...I'm not going to take you seriously.
Then don't reply and move on.
That's you and Mike mocking people for wanting grid starts, so put away your victim card and don't act shocked when I give a short, clipped response to what I think is a silly tangent from the OP's original point and, again, what I see as more "PD can do no wrong, so let's call the people wanting the feature whiners/complainers" crap.
Making an observation is not mocking, you might want to recognize the difference. Let's refer to the dictionary on what a complainer is: "express dissatisfaction or annoyance about a state of affairs or an event". Yeah, that fits. Since you want to stay on topic, let's move on.

Did I say PD can do no wrong? No. So stick to factual information. I asked for people to detail why, so that I can see someone else's point of view, that's all. If you don't want to participate in that, have a great day. Your exact quote was, "It doesn't matter if one is more superior or not, that's not the point, man. It's an aspect of RACING. That's your "other side". It should be in the game. End of story." You didn't state that your position was that you wanted to simulate real racing and since it's a part of real racing, you expect it to be in GT6. You stated a fact; that it's in racing, and a want. I can not, and will not read your mind and I can only infer so much. If you simply agreed with Raven, since he made his point very clear and you didn't want to waste your time writing something similar, then simply noting that you agree with it would save you the time. Regardless, thank you for your opinion and I won't waste any more of your valuable time, especially since you don't find me credible.

not to mention the absurdly long VT showing your car rolling towards the start in some races. Some of them are as long as 25 seconds.
PD uses rolling starts in order to 🤬 you off. They know that their AI is a load of rubbish so what do they do? They throw you at the back while giving the car ahead a 10-50 second advantage. The last time I checked real life rolling starts don't give the pole position car anywhere near a 40 second advantage over the car at the back, plus all the cars start accelerating at the same time. And PD knows that they are doing this because I remember the days when GT5 had standing starts even in the offline career mode. It's a conscious decision that they are aware of and they need to change that or I'll stop playing GT.

This is one of the things that bothers me the most, why do i have to watch my car slowly crawl to the start line before i can actually play the game. If they arent going to integrate a grid start system, they should at least fix the current starts.
