This car made an instant impression on me from when I first saw one in the late sixties being badly driven, bumped over a kerb, by a loon panted, silk shirted idiot in London's Carnaby Street - it taught me that having lots of money and a fabulous car doesn't necessarily make you a great driver (or even intelligent)!
The blue car in the OP is a Series 3 model from 1972 or later. The series 1 and 2 cars had the same wheels as the Miura - refer to the picture of the silver car. The series 1 had rather strange octagonal instrument surrounds. The series 2 is my favourite as this had a redesigned interior with round instrument surrounds. It used to be possible to pick up these cars for a song - they were very expensive to maintain and the exhausts used to rot badly and were particularly expensive. I saw a very nice white one recently at a petrol station - the owner had removed the front passenger seat and got the car to pay its way by using it as a wedding car! He told me that exhausts are not a problem on these cars any longer as their are plenty of specialists who can make one off systems to match the originals.
Acceleration on these cars was not particularly fast even by the standards of the day - there was a dogleg change to complete between 1st and 2nd before 60mph so 0-60 took 7.7 seconds - about 2 seconds slower than an Aston Martin from the same period.
