There's a point where loyalty becomes a passion I think, and certain car brands achieve this emotional connection with people more than most. Lamborghini's and Ferrari's are both great cars that can stir you emotionally.

.
Lamborghini has been hiding something from us all. They’ve been making a car based on a plane. Not just any plane, though, it’s modelled on the US Army’s latest toy – the F22 ‘Raptor’.

The car is set to cost $1.6million and be closely inspired by the Raptor, including a grey paint job and a stylised instrument panel.

Lamborghini has vowed to make only 20 cars, half of which are off ‘Stateside and all of which have been spoken for by means of a $300,000 deposit.

The boys from Sant Agata have only commented that they are making a jet-inspired car and that it will be shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show,
they’re keeping their cards close to their chest with the other details.

The F-22 Raptor is a stealth replacement for the current (ish) F-15 fighter plane. Designed by Lockheed, the plane is capable of supersonic cruising and can sneak up on targets practically unseen. In order to make sure it lived up to its stealth capabilities, all its missiles are inside the fuselage.

Having heard about this car, we're wondering whether it's a possible Veyron beater? The current LP640 can crack 0-62mph in 3.5 seconds and do 210mph, all for £192,000 - so what will £800,000 (est) get you?

The limited production run smacks of Enzo, so is it only for current owners? If it isn't, why hasn't the press been told about it?

And yet I've never seen anyone do that at FChat, Lambo-Talk or LamboPower.

Hmm...if they hate Ferrari so much, why do so many own a Ferrari on the side.

 Go on LamboPower's 'Ferrari' section - the vast majority of posts there are anti-Ferrari - they used to have a pinned thread regarding Ferrari owners who they viewed as tools!!

Holy crap, its here!

Wow. This is what the Murc should have looked like from the start...

The Volkswagen Group threw a major shindig in Frankfurt earlier tonight at which it showed off all the new wares its introducing to the public at the Frankfurt show beginning tomorrow. The car that has most assuredly generated the most heavy breathing this evening is the holy-crap-that-thing's-effing-badass Lamborghini Reventon. Named for the bull that killed toreador Felix Guzman in 1943, the Reventon is basically the ultimate Murcielago in all resprects, not the least of which being price. The super-limited (only twenty cars are being built) supercar costs a cool $1,000,000, and all of them are already sold. Power from its V12 is up around 20 horses over the regular Murcielago LP640, so you get a little extra juice for the added dough.

Bottom line - not worth it IMO

THIS IS THE 1 MILLION$ SUPER CAR ALL THE FUSS WAS ABOUT?!?!

so $700,000 MORE than a regular lp640 for this? 20 horsepower and some bodywork jacked from an F-117... This is the first thing ever that Lamborghini has done that I HATE!

cool looking? yes

worth it? hell no

you forgot to mention it only has 20 more horsepower...

For an extra half a million, you get this with an added 20hp.

EDIT: Tree'ed.

its a fair bit more than half a million more than the lp640. Unfortunately this looks like a pretty retarded move on Lambos part, granted they sold all of them and must have made a pretty good profit, but I would rather have the Veyron and I'm not a huge fan of that.

I'm sorry it just kills it for me when I hear they're already spoken for, not that I could afford it in the future anyway. Just saying.

Okay mister smarty photographer Doug, let’s see how long it takes you to get a picture of one of these. :p
worth it? hell no
Nobody buys new Lambos because they’re good value propositions – people buy Lambos because they have a bucketload of money and they want a flashy car. This fits those two criteria quite well. If you can afford a $200,000 car, chances are a $1,000,000 car isn’t going to destroy your savings account.

Knowing him, He might might have it up within the end of the month

agreed, but I'm not talking about a money stand point, but even from that angle, why is someone going to buy a 1.6 million dollar "statement" that doesn't perform as well as other "statements" I understand why the car is here, but I don't understand why it is so expensive. Where is all that money going?

:drool::drool:
Lamborghini: Yes
Cool: Yes
Expensive?: 🤬 Yeah!!!!!

Well the car definitely looks stunning! It could even trumped the SLR and Veyron altogether (in terms of looks anyways....) But i think there's more to the looks than the performance right? I mean if the body is done in carbon-fiber, hand made parts, custom interior, etc, etc, etc....(you know, all that rich people stuff that we just don't need in out car)

A cool $1,000,000 would be nothing for those people who bought it. Cause there's only 20 of them! Makes it even rarer now that we know it.....

The value for money thing really isn't relevant. The exclusivity is what's being paid for here. Is it worth 700 grand more than your "average" LP640? To the 20 people who've already paid, obviously. For the rest? Bah, plebs, who cares what they think anyway?

Edit: Kinda tree'd

That thing, in that shot, looks like the greatest thing ever on 4 wheels.

But $1,000,000 for a car with 680hp and is just really a Murcielago with a bodykit?

Edit: Oh, it's not manual. I wouldn't take it for free.

I just love the look of it. :)

Limited to 20 units or not, the depreciation on that thing will set a new land speed record.

Will the radar gun be able to see this thing? That's what I wanna know...... :D

merged opendriver's thread into this one

DWA
Wheels are interesting.

Now only that, the dial looks futuristic! most probably taken from an airplane ) What on earth is this car supposed to do? Its just to complicated to understand....

Isn't it obvious? It transforms into Megatron.

Well, that's what/who it reminds me of, and the first thing that struck me when I saw it.

It looks like a chubby, pissed off, Murci....and I love it.

Hey, I saw that bodykit in NFS: Carbon!

Liking the MFDs in the dash, though.

Instead of looking like an exotic Italian super car inspired by the great fighting bulls from Italy, it looks like a Japanese transformer toy from the 80's. 👎👎

Heck, even the Vector W8 looked better than this ugly robotic mess.

That is by far the most violent looking car ive ever seen, It basically looks like a ground based F16 and even has the flight cockpit dashboard aswell....... the bodywork bit looks as though your looking at it through smashed glass with so many sharp angles...Those alloys are also amazing!..every bit I just love it!

Absoulety stunning, looks like the dream concept car that would never ever be made... and now it has been!

Price is abit stupid but where are you going to max a Veryon anyway!

Robin

Looks like a Transformer. Awesome.
