Actually online times don't mean everything because of boost, drafts and internet speeds
Online times mean nothing? What are you talking about online times mean everything. The physics are different and those are the times that would be compared to real people your racing online.
Atleast say if it's practice or not 👍
as you know the physics are different online depending on a number of factors, practice mode has no variables which gives your time some validity
kingstang5ohThat was not needed. Leave your ego at the door next time.
Here are a few of my online times.
Audi R8 '01 @ 5.23
Peugeot 905 @ 5,25
Bentley @ 5.32
GT-R R35 TC @5.37
Audi R10 stealth @ 5.41
Merc CLK DTM @ 5.52
Mazda Furai @ 5.54
GT-R R35 stealth @ 5.55
BMW GTR DTM @5.57
All tuned with R/S done with a bunch of friends who do comparable times in free run.
Hey are these times done with a wheel?
I ran a 6:12 in practice mode in the Peugeot 908 last night. Its the first time i completed a lap on it in practice without invaliding. Yes, DS3, I ran sfr and r/s, grip reduction low.
This is for real, no bs.
I understand that our society, men (boys) have to quantify everything.
I love this game, I play it for the pure enjoyment of the gt experience. Different cars, different track, different levels of challenge.
I love this forum, the info, general respect for the individual, the laughs.
But, I hate the elitism that is staring to show up here. If you are a total bada$$, that's great, more than likely, you are just full of it. I could throw quotes up and call out the prime suspects (this thread has quite a few already), but instead, let's let people race how they want, and enjoy the gt experience their own way

I remember pulling a "Sub-8" in GPL in the 1967 GP version of the Nurburgring in a BRM P83 (The one with the 3 litre H 16 engine)
May not sound like much but ultra hard Crossply tyres (They would last 3 Grand Prix before they needed changing) and a track that had far less run off and runing wide was the split second event before the car wrecking crash.
In GT I suppose the "34" test in GT4 when you had to wait for 2 minutes at the start gate... then you had to race the bearsing of an SLR - I left this test way late in the game, As I had heard so many horror stories, but in the end I passed the test first time out - Probably not that great a claim but it was nice notinghaving to endure the Michael Delaney style "wait"
This is the difference.
When i post a thread asking people about their lap times on a driving "simulator" I don't care too see how they "cheated" their way too a better time.
The realistic physics are the best part of GT5, Go play NFS if you can't handle it.
When you bought GT5 did you skip the part where it says "Driving Simulator".
I'm not going to get in to a flame war here, if i offended you maybe I hit a little to close to home.
I have been playing gran turismo since the original. I play with and with out sfr and with all kinds of tires. I usually use the same tires and pp as the other cars in a-spec and seasonal races with sfr off.
Recently, i've been enjoying racing online in my own room with my friends in all kinds of settings. Because of the various levels of skills, the closest racing we've had has been on racing softs and SFR on.
Frankly, I really don't care what game you think i should play, or if your calling it "cheating".
I'm gonna do me, maybe you should do the same.
The title clearly states that you shoul post a time that YOU are proud of.
That beeing said, if I posted that I did a 10 minute lap in an LMP with SRF on, and I was proud of it, the time is as legit as any other time.. SRF or not.
If the rules in the OP said that SRF times are not legit, that would've been enough.
But as it is, any time, in any car, using any aids, that you're proud of is ok.
So I don't see why this SRF discussion is even up.
We all know that the settings used does have huge impact on the times. So just leave it at that. 👍
So your not posting a time Your just here to bring up an old argument that you weren't even a part of.
Anyways it would be cool to see some stock car times from you guys. Maybe if i get enough i will list them in the OP. 👍

Vipers?
Corvettes?
Mclarens?
Ford gt?
etc.
Oh please.. You don't agree or what??
The OP says nothing about SRF.. So why even start a discussion??
I was trying to highlight the OP's intentions (rules) with this thread.
And it was sertainly not the goal to debate the differences between SRF on or off, or any other aids for that matter.. Cause we all know there's a difference.. That's not new..
I posted a time here a few days ago.. I then return here to find arguments that has nothing to do with what the OP is asking for..
And I don't think the argument was that old.. really..
I was'nt a part of it cause I don't think the discussion is of any interest at all.. Hence I was trying to straight things out.. Namely that the OP ask for a lap time around the Nordschleife that you are proud of. Nothing else.
Oh, I better throw in a time as well to make my opinion legit..
