I was just setting up my latest trades and thought to myself, "I can't remember the last time I played just for fun." Are you guys playing for fun anymore, or just to collect items, cars and etc?

i dont know how to explain my answer to this question lol.

{...looks at watch...}...Fun.All the time,everytime...:)

Always play for fun, as it's fun to collect the cars, etc. :)

I can explain this. Your either a gamer or a driver. Gamers just play to beat the game. Exploit holes in the software. Look for cheats. A driver like me has fun every time I turn on GT5. I race a 350z in real life and a shifter kart...so I love driving and have fun with the game every single time. I have fun with it since the first installment og GT1. It never gets old

I like collecting everything in the game, but I also like trying to improve on my times. But FOR FUN? I'm playing the game all over again to get golds and cars on my son's username. Not even messing with the seasonals for money or XP or borrowing cars from any other garages. Just like playing the game for the first time.

Are we playing for fun anymore...that's messed up question. This is game. There are many things I already have to do that isn't fun. Gt5 can be played in many ways, all of which should be fun. Do what you like. There are so many ways to enjoy it.

Race off line, race online. Getting a little bored? Try the Vettel challange. Think you are good? Join Leyba's X1 race series. Tired if that? Try some 500 pp sport tire race. Hey, maybe the car will look better in Top Banana Yellow with silver chrome wheels?

Now lets see...which of my friends are on the new tt leader board...

Today in fact, after my vacation. Turned on GT5, bought myself a Dodge Viper, turned into Jeremy Clarkson, screamed "POOOOOWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRR" and kept the wheels smoking for about half an hour :)

I play for fun and look at my 40.:)

I've never played GT5, or any other game for that matter, for anything but fun. If I don't have fun playing a game then I won't play it, simple as that.

I sort of see where you're coming from with your question. Grinding the seasonals for credits does sometimes feel like work you have to do. I did that to get all the really expensive cars, F2007, F10, Ferrari P4 and Ford Mark IV. Except for the Miura, I have them all, and got them the hard way. Just wanted to have them. Would have been a lot quicker if I didn't check the UCD all the time and blow my money on some gems in there. :)
But I personnally like collecting all the cars and beat my times. And since I started doing all the seasonals again with different cars I'm really getting the fun back. Feeling how all the cars feel differently is great. I think I'm going to play GT5 just like I played GT4: having beaten all that I can be bothered to (did not do all the endurances, no time), I'm collecting cars, try them out, and start filling up all those time charts on the different tracks in Practice mode.

Yesterday I created some custom tracks and just drove. It was awesome. I switched between my TVR Speed 12 and the Premium Audi Wagon.

But that was after I completed my daily trades, swapped some cars set to online and changed my GT5 profile picture.

Now I'm collecting paints, sometimes I make money to buy new cars and drive them... I don't play much A-Spec or B-Spec events (lol) or licenses, but if I can catch a good car from there, I play them. So: It's for fun usually :)

I thought one would always play video games for fun.

I can see the OPs point, but when u dont have fun in a game anymore i quit. I dont see it as grinding, i see it as racing with different ars and setups and trying to beat my time

The next time I play GT-5 "NOT" for fun will be the last time.

I guess I should clear up one point. The game is still fun to me. What I mean is "just" for fun. I think that I'm just so wrapped up in trying to get everything in the game that it is rare that I just play for no other reason than to keep track of what I'm missing and how to get them. Things like keeping track of museum cards became a real task and take quite a bit of time. By the way, is there an easier way to know which cards are the new additions to your list without going through every card?

every time i turn on my ps3, it´s for fun!

i hadn´t had much fun and stopped playing after i completed a-spec. but since the seasonals i´m always thriled because xp and payout are so good. it´s fun to be able to buy so many cars because of the 300-500k for a single race.

still waiting for a european nordschleife seasonal, though :/

This, I'm a driver :) And I don't even have my license yet :p

Answering to the OP, about 20 mins ago with my stock 512BB at the Ring on sport softs, dashboard view no hud, no aids exept abs to 1. 👍

Every time since I got good enough at it to drive consistently. That took a while.
