as you can see the latest events are called A-spec, i think that would be an AI update + B-spec (coming soon)?
(It could be a test to test improved AI) o.O?
on the expert challenge the AI is really better than the AI of 24 min of nurburgring for example.
what you think?

Wait, you mean they made seasonal events that are NOT license test warmed over? You mean I have a reason to play GT6 now? OMG>>>>>>>>>>>>

Oddly the AI at Rome in my race were very - sketchy.

I had a Lotus Esprit wandering all over the track like Schumacher weaving to hold a position at the start of a race.

Then I had a Big Mustang lose the lead, draft my 60's Shelby Mustang... only for it to miss its brake point and carry straight on into the tyre wall shortly after the first split point.

The AI may not be any faster but on this race they seemed much more extroverted in driving style.

Not a super lap - so good news.

I had mentioned this over in the Seasonal Events sub forum... while they may be called A-spec events and it does add to the mileage of the cars that you use, it does not add to the Wins count of the car that you use. Not a huge issue, but one worth noting.

Cheers

Apparently you can run them more than once and win credits?
I ran the Willow Springs race in a 500PP XR7 with SH tires on it, twice I finished second and both times it awarded me around 100k then I swapped to SS tires and took 1st and got around 170k

Thanks for this, really useful. Does it affect your overall win percentage as well, or just the wins for the car you are using??? I'm not so worried if it reduces a percentage for a single car, but i don't want my already rubbish game win percentage getting any lower :p

Just done all the races, were quite fun actually, still easy to getfirst though but what surprised me was the AI was keeping up at a consistent pace, and what surprised me the most was at Suzuka when most AI opponents were either spinning off or braking late, lets hope more races like this come along, along with more challenging AI! #GT

Well I didn't know, so I wrote down the numbers for the #of races, #of wins and total distance from the Main Stats page. The mileage changed but both the race count and the win count did not change what so ever... seems strange to me! But hey, I guess it won't affect your overall percentages after all.

Cheers

I noticed that at Suzuka as well. One car would go off the track, another car would spin at the Casio Triangle and there were several cars battling each other. At Willow Springs, I got around a LF-A Nurburgring but made a slight mistake coming to the bend before the final corner and it flew past me. I went to the inside trying to pass and it was holding tough on the outside.

Wow, 2 different people commenting on the AI behaving less AI-like. Might have to tear myself away from the aggravation of Mario Kart 8 to hook the wheel up this weekend.

Because it's an LFA, it's supposed to be better than everything, especially at that PP level. Had an LFAception on Willow with three of them including one of my own. Surprisingly LFA #1 (Another, less pink Nurb package LFA) managed to keep pace with me throughout, still lost out in the end but put up, especially when I made mistakes. On my other account, it was quite the battle in my LCC Rocket against pretty much the same LFA.

Them LFAs are fighters I tells you.

Great to see actual races for seasonal events. I knew we just needed to wait for GT5 to shut down. Now I'll actually start doing the seasonal events :D

I was at Suzuka and I missed the hairpin braking point and spun, the car behind me weaved out of the way and crashed into the wall

These races were really fun. The last race on Suzuka was especially fun. AI Viper made a mistake and went in to the sand trap and another AI One-77 braked too late and almost crashed on the last S curve. It waited on the side of the road for the cars to pass.

I also think the AI was pretty good in these new seasonals. I've seen them do things that I'd usually only expect in an online race and they kept up with me pretty good once I passed them. I recorded 2 of these great moments I had with the AI at Suzuka with my phone (sorry for bad quality). This AI is definately different than what's in the whole A-spec mode.

At 0:25 you can also see one of them braking way too late and plowing into the sand trap. Really had a lot of fun with this race.

The "A-Spec" moniker isn't really used anywhere else in the game, is it? Seems odd.

B-Spec was already on its way, supposedly, of course.

Glad I'm not the only who saw that. :) The Pagani in my race was going so fast, he literally went off track. The MB SLR messed up too, and actually had to sit there for me and the other drivers to pass, loved that! :D

Ummmm...everyone seems to be reporting about the fact that they're unpredictable, but on Suzuka, they also seem quite fast. Like, I'm having serious trouble actually beating them in the 5 laps allotted.

Thumbs up from me, lots of random racing. Trying the same lineup, no exit just restart, still end up with different cars winning, assorted offs and altogether good game play. Even had one where everyone behaved and it was almost like the old AI working up thru the field.

I noticed that the A.i couple times goes on sand, grass, crash into the Casino Triangle chicane with their cars.

I would say that I like that the AI are acting different. I think it gives another dimension to the game. Yes, it is boring chasing the rabbit all the time, and yes, I would love if they gave you the chance to qualify like in the original (maybe even GT2...can't remember) but it does appear, to me, that PD is trying something different. Love it or hate it, you will have people on both sides of the fence. Same with the easy vs hard debate, but I'm staying out of that one! But at the end of the day it is just a video game so you are going to have patterns in the programming, and for Willow Springs I found this...

I'm interested if anyone has found any other sort of findings related to it.

I'm not sure why so many here at GTP ask for qualifying. The races would be far to easy if you were allowed to start up front. Given that you earn 0 credits for qualifying and given that there is no need to do so to win the races it would be a total waste of time for most of us.

Now if the AI were faster were you could not win from the back of the pack it might be worthwhile.

I'm not sure about the AI in the new events, they do behave differently and I did see a few of them going off track in a few places. I ran the Suzuka race twice today in the MP4-12C first race I finished 2nd behind a F1 and second race I was first by just over 6 seconds in front of the Zonda S 7.3 with the F1 finishing 3rd

Yeah, the A.I. is TOTALLY different. I'd like to play the whole game's A-spec again with this A.I. applied. They still aren't "fast", but that's never been my issue. I understand people have to win these races. My issue has always been how the A.I. acts once you're (the player) near them. The things I hated the most are all gone in the Suzuka race. They no longer slow down way before the corner. They still don't drive in as deep as I do, but at least they LOOK like they're trying now. More importantly they don't slam on their brakes and pull to the side just because I'm riding their ass into the corner, or even on the straights. Nor do they slow down when they're on the side of you either.

All in all the A.I. is just trying harder in general and I really like it, my only criticism of it is their skill can't quite keep up with their newfound ambition. They aren't braking good enough to match how deep they run into the corners and they push right off the track frequently. But as a way to win races in a scripted way, I much prefer the A.I. crashing or going off track to them just pulling over to clearly let me win.

If anyone from PD is listening, as a fan I'd LOVE this new version of the A.I. applied to the main game's A-spec if it's at all possible. I'm loving GT6's recent turn-around. Interesting content being added regularly, the sound of the cars is noticably improved, and here we have an interesting new A.I. model. Keep it coming Kaz & Co.
