Launch day plans

Well I'm not working at the moment and don't know when I will have work but if I'm not working on release day then as soon as I get it which might be about noon then I'll just be playing for many hours, I remember playing GT5 Prologue for 11 hours from when I got it to going to bed.
 
On November 3rd, I'll start the car in the morning and drive 40 km to buy my pre-order. Then I will drive back home and play it. That's how I want it to be but at this point I can't tell whether I will be working on that day.
 
As I work for myself, I think that I'll quit and provide myself with a generous severance package. Then, a week later, having realized that I can not afford that generous severance, I'll have an unforeseen 💡 reconciliation.

And I still get to keep my vacation time. ;)
 
Im picking the game up during my dinner break at art college, then playing it at home for a considerable amount of time. And with the UK release been on bonfire night it'll be even better :)

but I took the two days after off so I can get started with some long driving sessions :D

and the monday and teusday after the weekend aswell:sly:

1. Drive my girlfriend to work.
2. Race to gameshop where I've already booked my copy of GT5.
3. Try not to kill myself driving home.
4. While installing make coffee and eat something.
5. Browse all menus, options and features I can find, and then some.
6. Call my girl that she will have to get back home by bus
7. Call again to beg her for buying something for dinner

Thank god that I'm freelancer and I can reject all projects for week.. or two ;)

i already requested my day offs to be tuesday and wednesdays with thursday and friday being my "going to the doctor because my leg hurts" days.. lol
 
This is my theoretical plan(s):

Wake up as early as possible, go to the shop and buy the game, come home, fire up the TV, PS3 an shove the game in and do not much else for the entire day. Play, play, play, and more play.
 
From 3/11 to 10/11,in those 7days I have a plan to do only two things:
1-a lot of sex.
2-a lot of GT5.

I have one Italian class that day, but I plan on skipping it.Going down to the mail-room with flowers then kiss the girl in the mail-room as she hands me the copy. Running back up to my room and playing the entire day.

So Im willing to bet that most people on the forums have already planned the big day in November. Ive heard enough about what people are going to do first when they get the game. Ive also heard a lot about what gear people plan to use and what car they will buy first. I thought it would be cool to hear what plans GTPers have made for the launch.

This is what I have planned for the launch...
I have already booked the 2nd, 3rd and 4th off from work. On the 1st I will stock up on food, booze, smokes and green tobacco and then head to the shop around 10pm and just hang around and talk with any other people awaiting the launch. I hope to have the game shortly after midnight and when I get it I will drive home at a fast yet responsible speed. I will have to resist the temptation to open my copy of "Beyond the Apex" and flip through the car index in the parking lot. At home I will begin what I believe is going to be a 24+ hour marathon of the most awesome game to date. I will probably pay my buddy a visit after a few hours and test it out with his G25 if I am unable to obtain one for launch time.

So tell me GTP, what plans do you have for the launch?

I plan to take off the day of Nov2. I plan to go to the local Gamestop when it opens. If the Gamestop is having a Midnight release I will be there!

I will likely play the game most of the day and look through the CE material.

I'm off the rest of my life, so i don't have take off work or skip classes. Hopefully Subway is real nice and sends me my copy of GT5 that i won early. Then i might let you guys in on the stuff we don't know about that is in the game. Or if it doesn't come early i still have my CE from GameStop i will pick up, either at a midnight release or the next morning. Then play until i fall asleep.

And they say the PS3 can't multitask well. That right there should prove people wrong. Remember to pull out or you'll fry it.


As for me. I'll be in class til 5 and after that gym and after that game time...
 
I signed two weeks of vacation and meanwhile my girlfriend does the motorhome and team hospitality for me so I can concentrate on GT5 for 15 days. On Releaseday I do:

1. Going across the street
2. buy gt5
3. go back home
4. install GT5 on one PS3
5. play GT5 with the other one til end of day1
6. day2 same as 5.
7. day3 same as 5.
8. and so on til end of my vacation ( I call it GT5 Vacation ;-))
 
I have already been approved to have off from work on the 2nd and 3rd so when i get home from work around 2:am on the 2nd ill check the tracking number to see when the game should arrive and try to get up about an hour before it gets here,
Ill probably start off going thru the menus and than check out some cars in the dealerships before i run any licences tests

Official release in Holland is 3nov. Most times shops have new games in home before the actual releasedata. So on 1 and 2 nov. I will see if they already have it. Then Hope there is a woman that is working and uwe my charms to get it early. If not I will wake up on 3nov. and get the game after I brought my children to school. The rest of the week I will have three days of because of lots of overtime.
 
Unemployed right now and will be for a while so as soon as I wake up that day I'm calling my EB to see if they have it in. They usually get their games in by 4pm PST but I'm hoping they do a midnight release or get it in earlier.

If they don't have it in early I'll probably spend time on the forums here to see what pops up like I have been doing.

Being unemployed sucks but on Nov 2nd I won't mind so much, in fact it will feel like a vacation.

2) Install game as I look through CE swag.
3) Scan through menus, dealerships, options.
4) Go to bed around 2am.
5) Wake at 10am and play till midnight, only stopping to eat and use the restroom.
 
1. Hope my EB Games will do a midnight launch.
2. Get the game, and a pee bucket.
3. Disappear for a few days.

and thats about it.. i'm currently traveling around the world, i have my CE pre-ordered at home, getting sent to a trust worthy mate whos going to put it away for the next year untill i get home.

I'v thought about buying a PS3 over here, but iv got one at home already, big screen tv, G27 with cockpit etc... everything ready to go, so having it on a ****** tv with a controller just wont satisfy me... so im gonna have to wait!

You guys are lucky!!!

Eating for the weak. GT5 all day every day. Grab some bottle of water to drink and when empty use to relieve yourself. As for food. Just hope random bugs and critters roam around. Catch and eat raw.
