I'll be away with work.....Going on a return trip to Vegas which will take 5 days, Air refuelling some fighter jets from the UK to Nellis AFB, I get back on the 25th so my copy will be sat next to my PS3 ready and waiting

If you'd just completed Fallout New Vegas like I have you'd find that post very strange.
 
So I know gamestop isn't doing a midnight release, but does anyone know if I can pick this up at walmart at midnight?

you have no idea how excited truck motors get me the day i have something being shipped to my house!

The Wal-Marts by me don't think they are going to have a midnight release. However, one basically said even if they don't I can stop by and ask for a copy after midnight if it isn't on the shelf and they will go in back and grab me one.

put the coffee on.. chat for a few hours.. it's getting a bit late for a delivery ..perhaps he's lost .. perhaps they'll send it back .. perhaps I'll need to go to game store where the only copy left is the signature edition:censored:

she says were you waiting for this ... and produces the package containing GT5 ... I say where did you get that.. she says oh, I met the postman on the way out this morning and thought I'd save him the trip up the drive :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Is it important!!

I say no then disappear towards the game room, load in the GT5 disc then the power goes out!!! ....

Now if you think this isn't possible .. think again!!

I am stuck, don't know what to do?

I am in London working till christmas, and away from my PS3 which is in Italy. I am staying with a friend, who has a PS3. Now my friend will play GT5 with me for sure, and we would likely put allot of hours in, but I still won't get as much time with GT5 as I would like, besides I really wanted to be home, on my PS3, with my 42 inch LCD and my 5.1 surround set up. I have waited this long, and not sure if I want to spoil the moment while at my friends!!!

Also, was thinking of letting my GF buy the game for me in italy, then just holding out for another month till I get home, but I don't know if I have the staying power. And also, the booklet and game will be in Italian unless I can change the language options into English?

If I buy the game on release day, I think what I may do is just hotlap in Arcade mode and save GT mode for when I get home.
 
Working on release day but not starting till 10am. So will go grab my copy before work then spend the day reading the manual and reading GTPlanet forums as the rest of the world gets their hands on their copies. Read some initial thoughts and reviews waiting for work to hurry up and finish.

Might buy some energy drinks etc on way home, make sure kids are in bed and no more chores etc to do while game installs.

Sit down and explore all menus etc check out everything I can do and see, set all options and controller to how I want it.... dunno where I am gunna start as far as driving is concerned. Maybe buy used car to try or might just start with licence tests. Its gunna be a late and satisfying night is all I know.
 
Haha...get up on the 24th at about 8am, shower, eat up a big breakfast, coffee it up. Drive to EB Games at around 9:30am to scope out if anyone's in line. If nobody's there, then head to next door wal-mart, grab a 4-pack Red Bull, while making sure I'm the first dude in line. Pick up GT5 collector's edition, making sure it's in mint condition...

I'm starting to get butterflies just thinking about it.

On another note, did anyone get more than 1 copy of collector's or signature edition? It seems like collector's edition is sold out completely in Canada as EB, the sole provider of collector's edition, has stopped taking pre-orders for it. If they are sold out, I feel sorry for those people who walk in on the 24th thinking there would be tons of collector's editions lying on the shelf and realizing that it's too late to grab a copy. Just hope they have enough supply to fill up all the pre-orders.

My plan. Head over to EB at 8:50 in the morning. Wait for the doors to open and stand at the counter. Waiting to pick up both of my CE pre-orders. Other than that, I will be studying up until the date that the game is out.

i did that... pre ordered gt5 before i bought a ps3 then pre ordered it again when i bought my ps3 (at a closer store)
 
My plan...have someone wake me up from my coffin to pick my collectors edition :D
 
Well it comes out on the 25th here, so I'll get it at some time during the day then, play it that night, and take the next day off - starting 6am, driving through til late and also that weekend

Girlfriend has been notified.
 
I get off work @ 6:30am gso going straight to pick it up & play all day until I pass out :)
 
when the store is open, i buy the game, get as fast as i can back to home, put it in my ps3 and wait for like 30+ mins to install the game, heard it is 10 gb:S when im waiting im gonna look whats inside the Signature Edition, like the books and competition and ****.
 
First off I wanted to day I am a long time reader and first time poster having just joined this morning.

Unfortunately I cannot pick it up in the morning because I have a dole appointment but I will pick it up soon after and do a close approximation of Gollum from Lord Of The Rings (itssss my birthday present, my precioussssss). After that I'll playing all day and maybe having a break for tea.
 
Get at 10 am when GS opens, then read book while it DLs. work at 130 but hopefully will get the day off since I asked 4 days ago :) but at least thanksgiving we is closed so I will play likely nothing but. :D
