Rules
Overview/Car Selection
* Race will be the Fuji 1000 kilometers (228 laps) under Endurance Events in Gran Turismo mode.
* Drivers will choose an eligible Gran Turismo car and then will choose a car from the list of 2006 LMP1 entries to represent. Cars will be available on a first-claimed, first-reserved basis.
Technical/Sporting Rules
* The car must remain stock as won/purchased. Chassis stiffening, chassis refreshes and oil changes are allowed.
* LMP1 entries must add 25 kilograms of ballast to the car’s weight. (2006 LMP1 cars are running at 925 kg.)
* Stability management (ASM) must be set to 0. Traction control (TCS) may be set to 1, at the driver’s discretion, but may not be set any higher.
* Suspension, aerodynamic and gear settings may be changed at the driver’s discretion.
* Only R1 (super-hard), R2 (hard) and R3 (medium) compound tires are allowed during the qualifying and race. R4 (soft) and R5 (super-soft) compound tires may not be used.
* Standard on-line racing rules apply. Drivers must keep at least two wheels on the track/kerbs at all times (no wall-riding, grass/track cutting, etc.). Avoid unnecessary contact with the slower AI cars. NOTE: If you miss the chicane during the race, you must come to a complete stop before continuing, in order to negate any advantage from cutting the chicane. In qualifying, if you miss the chicane, the lap time is not valid.
Qualifying Procedure
* Qualifying will take place from Monday, May 1 to Friday, May 5. In Gran Turismo mode, drivers will go into World Circuits/Fuji Speedway 90’s/Practice. Drivers will post their best single lap time, including sector times, in the forum thread. Drivers may post as many qualifying laps as they wish. Different tire compounds (R1 – R3) and suspension/aerodynamic set-ups may be used for qualifying.
* After qualifying, time adjustments will be made to the race times based on qualifying position. Each position lower than pole position on the grid will be an extra half-second added to the race times.
* NOTE: If you submit a race time before the end of qualifying, your qualifying attempt is considered over and no more lap times may be posted.
Race Procedure
* Drivers are allowed unlimited practice, but may only complete the race once.
* A minimum of one hour of the race must be done in B-spec mode. (This is to simulate a real endurance race where you hand over to a co-driver.)
* All race times are due by 2359hrs./11:59p.m. US Eastern Time Sunday, May 14. Drivers must PM:
- car/car’s HP and weight/tire compound used
- race time at the end of laps 1, 57, 114, 171 and 228
- fastest race lap
- pit stops (for the race write-up)
- B-spec information: lap and race time B-spec began and ended hour stint
A small race report (spins, contact, etc.) is also requested.
Results will be posted Monday, May 15, with a race report to follow.
Prize: 750,000 cr. and 1992 Nissan R92CP (743,000 cr.)
My aim is to create a realistic racing experience for fans of Le Mans-type racing, while allowing for (and trying to foster) a fun and enjoyable experience. Any questions/comments/opinions may be offered in this thread or sent via PM. I look forward to your participation and hope you have an enjoyable experience in this race.
