I'm gonna miss the dome this year at Le Mans, at least one will be at the Le Mans Series.

Gigawave and Nismo Team up!
Some Fia GT News. Oh Gawd this is big news. Gigawave, one of the entrants in this years 24 hours of Le Mans have confirmed working with Nismo and their Nissan GT-R.

Man, Darren Turner will be getting some good pay this year.

I will be watching the LMP1 battle a lot more closely this year, of course I will be supporting the AMR-Lola's all the way!

What else can be said but YIKES!

Maybe a result of poor planning or organization?:dunce:

I think you will find that Pescarolo has got there hands on a 907....

I saw that after looking at the entry list. maybe he'll stop complaining now.

Also, Didier Theys has announced he is retiring.

Here is the new Aston LMP1 car, and I must say, this is a ugly Aston. :(

The Headlights are far too big and that grille just doesn't look right. I do realize that the Guy that designed the Gorgeous DB9, but this doesn't work.

Its offcial, LMP1 has gone to hell in a hand basket. First the stupid rule implementation with the rear wing, then the just bloated Audi R15, now this Aston Martin. I think I'll stick to P2 thank you, evne though I know everyone is gonna throw LMP1 in my face over and over again:indiff:

I actually like how the new LMP1 cars look! They seem very advanced aerodynamically, wich in my eyes equals beauty. I really liked last years F1 cars, whereas this year, they feel kind of bland to me.
Have to say though, that the Aston looks a bit less advanced than the Audi and Acura cars.

While I can't agree with you about the current LMP1 looks(or at least the rear wing), this car just doesn't look "Aston Martin" to me, not at all. I do agree about the F1 cars as say, 2006-2008 were the best looking cars to me while the current ones are not quite the lookers in my eyes. If anything, they(noses excluded) just look same.

I actually like the Aston, and I even like the seemingly unpopular Gulf livery too, it looks nice here and it looked nice on the DBR9.
I will admit though that I kind of preferred the Charouz livery on the Lola-Aston Martin last year.

My friend Fernando tells me he will sign for Pescarolo if the sponsors can give him the budget in time. Heres hoping.

And the dirt is gone!

Any who... we need moar red! And for a sister car, they could use yellow instead of red. Still, the rear wing reminds me of the new Acura LMP1 wing. The press release also stated a Lithium ion battery without KERS, hmm 💡 make the next Audi prototype a Hybrid, maybe? :scared:

Somehow the paintscheme reminds me of the R8C from ´99. Looks good though.

The reason they have lithium ion batteries is because they are lighter and have better longivity than ordinary batteries.

personally always wondered why no protos had a wing installed in the nose. t would make much more DF. We finally found one with it.

It's interesting that Audi have felt the need to design a new twin-turbo V10 diesel for the R15, obviously they're consious about trimming down the weight of the car, needing to do everything to close up the advantage the 908 had.

It´s time! First race of the season!

entrylist

Sadly the Gallardo GT2 is gone. Seems it wasn´t ready.
Gallardo GT2 Pics

During practice, the Spyker has topped the GT2 timesheets, so I have high hopes for a real threeway battle in GT2. Can´t really count on the Aston vantage to be up there with the Porsches and Ferraris (and the Spyker!).

GT1 looks pretty much as dead as it was last year, but at leats there is four entries and three makes, as opposed to ALMS. I hope for the R-GT to put up a real challange! It has the speed, but in the past it has lacked reliability.

LMP2 is, to me, a sort of middle class that I find less interesting; They´re not as cool as the P1 cars (or as fast), and personally I find the GT cars much better looking (and sounding) than both P1 and P2, so I´ll pass on comments for that. Large startingfield though, so it could prove to be fun to watch!
Strange to see that there are no Porsches in either LMS or ALMS.

LMP1 on the other hand looks very interesting, especially since there are no 908´s or R15´s in the field. This could turn out to be a real nailbiter! Of course there are the Kolles R10´s, but I wonder if the Kolles team is ready for such a demanding feat as this.

You guys know what channel is gonna air this race? I plan on looking for it on Livestation.

In Europe it´ll air on Eurosport. No idea elsewhere.

P1 will be very interesting indeed! And the Lambo in GT1 looks really quick by those results. Sadly the Spyker didn´t deliver :(

Here in the US, it's on channel ABC (KABC 7 here in SoCal). It's not "live" but pretty damn close to it. The race starts in about 25 minutes from right now. The race airs an hour later.

EDIT: Oops. Wrong thread. I thought this was the ALMS thread. Never mind.
