Agreed, but it was basically luck. The two Saleens, and the Lambo for that matter, was torpedoed by the same (!) P2 car, at different occasions. The Lambo suffered the least from that. The Vette also had some mishaps here and there, two spins and a trip to the graveltraps, and was thus left several laps behind.
SUPER BUMP!!! (Wow, this thread has been dead since April)
Now, we have had 3 rounds since the last post, and three different winners over those rounds. Peugeot, Pescarolo, and Aston Martin. Now coming up is the finale at silverstone, and there is some great news for the race.
A F1 lengen, Nigel Mansell, retures to true top flight racing in the Le Mans Series. With his son Greg, he joins Lawrence Tomlinson for the only real chance that the LNT Zytek at a P1 podium.
A car, that was last seen at Silverstone is back with the same team, with a different name. Team WFR is back with the beautiful Embassy WF01-Zytek. I just hope it shows the same pace as it did one year ago.
And in other news, Gigawave and James Watt Automotive return in to the Le Mans Series in the Aston Martin DBR9 and the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR respectively.
Great to see Gigawave back with the Aston Martin in GT1 against the Larbre Saleen. Peter Kox and Ryan Sharp are do drive the DBR9. Luc Alphand may not be there, one of their Corvettes was destroyed in a fire whilst in transit somewhere in France.
Looking forward to the Silverstone race next week, although I do need to find a way to properly watch it on TV, lost my subscription to Eurosport2 which usually broadcasts a lot of the race.
I'm looking forward to going next week and going with Gulf (get to hang around with AMR in the garage!), I was really happy when I read about the Gigawave Aston in autosport. My last chance to see current spec GT1 cars.
Most of all I just can't wait to hear the Aston LMP1's and see how 'Our Nige' does in the Ginetta.
As they said at the start of the year, saving costs only did Sebring and Le Mans. And now all they're doing for the rest of the year is Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta.

Hmm. Seems like Eurosport 2 isnt going to broadcast it, and here on Eurosport 1 channel, only one hour is being broadcast. Anyone know of a station to watch more of it online?
I just can't wait for this. Unfortunately, I'll only be attending on Sunday (wish I could have got a Saturday ticket aswell) It will be great to see how Pescarolo will rebound from their misfortune at the Nurburgring. Hearing the Aston monstrous 6L V12 will be the icing on the cake
The calender for the 2010 Le Mans Series has been unveiled, it looks good!
7-8 March // Paul Ricard Circuit (official test)
10-11 April // Paul Ricard Circuit (8 hours)
8-9 May // Spa-Francorchamps (1000km)
16-17 July // Portimao (1000km - night race)
21-22 August // Hungaroring (1000km - night race)
11-12 September // Silverstone (1000km)
I'm surprised the the Hungaroring is in. No one had a clue that it would be in. Everyone said that Abu Dhabi had a shot at a round in November. With this calender in place, i guess that will be for the Asian Le Mans Series. In other News...
Acura is going to Europe with Strakka and potentially JAS Motorsports. Strakka knows how to run a P1 car well, remember in Barcelona earlier this year? I think they are an early shoe-in for the P2 title. The FLM cars will join the Le Mans Series much in the same way as the ALMS is doing so. And BMW has confirmed they are in GT2 with a works team. There is so much to learn about for the new season and so much to look for!
*Begins to pray for a Dome P1 for the whole season...
