Robert Plant.

Led Zeppelin is one of those bands where ignoring the lyrics is sometimes a good idea.

I like Robert Plant much better when he's not shrieking like a little girl.

Hey- Klos-

Like I said i've listened to Led Zeppelin for a long time, yeah of course I know all their names, who doesn't??!!
Robert Plant
John Paul Jones
Jimi Page
John Bonham(his son Jason plays the drums too..)

What'z your favorite Zeppelin album, this is to everyone, I like all of them, so it's a tough one between Led Zep 4, or Houses of the Holy, or Zeppelin 2 , see what I mean??
Let me know what you like... :D

Ah, I take it you're RVD's mom. I think he only listens to that MTV R&B/Hip-Hop.

Houses of the Holy rules all the other Zeppelin albums.

So there's more Zep fans here.

Quick question: what is "Bron-y-aur" ?
And don't say : you gotta stomp it.

BTW: got the new double DVD. 5 hrs of live performance. Dolby surround 5.1 unbelievable. Must have for all true fans !!!!!!!!!!

Peter Grant was the bad ass manager. He was known to be a real tough guy, who liked to kick some ass for fun. The story goes he even killed a couple of dudes, for pleasure.

Best album ? My favorite tunes are those where they go acoustic. Battle of evermore, hats off to roy harper, etc...
All time favorite is : When the levee breaks.

There's this great double out too: the BBC sessions.
And who's got the acoustic, recorded with plant/page and some moroccon traditional musicians. Great stuff. Wonderfull bluesy version of "Nobody's fault but mine".

Bron Y-Aur is a place in england where they almost recluded to work on Led Zeppelin 3 and the no-name album. haha, yeah, im a FREAKING fan of the Zeppelin. the greatest band E-VER. just think, it was an AMAZING cumule of talent!!! everyone there was top-npotch in what they did: Jimy page? for me, the greatest guitarrist ever, could play ANYTHING, composed like no other, had a wonderfull technique and was lightning fast. John bonham, the best drummer ever too, so POWERFULL, so energetic, yet so ritmic, he never lost control, and he could play like that, with the same intensity for hours... ever heard moby dick? (: John Paul Jones, an awesome bassist, always got his work done with efectiveness, and finaly, Robert Plant, a vpoice so sharp and androginous he influenced a BUNCH of singers. before him no one could reach those notes except Janis Joplin or some other woman. all four were the best at what they did, and together they formed a complete union, the best band in history for me.

as for my favorite tune... well... they keep changing,. I keep listening at them and find always something new and marvelous in each and every song. right now im fascinated with battle of evermore, with Achilles last stand and with the funky Trampled underfoot. One that has always fascinated me is Dazed and Confused, SO ****ING VERTIGINOUS!! the song starts off easy and quiet, but omfg when it explodes, no one can stop it! IMPRESSIVE guitar solo, maybe one of the most complex and fast in history.
then we have Since I've been loving you. Intense or what?

my favorite album??? the **** with that!!! all of them are amazing. maybe the less favorite is the last one, in trough the out door, and even that one is a helluva good work, wich may be the pinnacle of any other band, but the less brilliant work for these dudes.

I had something like that in mind.

And yes, Zeppelin rocks. They are god.

Jimmy page owns you.

I own EVERY peice of music released by Led Zeppelin. About 20 minutes before seeing this thread, I just finished listening to Zeppelin 1 & 2 in order. Because I am home all day studying for exams.

They are truly one of the best bands to have ever existed.

Robert Plant is also probably very close to the best singer of all tiem. Listen to how much he uses his voice. And also how much his voice adds its own element to the music. Unlike most singers, who just hold one note for each syllable. Most of the time following the same notes and chord progression as the guitar or piano.

Robert Plant really makes the band. He also has SO much emotion in every syllable. Well, not quite as much as Jim Morrison, who is SUCH a good singer.

Anyone here aboard who has seen them live ? In real life i mean.

Or am i the only fossyl on this site ? I've seen them twice. Once in London's Earls Court and once in Brussels. Lucky me.

about the Robert Plant stuff... remember the "dialogue" 'tween him and Page's guitar at the end of "you shook me"??? its incredible. also, in many live versions of "dazed and confused", the ones that last 20+ minutes, all the vocalizations and efects he makes with his voice, and also the long dialogues between him and the weird guitar are awesome. "parapapawww" and then the guitar... "kwraagragrwaggarwnnngg" and so on... want an example? get your "how the west was won" and play Dazed and confused. the tune of his voice was unparalleled. yeah, maybe some lyrics were ****ty, but his voice and form of singing were awesome. the vocalizations when "since I've been loving you" is played live are awesome too. and how abotu he and the guitar making the very same noise in the intro of "nobodys fault but mine"?

I have never herd, nor could I write, a more beautiful song than the Rain Song.

Jimi Page has an amazing tone. Compared to todays guitarists, he could fart in a microphone and still sound better.

I owe a lot of my own guitar soul to that man. There's nobody like him.

The rain song is incredibly beautiful. when I first listened to it, I didnt apreciated it completely, because what I liked about the zep was how hard and heavy and powerful they were. but now that I really know the zep, hell... its AMAZING.

Do you know who Led Zeppelin are?

From that, I wouldnt think so Klos

Just added the "Remasters" album to my collection, only cost me $20AUS

Remasters is a very good introduction to Zeppelin music. It was that piece that first introduced me to the band.
now I am a little more literate than "remasters" and have my good share of Led Zeppelin bootlegs and related stuff. how about you dudes? you may have albums, but do you have any Led Zep Bootlegs? even if they are in mp3s, as there are sometimes no other way to find them.
I have a few on my own, including an insane 11-disc collection of rare cuts from the preoduction days of every album. the difference in some songs is intriguing. also, many concerts, and of course, many tributes (the reggae one is cool) and covers. I even have some stff from their pre and post Zeppelin years.
