Lego is designed for children. None of them are tremendously challenging.

The Creator series can each do 3 separate models, but aren't difficult. The Technics range can usually do 2 separate models and are slightly harder, but they're not what I would term difficult.

Not necessarily looking for a difficult model, just something that is going to be good value for money, in terms of time taken/money spent.

I think the creator or city series should have what your looking for. As for the cost of it, im not sure what lego costs in your country so I cant help there. That Air Cargo terminal I posted on the previous page was around $100 Australian and it has a plane, working forklift, cargo conveyor and a fuel truck aswell as the control tower.

I think a city set would suit you best then. I just put another big layby on. Its all the sets from the Lego movie that the store had in stock. The only other movie set that I need now is Metal Beard's Sea Cow.

We'll got me the Simpsons Lego set.

Built these bits so far...

I've now finished it...

The house looks good. I hope they release other Simpsons sets. I have also put another layby on. Its all the Lego Movie sets that Big W had in stock, which is everything except the Sea Cow.

I'd like to build custom stuff with them but I don't want to take the models apart for pieces....

If they were less expensive I would buy 2 sets of a model so I could have one for parts.

Just seen something as cool, a Big Bang Theory Lego set. They are trying to get votes now.

The Simpsons set is impressive, the only irksome thing is that the characters have half closed eyelids which look just wrong / wierd. Why do that when nearly always in the series their eyes are wide open?

I'm not all that big a fan of themed / licenced Lego. It seems like they are doing every IP under the sun nowadays and they are making new special pieces at a crazy rate. It's loosing the imaginative streak (what can I make out of the pieces I have) and becoming more literal like a model kit.

Although this move has been key to Lego returning back to prosperity give me old skool 'in house' Lego any day!

I posted this on the 'Are you a collector?' thread:

Another thing I would add is Lego. I have accumulated a sizeable collection over the years, with one of my favourites being the Lego table-top football set:

I can still remember the times I played with my dad :)

The most recent set I got was Big Ben as a Christmas present two years ago, what commodoreben has posted already:

That Zonda is amazing. My lastest build.

The Big Ben Architecture set.

I haven't collected Lego in a while (but my 6 year-old sister has been given Lego friends as birthday and christmas presents), but one I would like to get is Lego Minecraft:

It just looks so awesome

I think I still have the old 90s catalogs somewhere, I loved those. Two particular sets I always wanted was the Aquanauts Turbo Fan (I believe it was called), and Ridgeway Racers kart set (seems this is also known as Victory Cup Racers) but couldn't get either anywhere.

Of the sets I did have from most other 'genres' of lego, great times were had, best 'toys' ever.

I remember these sets back in the late 90's, in fact I still have some of the original packaging at home (I'll post it if I have time)

I went to the Brickvention Expo that was held in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago. These are some of the pics I took.

@commodoreben I tip my hat off to you for some of the crazy sets you own, and probably being the biggest Lego fan on :gtplanet: :)

May I also ask where you obtained the Simpsons Lego set:

Here are the pics of The Simpsons House

It was a nice surprise, considering it's been years since I have actually played with Lego on a regular basis, other than the usual "power outage - let's play Lego".
