Yeah, I don't mind sharing them. I don't know if I can upload files here. I don't use any other file sharing thing, so I'll have to see.
Can I PM you and perhaps have you email them to me? I would be happy to store them on my Google Drive for everyone if you don't have access to that.

CaDA Laferrari. It was a bitch to build, but the finished model looks fantastic. It's very fragile though. You look at it the wrong way and pieces start falling off.

Had a blast building the new Gameboy set this morning. With barely over 400 peices this was a very clever and surprising build. I haven't held an original Gameboy in 20 years but from memory it feels very authentic from the size, the buttons and the way the cartridge clicks in place.

My OCD is flaring up with this game cartridge:

WTF surely that can be fixed, right?

I just followed the instructions 😂
The real cartridges have an indent like that, if I recall when powered on it secures the cart in with that indent.
Orly? Interesting. Well when I get the set they won't be offset  Awesome little set though, I may see if my local lego shop has one in stock. I've sold all the lego sets I wanted to, so now I just have my Lego NSX, Transformers and consoles that I designed, and a couple one-offs. It all fits on one shelf now. And a little bit of savings for the NSX, whenever that is gonna happen, haha.

I can't for the life of me find a picture of a powered on Gameboy from the back with a cart in it but yeah here's a cartridge with the indent.

I never owned a Gameboy, but that is odd. Does anyone know why that indent is there? It seems pointless to me(?) At any rate I'll be centering my game cartridges thank you very much

When the power switch is in the "on" position a little plastic peice slides into the indent and keeps the cartridge in place while the Gameboy is on so it doesn't slide out during play.

Here it is on the off position but l you can see the peice that slides over when the power is on on the top right.

The Lego set does not replicate this feature.

Target had the Mattel Block Shop Mercedes 300SL for $50 this weekend, so I picked it up to try it. I just finished the first 10 bags of the 30 in the box. I’m very impressed with the presentation and quality of the set so far. The pieces fit together a bit snug, making the smaller ones harder to click in, but they all do click in positively. They all have Mattel instead of MegaBlox, which was nice to see. Mattel has gone about these sets the right way. There are more leftover pieces than normal Lego sets, but that doesn’t bother me too much.

i've bought the UCS Falcon Millenium but chinese version and so far, it's been pretty flawless. I'm like at step 230 of 1300ish but atm the difference between lego and this is worth the price. Sure there's a few pieces here and there (1 I had to brute force to make it fit, the other had to be press a bit to stay in place and I'm thinking of glueing the 3rd one, as I dont plan to take it apart anyway) but other than that, it's really the same fun building. Plastic quality is a bit worst, scratch are showing a bit more easely, but if you dont look super close at it, like to the point of seeing the lego logo on the tile, you wont see the difference. And the price difference is more than 3 times less (200 usd vs 700-800 usd in my country) so yeah, no brainer for me.

I also have Barad-dur and the Barge of Jaba to build but I wanted to see first how a fake lego was.

I did the R2D2 too as well as a friend bought it me for my birthday, it was a fun build to do I have to admit.

I bought the Optimus Prime Trailer that is off-brand and the design is 100% great, but the pieces can be difficult at times. But for the money, if you build it once, they aren't too bad tbh. I hope to eventually just take the parts list and buy the lego equivalent, but its kinda far down the TDL.

Finally finished that set I got for my birthday, according to the app, I took 4:22:36 to build it, with a four brick per minute (BPM?) average.

Yesterday, i got three for christmas:

  • Mclaren MCL38 (77251)
  • London (21034) - Also the next one to do
  • Mini Bonsai Trees (10373)
Wow, what a nice Christmas surprise. Very cool and epic.

The price for Lego is ridiculous, so I see the appeal behind AliExpress kits. Might have to see if there are any discontinued sets.
There definitely is, the old death star and the Ewok village are two that I saw. also a batman set I want.
