I'll still be following the series and you can be damn sure I'll be back to kick your asses eventually.

if there's action, i'll post some videos.

Someone get a skyline for pyxn!!! it was in the OCD last week but it may have been refreshed again.

I MIGHT still have one, not sure if I modded it.

I'll keep checking..I didn't buy it the other day.

If it rains, it rains. Tonight's lobby will start sunny and if they conditions change, they change. Just remember:

Make sure you exit to the lobby and select your tires from there. If you pit during practice/qualifying for different tires, there is no guarantee those tires will be on at the start of the race.

Pyx, I sent you a car last night, I hope you got it. Be nice too her, she's white for white power. If my internet poops out tonight, I might cry. I don't care about winning the Tuesday series, I WANT to win this series. My little MR2, has one race left in her (hint, hint), so good luck tonight boys.

Rain was a huge factor for the Tuesday race. It rained for ONE LAP. But stayed damp for 24 laps. Rhodes who pit hoping it would dry were destroyed.will be very interesting tonight. My talon is much faster than my fto and the fto did great. I'm praying for a downpour!!!!

With an FF, I hope the same thing happens tonight. It was wet for only 20 laps, since on balding RH tires and damage I could run 2.27-28.

Ok, here's the plan: At 9:55, we will run a quick 2 lap race with whatever conditions the track is currently in. Please race clean. the result of the race will be the starting order of the actual race. When this qualifying race concludes, I will change the track weather to rain and the starting order to the option that bases it off the previous race (but not reverse). Everyone should get on the track, in the pits, but do not leave the pits. Once everyone is in i will start the race. That should maximize the rain time at the beginning of the race. Make sure you choose the appropriate tires prior to entering the track.

Huyler, make sure you lay down the law in voice and text before everything gets going. I feel like there are drivers that don't listen to the voice chat, and are really eager to be driving. You also might want to impose penalties on those who enter the track instead of remaining in the pits after the 2 lap race.

That shouldn't make a difference. It should be based on the results of the 2-lap race.

I think that is a great idea.

Oh, never mind, I read that wrong.

The first thing I thought we reading this was "Yea....this is going to work about as well as last nights debacle."

More testing done today and how long a track remains wet after the rain stops is completely random. I know when it rains should be random, but shouldnt the track dry in the same amount of time. Unless Kaz spent as much time on the changing climate (high/low track temps, relative humidty) as he did on crafting the headlights of premium cars, I would think the track would dry at the same pace each time. 4-5 practice sessions and 4 races and the track is drying (to a point that RH tires are safe) at a speed of 7 laps till the agonizing 20 laps last night. The other 4-5 events with rain had the track drying between 10-15 laps. :banghead:

Basically, its a crapshoot. Not even paying attention to how much water is kicking up from the tires lets you know when it might stop. On lap 13 I was kicking no water up last night in half the corners so I grabbed the RH's and I was completely screwed.

....aarrgh...I'm so excited for tonight though. Last night was a heck of a fight for the 8-9 of us who didnt toss in the towel. For 7 wet laps on RH tires (w/rear damage) I was on edge. No less than 4 times did my car, for no reason, go into a tank slapper. It was awesome.

How the hell did you do that?? and I hear ya on the 'no spray + pit for RHs = suffer'. had that too :ouch:

I don't think I'll be repeating the race tonight..even with the Skyline generously donated by BTK (I'll clone it and give it back). Might change, but I don't think so..I need some sleep.

Is it ok to watch a little of your race tonight? It should be a giggle.

Do what? Run those times.

My last 4 laps were 2'29, 2'28, 2'27, 2'27. I took the racing hard tires on Lap 13 and suffered through a lap of 3'06 on lap 14, then lap by lap as it became more dry I became faster. On lap 15 or 16, MMK punted me on the spoon into the dirt and I lost 10+ seconds trying to get out. The rear damage screwed up my even tire wear and beause I drove with ballast in the rear, made every corner VERY nerve racking. By the time it was dry on lap 21 I had about 70% of my front tires and 50% of my back. I drove my best laps trying to chase down Garris and if the MGF could go any faster with the conditions I was presented...I want to know how.

Hopefully I answered the question

yeah...I'm satisfied.

Really weird that without any spray you couldn't switch to RH tires. I know last season we did that and it was fine.

Anyway, back to the Wednesday race since this is the wednesday thread.

Kind of a crazy race last night. in the pre-race I sput at Degner curve...not sure why but probably because of cold tires. When the race started I was on the 2nd row but some other cars didn't get placed correctly. WiiFreak pulled away while I was stuck in traffic. It took forever to get around some cars that were simply faster but I knew it was a long race and it was only a matter of time before people started slipping off the track. I made an early mistake but was able to draft diabolic for a while. Then he made a mistake and i pulled away. I was dead even with WiiFreak for several laps but then i started gaining several seconds per sector and eventually caught him on what must have been bald tires. I built up an 8 second gap and then saw it change to 38 seconds. He must have pitted. I waffled on whether to pit for another lap or so and then finally pitted when the gap dropped to 34 seconds. I came out 3 seconds ahead but he closed the gap quickly while i waited for my tires to warm up. Then I went off track and fell behind 4 seconds. It took me until lap 24 to catch him and I got by drafting up the back straight. I had the inside line for 130R and i stayed tight and left plenty of room. When I checked my rearview he had gone pretty far wide. I stayed in front through the chicane and front straight then pulled away through the esses. His tires were definitely toast. Then on the final chicane i was several seconds ahead and got lulled into talking to bowtie about points and missed my brake point for the chicane. I went through the dirt and re-entered the track. It was a drag to the finish line. I couldn't pull ahead though, he just had too much straight line speed.

Oh well, that's probably the season for me. I don't think i can gain 4 points on him in the next two races. With my 1,000 credits to spend i don't think i'll be faster at Daytona...and le sarthe will certainly be a bust for me.

I don't know what can be done about starts, but it did no go as planned last night. I realized that I was placed higher than I should have been so I slowed at the start. Never again. I'm going to have to take any advantage I can; everyone else does.

I should have started 2nd, but I was awarded 7th which I'm thrilled about! Normally the game likes to screw me and start me last when I qualify top 2-3 :banghead: I had to use up grip I didnt want racing up to 2nd. Had I been able to start 2nd...I could have drafted him which was my plan. My tires though did give out and I could keep up with Huyler. If Wii was pulling me out of the corner, I think I could have kept ahead of Chuyler till he caught both of us, but my tire life was shortened about a lap with my aggressive driving at the start. I know my tires will last just as long as his plus he has no suspension. How again was he able to start first? :(

BTW...I hate starts. If I dont leave the track, if I qualify 2nd. If I enter the track in the right order and do leave the pits...nothing matters. It all works out to me being screwed. Not once and this is a fact, have I been given a place higher than what I earned through qualifying, but I've started last or close to it more times than I can count. Maybe if the folks calling for DLC or bust would be better served asking Kaz to fix the actual game and not add more things to corrupt it. Soap box over.

Maybe v2.0 will fix everything!

That should get an award as the funniest line. Ever!

Maybe the second version of the fifth iteration will fix it. Yeah, that's it.

i think next week we will just run a quick 2 lapper at 9:50 and then have 10 minutes of qualifying after that where everyone must remain on the track and out of the pits. We've gotten away from doing that and i think its the only way to ensure the cars line up the right way (short of having a chaotic parade lap where cars end up damaging each other because they can't drive 60 mph)
