Just a reminder, Daytona has two exits to pit road.

Wednesday night drivers will be required to use the 2nd exit both during practice as well as during the race. Any altercations arising from someone using the first pit road exit will have dire consequences. As in, the offending driver getting 0 points and 0 credits and the victims of said altercation getting points and credits of the position they were running before the incident (unless they happen to work back from the incident).

So please use the 2nd exit, and stay to the left of the track until any faster cars are clear. Remember that your speed through the infield on your exit lap will be significantly slower than someone on warm tires so you most likely won't be able to run the same pace.

Also, turn 1 is very tricky. I suggest taking a low approach. Straddle the yellow line as you enter and you'll have more track to brake. If you take a wide entrance, you risk putting a tire on the grass before you finish braking. Watch some youtube videos. No one comes in from the outside wall on that turn. You enter low and track-out under braking naturally.

More on turn 1... Aim to apex the flat grassy section just after pit exit 1. As you brake past it, you'll be in the right spot to for turn 1.

if you go wide, you'll just stay wide and end up in the grass every time.

Good luck tonight, it's the pivotal race. WiiFreak, Chuyler, I wish you both the best these next two races. I'm not going to let up, so what happens. Happens.

I'm pretty sure I can't beat WiiFreak after him gaining those 4 points on me last week. His car was faster on the straights of Suzuka and will likely blow past me at Daytona. Tire wear will be less of a factor on this track....but drafting could play a key role just like it does at le Sarthe.

Bowtie, if you do well this week you'll be right back up there with us.

:lol:BEWARE BEWARE the bograt is coming...
some people are counting chickens still in eggshells

2.04.9 in chuylers lounge, I'm very pleased with only 430pp. It won't win, but I think 6th is in grasp.

Lol! Was there arms crossed too? That musta gone over real well....🤬

Interesting race last night. I really wish the grid was setup right. I started 8th with only Lunarian, Cujo, and Diabolic behind me. Cujo blew past half the field before turn 1 and I played it safe. Diabolic stayed back with me until the oval. He passed me and I drafted him past lunarian. But lunarian didn't brake for the bus stop and I saw him coming in hot. I avoided a major catastrophe but it caused me to lose the draft. Probably for the best though. The next few laps I closed in on some cars after they had spread out. Had some fun with james and bowtie and eventually caught wiifreak. I made a mistake on turn 1, clipped the grass ever so slightly and had to battle back past bowtie and wiifreak again. I pitted at the end of lap 15 and Wiifreak came in right on my bumper. I had an earlier pit stall which actually helped me. He had to slow to wait for me to enter my stall and then I think he had to wait again to pull out when i went by. That put me out of drafting distance once the pit cycle was finished. I really thought he'd catch me on fresh tires but that was the last I saw of him. I had plenty of cars to draft though, and I was working hard to chase down Bowtie and James who didn't pit. Again, I made a mistake in turn 1 but saved it from damage. However, it looked like I was going to spend the rest of the race chasing down bowtie again, and my chances of catching james looked slim. Then Cujo came to the rescue. I was able to draft him and catch bowtie. I drafted past bowtie and used Cujo again to catch James. Over the course of 1 lap, I think I made back all the lost time just by staying close enough to Cujo.

I'm just really surprised WiiFreak never caught up to us. My only guess is that he's planning something big for next week. In fact, looking at his rewards, I'd say he's got the season in the bag if he can put any car between he and I.

The final race should be interesting. There are several contenders for the championship:

wiifreak wins - if he can put at least one car between he and chuyler

chuyler wins - if he can finish ahead of wiifreak (unlikely)

A tie between chuyler and wiifreak - if wiifreak places 4th and chuyler places 5th (also occurs if they place 5th and 6th or 6th and 7th, etc)

james wins - if he wins the race and wiifreak and chuyler place no better than 5th and 6th

bowtie - unlikely at this point, but you never know.

Basically I'm counting on Cujo, Diabolic, and Galkazoid to finish well. The more cars that run clean, the fewer cars there will be to get stuck betweeen wiifreak and I.

I was driving as quickly as I could, however my car was simply slower. On fresh tires I could do 2:03's, but my tires dropped off quickly so I was doing mostly 2:04's and 2:05. Even while saving my tires by the end of each 15 lap stint my front tires were 50% worn. The only way I could keep up was with the draft, but I had no one to work with after my first pit stop and was thus left in the dust. When cujo passed me I couldn't even hold his draft in the run down to the bus stop. I followed Diabloic for a while after he caught up to me, however I lost him once we caught up to Bowtie.

Luckily I'm still in a good position for next week. I'll be able to put on some much needed power which will help out a lot. It won't be enough power to keep up with Diabolic or Cujo unless if I can keep them within drafting range, but I should have enough to compete with everyone else. After that practice race we did last night I think I could benefit from the rain, however it's unlikely it'll rain unless the Spec 2.0 update changes how the weather works.

Anyways I'm looking forward to next week, both for the finale and the Spec 2.0 update 👍

I feel like I've ruined Diabolic s shot at podium. He should have finished higher had I not plowed into him

Had I not been wrecked by Cujo, I would have gotten 2nd on a one pit strategy and had 6 more points with a car that can win this week. If that would have happened, no matter who finished 2nd, I would be third overall. Now I need a bit of help. I will still be slower than Cujo, but I have faith that he'll wreck and this time I wont be near him.

To get podium, I'll have to win while Bowtie gets worse than second and James gets worth than 4th. Hopefully Morbo, Cujo and Wiifreak are 2-4!

If I get 2nd....well, thats not an option but then James needs to get 8th place and Bowtie has to get 5th or worse

I'm happy to put 10K into the car. Been wanting to drop wait and add a bit more power all season!

I need a lot of help. I wonder if Wiifreak will go for suspension at this point if it rains or goes all in on power hoping to stay with the draft. Whatever happens, we need James to pull a grenadeshark here and snatch defeat from you know...the other place. Anyone down for a practice race this evening?

Good luck tonight gentlemen. I hope I can beat Cujo (again) and remain the top scoring Miata.

My talon is biblically quick compared to my slow fto.. I think the weather will be much more varied tonight which will be interesting. Anything other than top 3 will be disappointment.

Well, my Miata has more PP than my Talon does.

good luck racers!

any advice on tires?

if it's spitting out, but there's no backspray, does that still affect dry tires?
or is that the kind of weather for racing intermediates?
