someone told me that if I win a prize car, and sell it, I cant win it again...is this true?!

Yes, except for cars you win in races with a random prize car (enduros, series races)

yah, it does. i dont sell cars, anyways, because u net a huge loss. when u sell a car u get barely any money, compared to what its worth (especially if u bought mods for it).

u kinda gotta stick it out, early on in the game. i dont know how far u are, but here is what i did.
1st car, mazda miata. raced with it until i could afford...
2nd car, mitsubishi lancer. slap a turbo on this baby, and run with it.
3rd car, chevy corvette z06. i totally worked the competition in amateur with this.
then save some dough for a zonda c12s to run with the big dogs.

instead of a chevy z06, some good choices are the nissan skyline, mazda rx-7, and many others.

My 2nd car was a Cobra SVT, i think for the price this car is the best deal. And soon enuff u have the money so this baby has +700hp and it looks awesome, true american power

Crap! How could i leave out one of my favorite cars, the svt cobra!

thanks for getting my back troy.

Oh yes, they are right. If you race a three race set as you see in Beginner and Amateur mostly, you can only win that car once. Sell it, and it's gone for good. All series races and enduro's give a prize from 4 possible cars, thus selling the prize from that still leave it open for you to get it again.

I used the RX-7, the Evo VII, and then basically prize cars after that most of the time, after the beginning Miata of course. And yes, I am ready for the Evo VII to hit American soil. I will go see one as soon as I can next year/late this year..... :burnout:

my first car was a trueno and my second which is my fav was the supra. i mostlyusedit for the hard races like 150miles superspeedway

Im workin on fixing up my miata...yea, though it may seem useless, I tihnk its worth it. If I can get the 40k for the 3rd turbo then nothing can stop me...and yes, I love Lancers, so I wanna get an evo as #2...in a long time...after winning the sunday cup, I sold the trueno...I dont think it matter sall that much beacuse I can just buy one, but in later races Im definatley saving the cars...

One car that I really wanna get is the Lancia Delta...if its still in there...I love mitsu's, and toyota's, so thats ganna be my next stop...one thing I noticed is the tires are so friggin expensive! 80k for a set of super softs?! the 40k turbo I want...uh...thats 40 races unless I can take the clubman races (yea Im a bad driver).

Im watching the WRC right now on tv, and yes, a pugoet is in first...go faster Evo! FASTER!!!

Yeah this sucks. I found out the hard way. I won these cars and sold them and now I can't win them again. Guess I'll have to start a new game. :D

I didnt know many things of GT3 at the beginning. But what I am sure is that u win the best car on the race series , except the 787b on Like the Wind Series and at certain % of the game. Keep the car, even though I sold the copy of it. U get two 787b's. I sold one.

one thing though the cars that you win will have more hp than the ones that are buyableso if you want every car id suggest using one that you cant win from racing

What do you think of this:

I bought the 17000 miata to start the game. Later gave it best exaust/intake, lowest turbo, and middle suspension. I then win a better miata in the beginner clubman cup. 130 horses, pretty nice handeling. Do I sell my first miata and tune the new one? Do I sell the new one and keep the old one? Or do I sell neither, have to many miatas, and just race about 5 more races to get the amount of money Id get from selling a miata...?

I recommend u not to sell it. U spend money on that car, and would not be fair to sell it. U can also go and win the IA license or IB and pick ur Miata untuned and race it, to get more cash and a new car.

If you care about the color of the prize car you win, I would advise you to save your game before you win the last race in a single race championship. Several of the prize cars awarded in this type of championship are very exclusive and can't be bought from the dealership, and you may not win the car in the color you want. If this happens, reload your game and do the last race over until you get the car in the desired color. Believe it or not, I started my whole game over (I was at about 77%) because I wanted a few of the cars you can only win once in a different color.

keep the miata you won and sell the one you bought (Use Similar Settings) or check out the HP faq i made. The newest version is posted in the new gt online database topic page 2. it has the cars buyable listed at the top and the cars that you win at the bottom of the list. then you can decide if the hp difference is enough to help you decide which one to keep. However there are quite a few miatas that you win

I sold the new miata and used the cash to buy a bigger turbo for my old miata. I used it to win the FR cup and got the silvia, which Im never ganna use, but why not keep it...now Im saving up about 30k to buy a good car. Now what should I get... Evo VII GSR or SVT Mustang?

Yeah Don't worry about selling your old Miata. You won't get a lot of cash for it so it's not worth it. I sold mine and I regret it.

Now what should I get... Evo VII GSR or SVT Mustang?

Get the Evo VII GSR. U can use it on the 4Wd and Turbo race plus the Evo VII kicks ass. Has good acceleration and if u take some mods on it, u can race on the final beginneer GT series and get more money.

the Cobra, use it in FR and NA series. Its much faster than the evo and it can be rally'ed if u buy rally tires for it.

The Evo VII Rally Concept is a derivative of the EVo VII GSR, so I think u can put rally tires on it and get better results than the Mustang

I s'pose it is a toss up between the Evo and the Mustang. I myself am a fan of the FR cars, as opposed to a 4wd car.

I just hate the understeer - Sure, you can buy a VCD and give it only 10% power to the front, but again, that's just adding to the price.

Yet again I find myself in a problem with my miata. I have it tuned to the max, and I won the first 2 turbo cup races with it. However, the last one is reall annoying me. I got about .5 seconds to the leader one race, but then it went downhill until I hit the 10 second + range. Now I have one last hope - racing tires. My question is, do I want to get hards or med-slicks so I can use the miata on the harder races after begginer, or do I just get cheap sports and let it sit in my garage doing nothing...I could get supersofts, but wont the wear be to bad to use it later? Im notorius for wearing out my tires in a big hurry...maybe 3 laps if Im lucky on a pair of supersofts in GT2...

Pick up the super slicks.

I ran a SIlvia K car that I had won in a previous race for the turbo race. Added a Semi Racing Suspension, sports brakes, chip, racing Muffler, stage 1 turbo, Racing Intercooler, super slicks, and stage 2 weight reduction. I also added a Stage 2 turbo, port polish, Racing Flywheel and full LSD. And I needed all of it. If I hadn’t cut off the 3000 in the last hairpin, he might have won. Autosetting = 27 (should have been 24), HP 294

The break down of the race:
3000gt VR-4: +0.854
Skyline GTS-t Type M: +3.094
Silvia K: +4.294
240SX Fastback: +6.164
TT 1.8T: +8.007

Best Lap: 2’19.230

Also from the "Other" granturismo web site it says to boost your HP to about 280. Run racing tires (Super Slicks).

OK here's my formula for any car I'm going to keep (unless it must remain stock for certain classes) -

1) Lightweight Stage I and II
2) Some cheap horsepower mods
3) Super Slicks or Medium Slicks
4) Everything else, if the car is worth it

The sim tires blow chunks, and the sport tires aren't much better. Don't waste your money. Cut right to super slicks and kick booty. You'll win the turbo cup, which gives you a Daihatsu turbo kei car. Crank that baby up a little and use it to win both the FWD cup and the Lightweight cup.

FWIW - you should have saved the stock Miata to run in the Roadster Enduro, which is pretty much Spec Miata class. Run medium slicks, pit every 8 laps (except the last lap), and you'll win.

HTH!

When the time comes for me to try the miata race Ill just go and get the golds in B liscence...I bought my miata cuz I was to lazy to go for golds. When I get home Ill get some slicks or somthin and try again. And I still have the last NA for my stang to do.......75k, thats alot....Im ganna use a Del Sol CRX I won for the FF cup, the prize from Turbo for FWD, I got FR already, but what shouodl I get for the MR...I need an inexpensive, good handeling MR car. Should I look towards Lotus?

Ok i'm having a blonde moment.

Does that mean i can't 100% the game if i've sold one of the cars i won in the beginner level?

:scared:

slip2rock:

You haven't jeopardized your 100%. the game only counts on Golds in the races, golds in the single races (Arcade), low times in Time trials, and bronze in the license tests.

You'll nail 100% (good luck on TT10, You'll need it)

AO

So, bronze is good enough on the license tests to get 100%?

And Monouk:

Buy a cheep Miata for 16k, throw some 16k medium slicks on it, and run the Roadster Enduro (stock). You get 100,000 credits, plus a 1-in-4 shot at an F1 car. It only takes like an hour and a quarter or less.

why dont I just use my modified miata in the enduro...? I already killed the roadster begginer by like 30 seconds each one. Are the F1 cars MR? the enduros are hard for me though, my thumbs sweat and the accel/brake buttons get slippery...sadly enough...I need to wear gloves or somthin.....
