:sly: Just curious, but, um, what's the longest amount of time you've ever gone without going the sleep? And I'm talking lengths of days, weeks, months, even years here, folks. Consecutive. Me? Oh just three days (this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in a win-lose celebration of the end of summer and the (kinda ****ed-up) start of school again). How 'bout you? :sly:

The longest on record is 100 hours, and that man came out of it slightly, but permanantly, brain damaged. He did it was a radio stunt, stayed on the air for 100 hours straight.

It got so bad that everytime he blinked, his body had a "microsleep".

Allmost 4 days for me, but that was about three quarters of a year ago. I would sit here on GTP in "The Color Blue" thread talking to Sharon, the Bastige, and Mike all night and then during the day I would hang out in "The Rumple Club" and talk to myself. You go a bit crazy after about 2 days.

Well, my best stretch was almost 5 days. 100 hours is the best 359? I should try taking that on. I think I could overcome sleep for 150 hours. How would I go about challenging this guy, though?

If you want to be completely stupid, be my guest...

If you don't realize that lack of sleep anywhere near 100 hours is harmful to your body and mind, then you get no sympathy from me.

Hmm I've gone 2 and a half days without sleep, that was with one of my friends, and a whole lot of sugar, We pulled a 2 day straight Vice city and grand turismo party basically. We both actually fell asleep while playing games.

If I were searching for sympathy, I'd actually sound like it. I was just wanting to beat a record, is all.

Three days. I started to freak out, and starting seeing things that weren't there. Spiders mostly, but other weird things too.

I saw a story, it was a scientific show, about a man who would go to sleep, but his body would not register it as sleep. He started to die, painfully, and very slowly, and the doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong with him. He later went to a sleep study, and they figured it out. He wasn't really sleeping at all when he went to bed at night. He lived with the condition for months before his death, and they feel that he never had any real sleep, ever in his life. It was a disease, actually, with its own name. Can't remember the name of it, but maybe a Google search will help.

In the army, there was a week stretch (M-F) where I had 3 hours sleep on Monday night, until I went to bed sometime around 10pm on Friday. I had sleep isue for the following three days.

My first semester at my second college, not a week went buy without me missing one night of sleep. Can you say work load?

Geez, you're all freaks.

The longest I've stayed up is about 27 hrs straight.

Had a few assessments due in and I left them to the last minute.

After that experience, I STILL don't think I've learnt my lesson.

2 days straight without caffeine or sugar in my system

With caffeine, school has kept me up for 3 days. Usually though, I manage to squeeze 2 or 3 hours of sleep every night during exam time
