My desktop thingy, with the start button (XP) is silver. Anyone know how to make it black? I don't want a style change, just color adjustments.

That isn't possible without modifying your theme file and changing the theme. The best you could do is use Royle Noir. Same style as the default XP but uses a Dark colour scheme.

I reinstalled Windows XP finally, and have this for my current setup.

Very nice but that MSSTYLE is killing it. I would suggest using telusblack by air-canada. It has a nasty looking start menu but if your like me and use docks and icons to launch most of your programs that shouldn't be a problem. It does however have a very simple completely black taskbar which is brilliant when combining with Rainmeter. Also the fonts it uses are very elegant.

Goddamn Cody and Sweetshop, those desktops are hot! 👍

As you can see, temperatures are dropping now. I don't think it even reached 7C today, at home patches of ice were laying around and a week ago we already recieved 20 cm of snow!

Unfortunately, telusblack doesn't not seem to invert the colors of Windows. By that, I mean light gray text on dark backgrounds, which I find vastly more comfortable for my eyes. And the bright highlight for the active Window or a Window that is updated (say a new IM) makes spotting that quite easier. Which is good, since I turn off all my sounds on Trillian....

If you have any ideas that do switch to light on dark, by all means, let me know.

Bram, that is pretty slick. And thanks for the compliment, I'm liking the layout a lot at the moment.

Does anyone know of a calendar bit for Rainmeter or such that will let me actually put notes on certain days? My old Rainmeter back with Litestep would let me schedule on the calender.

EDIT: I'm trying out air-canada's raven theme, and it seems to be working well. Though, the font sizes might be a touch small for the resolution I run.

Try Arachnid out. Judging by the screenshot it looks like you can do notes on a certain day. It does seem quite large though, you could always try scaling it down or comming up with a version yourself. I guess all the complex coding is pretty much complete in that larger calender.

Nice Bram but you really need to sort out the weather alignment. It looks so wierd as it is.

Well, I've been mucking around with that for a bit now. Apparently, he uses RainBrowser, which adds metadata to each .ini file. Which is only supported it seems in the new 1.1 RC1 Beta, which has a bunch of other hassles I don't have the patience for.

So it looks like I may get to edit all the .ini files myself, but it still doesn't seem to be supporting easy editing of the dates.

EDIT: I had to edit 40 lines or so of the .ini file for that calendar to make it happy, but now it works how it should. The reference to the .txt files for each date were part of the users/#user#/ etc etc bit which isn't how mine is setup at all. So, after some copy and pasting, victory.

Looks much better indeed. Especially when I compared them back to back.

Agreed. One of the best things about Enigma is the way it's coded, it's so easy to pick out variables and tweak until you've got the skin just right. Once you know just a few pieces of code you can go on to produce endless combinations. I shall post a desktop later tonight, I'm not on the right PC at the moment.
