Nothing happens. Except you get to pat yourself on the back. The end. 👍
Alot of people are dissapointed at GT5's ending.

The bar will still be there but any XP you win will have no effect, the bar will remain stationary.

Yes very low key. The worst thing is that every race you get the credits, which you click on, then the experience which needs to be clicked on to get rid of it. The Exp points do not add on to anything.

I miss the times in GT5 when you had to race alot to just earn a bit XP.
Before all this 200% login bonus and hugely overpaid seasonals.

I feel the same way too.

Without the login bonus and overpaid seasonals, I would probably be A spec 30-35 which is a fair estimate of my current driving skills. A spec 40 and 'excellent driver' trophy feels hollow when I can't even drive a 111R on CS properly or gold all licenses or special challenges.

However, there are those who rubberband or X-1 their way to A Spec 40 as well. The login bonus and seasonals are not entirely to blame. Getting the A spec the hard way will feel much more satisfying and deserving to GT noob like me.

I wish that at A-40, the PS3 would stop using its resources to calculate XP in online races, Imagine the hundreds of thousands of CPU cycles that could be better allocated to other tasks.

Why does it cap at all? Why lower any incentive to play?

Because online play is it's own reward. This game wasn't intended for the internet-challenged (although, allegedly, there is a following).

Why did they give points to the 24 hour Nurb race in A Spec when you have to be at level 40 to enter? I always thought that entry to this event should have been level 39.
Such a hollow feeling when you finish the race.

is it? I was under the impression it was at 39?

guess I won't be doing that for a while then......

I've been level 39 for so long it's ridiculous I think I hit 39 in feb 2011...... am about halfway through it even with sign in bonus stuff:ouch:....it's because I haven't got time to do the enduro's over and over......:scared:👎

XP is basically made utterly redundant. Which begs the question: Why give so many XP's for the Nürburgring 24H endurance? I reckon any XP earned after lvl 40 should be given as extra money, so for example you earn an extra cr. for every 5xp earned. If not, just let levels carry on and on.

I reached level 40 about a week ago, and the first thing i noticed, was that i didn't gain any XP anymore :(
I think the levels should carry on to at least 75. That would also justify these 200000 XP Seasonal Events!

Level 39 requires 5,919,322 XP to complete. If you are halfway through it you can do one Nurburgring 4 hr. endurance race (4,127,894 XP at 200% bonus) or two of the Indy 500 endurance races (1,501,786 XP at 200% bonus each). The Indy race takes less than 2.5 hrs. to complete.
The latest 650 PP A-spec seasonal race gives 200,000 XP at 200% bonus if you win for a 6.5 minute race. You should be able to reach level 40 in about 1.5 hrs. and 15 races if you actually are halfway in level 39.
Good luck.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic. I would surely hope that the reason they limit it to level 40 isn't because you can play online... that's ridiculous. PD should really assess other genres of games and see how they are using rank and reward systems to prolong play. Obviously if you enjoy driving you are going to play GT5. But there is a lot of untapped potential and a lot to be desired in the current system.
