The gt4 licenses are definitely easier in my opinion.
I'm quite disappointed that the license tests are easier than previously... I was looking forward to some really tough challenges, like the GT3 S license tests.. , although I hear there are a couple of tough ones in there...

I hated the GT1 at cote-d'-azur.
The final S license test in GT3 is a good example of a tricky test... this test made me convert from Automatic to Manual transmission... it was the only way to stop spinning out in 1st gear at those slow corners.

I'm old so I'm not as coordinated as I used to be.
 GT4 is a game for kids of all ages if you ask me! As long as you enjoy it, that's all that matters.

prize car list for the licenses...

so for example, lets say i get all golds for the S license and i get the Ford Model T...does that mean i cannot get the mercury cougar or pontiac solstice because i got golds and not silvers/just completing the license?

If you get all golds, then you get all 3 cars.

Any word own whether the tests in Prologue are the same level of difficulty as those in GT4? I found many of the tests in GT3 alot harder to gold that those in Prologue, particularly the S-licenses, however Prologue has its moments, the infamous Test 13, two laps of New York in the Takata NSX... excuse my French but that test was a beeeatch. :yuck:

Ack!! I spent one entire week to pass that test with gold. That was sooooo friggin' hard, but well, is gratificant to have GT4P all gold :dopey:

Looks like even just getting all silvers will net you a reasonable garage to get started with.

Hi everyone, my first post. This place is very cool. I just got the S-licence of GT3, bronze for all. The Seattle II was the hardest ( 2 and 1/2 hours to get it.. ), however, I made a real breakthrough on the last one ( the Cote d'Azur ) :

I actually watched the demo.

I'd been pounding it for over an hour, and thought, for goodness sake, it certainly won't hurt to watch the demo. I'd done all the licence tests up till then without ever watching the demo.

To those who don't know : it's sooo helpful. After watching it, I got the license in the second attempt. It was like, wow, it's really ok to brake there so much, and still get gold?!??

It makes me wonder how much time I could have saved if I'd watched the demos before ( instead of smashing off walls... smashing off walls... and so on ).

Must say, I'm looking forward to GT4. Even the licenses.

I found all of the New York tests the hardest of the lot...

The Takata Dome 2 laps, The S2000 catchy uppy one & the Ford GT one...

The Ford GT was the hardest of the lot for me... The main reason I had problems is that there are only a few trackside objects that are easily identifiable for braking spots... on a proper course you can use variations in the track and other stuff... but having to use the 3 2 1 counters and the distance markers was annoying as they're quite far apart...

I had to switch to Manual for the Ford GT test... and I can probably drive manual well now... altho when I get the game I'm sure I'll probably be lazy and use auto!!

Some of the tests were impossible to complete auto... Lesson 6 was a manual test... probably cos all you had to do was stick it in 2nd and leave it there... whereas the auto box would keep changing you in and out of 1st and 3rd for no reason... and holding an R2/L2 for the entire 5 laps gets tiring!!

Same here, the S2000 was easy but the other two with the powerful cars were just painful.

Managed to get the Ford GT gold with the DFP a month ago, just a week after buying the wheel. Needless to say, I'm very, very happy about the wheel.

Of the Prologue tracks, New York is definitely the dullest one and I'm afraid George V is even worse. Lots of 90 deg. turns to take at low speeds, very little place, zero visibility and high kerbs that mess up the handling. Forgot to mention the slightly wet asphalt that makes things even harder. I'm NOT looking forward to doing GT4 license tests on those tracks.

I don´t think that the GT4p test´s at NY was so tough but they surely gave me a challenge. The coffe break where you had to hit the cones in random order was annoying. + the one with that car where you had to go a lap at Tsukuba and use under 10 Liters of gas.

But the one i still hate the most is that first dirt test with the stupid Suzuki. Crap car and a boring track, can´t get any worse in my opinion. :yuck:

Yes, that was boring too and probably impossible to do in AT mode.

I haven't bothered with the coffee breaks since they're not really required. Will prolly do them soon to kill some time before GT4 arrives.

i dont think you can import the licnses from GT3, but if you have still got your save you can import 100,000 credits. Im not going to do it, as i like the challenge of managing money! and using the older crappy cars!

Totaly agree with you. I always like the start when you have to struggle a bit. I will not import any money og licenses from gt4p or gt3. I have been waiting to long for this game to take shortcuts.

Uh... I did it with AT and with the Dual Shock :dopey: I got frustrated several times before winning the gold... I think I still have the replay here :D

Is that about GT3 licenses? I would know becase i never did the GT3 licenses :sly: I got GTC and completed it so when i bought GT3 i got all golds in licenses and 10,000,000 credits!! :indiff: Im not going to do the same with GT4 though! I cant wait till Match 9th

OFF TOPIC: If anyone has pre-order GT4 from Game in the uk maybe you can help me. I have pre-ordered a copy a while a go and the release date is March 9th. Will that mean i am guarenteed a copy on March 9th or will i have to wait till they phone me to tell me if my copy is available. I was told i will have priority over on-pre-order customers! I only ask as on March 9th i would go straight to game after skool :dopey:

OT : Yes, I pre-order it from Game but in Sweden :sly: I'm about to do the same thing as you :)
Edit : Yes, you are guarenteed a copy and youcan pick it up the same day, that's what they'e told me.

Certain stores here (Stockholm) open the shop at 00.00 on the release day so you can go and pick up hot titles in the middle of the night. MGS2, Halo2, GTA:SA, HL2, they all got the midnight treatment. Hopefully GT4 will as well!

Heehehe... nope, that was about a GT4P license... Suzuki Alto Works on a dirt track, 5 laps, that was very hard but trying, trying... got it :)

I got GTC completed when I was still doing the licenses on GT3. I had the A-International, so I got S-License in bronze and 10.000.000cr too, but I didn't use them (I think I have 24.000.000cr now :dopey: ), and I passed all S-Licenses one by one, even when they were passed :sly:

Same as Barcelona. The "only" con is I'm living on a town 40km from BCN :dunce:

I´ve forgot this so please don´t flame me.

If u got all gold in GT4P and you Then transfer it to GT4, will you get all gold+cars or all bronze+car? or maybe no car at all?

You'll get the Domestic B and Domestic A license, but no medal! If you want to get the bonus cars, you have to pass the licenses!

kinda sucks. but oh well.... i guess i might aswell practicing getting golds easier in prologue.
The licenses in GT 3 where so hard, i couldn't even get bronze in a long way in the first i-a test

I've been a huge fan of GT from the beginning, but I've never been terribly good at the license. Heck, if memory suits me, it took me 2 months to get my I-A licence. But here is where im confused....my best buddy can get all golds seemingly without trying, but i kick his but in 2p on a regular basis. I'd like to know what gives? Are the license tests a reliable measure of how good a GT player a person is or not? Or am i worring about a whole lot of nothing?

I was actually semi serious about it...ive always wondered why he does so much better on the licenses, but i kick his arse in actuall racing. Its something of a mystery to me.
