i brake left footed for 2 reasons. if i sit longer than 15 mins without moving that part of my body goes numb. and it is also quicker.

our drivers ed was realy dumb. our instructor studdered really bad, didn't know how to teach us how to drive. you cant tell me that you all hop in your car, slap the seatbelt on, drive with both hands (10 and 2). every time? sometimes? never?

slick, you live here too?? i also live in a mostly small town (1800 people) so we dont need anything major to drive

I have to drive with one hand.
The other one shifts.

Left-foot braking isn't necessarily quicker, unless you're in an emergency situation, in which case it's potentially dangerous. Outside of extreme and sudden duress, you shouldn't be in a position where the average sixth of a second to switch from gas to brake pedals isn't enough time to stop properly. I'm sure your driving instructor, however inept, told you about covering your brake. If you get in a predicament, where you do need to smash on the brakes, then having both of your feet trained to help you drive (apart from clutching) will likely cause you to hammer them both down to the firewall on instinct. Thus braking and flooring the gas.

But hey, if it works for you, that's ok.
Both of my teachers just really discouraged it.

First thing I do after sitting down, and before starting the engine.

Driving - or in fact being in a moving car at all, except for when reversing (in the UK) - without wearing a seatbelt is illegal. Still, I hope your face and your windscreen are very happy together - unless of course the airbag gets in the way first. You do know that an inflating airbag has been responsible for several deaths of non-seatbelt wearing drivers/passengers in your country, right?

^ Yup, and when you do survive you will mostlikely have a checkered pattern on your face, Its just there for a while but still funny.

Your damn right I do:rolleyes: Well I always were my seatbelt

Just took my third behind-the-wheel. Downtown driving. It wouldn't be so bad if there wasn't so much construction. I have three more, then I'm set.
