I bought the yellow/black X2010 first which I think looks great. Next will either be the matte black one or the white/black one, although silver looks pretty nice too. :D

If by now you already go to level 40 in both A-spec and B-spec. You have no life! End of story. I love this game and I do play everyday but I'm not going to try ad finish everything really fast. This game is meant to be enjoyed for years until GT6.

sorry please forgive me ... "HAHAHAHAHAAHAHA" ... just had to laugh at "GT6" ... I'm scared to think how full of flaws it will be if this is how PD released GT5 after claiming they took so long in developement b/c Mr YAMAUCHI is such a perfectionist and didn't want to release till perfect ... hahahahahaa - sorry - just I've already dusted off my PS2 so I can go back to playing GT4, it was WAY more FUN ... remember "FUN" Mr YAMAUCHI ... spelled F - U - N, NOT D - U - D!

EUDAEMON88... you don't have to post the exact same screed in several different threads... leaving you this one, because you do have the right to free speech... but seriously... slow down.

Why do you have bad smily at the GT3 99.8% in your signature?

Missions glitch kept me from getting 100% after I finished the last race.

Similar thing in GT4.

Which is why I'm not so concerned about reaching Level 40 in GT5. I'm just punting myself up to a level where I can afford what I want to drive and have the freedom to simply hotlap or race online in whatever manner I like.

I've never heard that before, what was it, that exactly went wrong?

A glitch where if you don't do certain races in order, 99+1 will not equal 100.

hmm, sounds strange, but maybe you're right. Are you sure that it's not one of the races in the Arcade Mode that you haven't driven? - I can remember that, in GT3, there was 10 races in Arcade Mode that you had to race in an exact difficulty and they where counting 0.2% in Game Progress for each race, the exact same that your from 100%... I have 100% completed game progress in all PAL, NTSC U/C and NTSC J... which version have you played?

No way am I reaching level 40 in a spec or b spec, im level 26 in a spec and level 2 in b spec and perfectly happy, reaching level 40 must be boring and pointless.

It's fun for me, but to each his own.

Live after 40 in two Words....
L.A. Noire

So, my objective is: 100% GT5 before L.A. Noire, or if Dirt 3 lauch first, before it
But in 2 days i'm going to buy Black Ops, soo, bye bye GT5

But i'm trying to 100% GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption

No GT Life after 40 for me, since I reached level 40 two weeks ago I have played the game no more than 1hr. I wanted 40/40 but got tired of running B-specs really fast.

A-Spec Lv. 40
B-Spec Lv. 34

in b-spec, i finished the 24Hr of Nurburgring and concluded the Endurance series. the XP given for the race was 3,700,822. at lvl 40, your XP level ceases to go up anymore. your XP meter stays empty.

You mean you get 3.7million credits and they've got nowhere to go? If so, another braindead decision from PD.

the new FGT has 863HP and my old one has 873HP. go figure.

Engine power increases with new cars as the engine runs in. Check the new one after a few days' driving.

I ground up to level 35 in B spec to get the X2010 and to unlock some interesting enduro races. I'll be much slower getting to level 40 - it's a ridiculous amount of grinding to get to ONE more race!!!

As with so many things in this game, WTF were PD thinking?

For that matter, given NASCAR is one of the high profile new features of GT5, why not include the Daytona 500 as one of the enduros, to complement the Indy 500? Perhaps THAT could have been level 35, then make Le Mans say level 37 or 38.

Oh god no, cant be doing with nascar, booring. I doubt I'll be doing any of the endurance races, dont fancy frying our ps3!

Where did people get this impression that an endurance race somehow kills your ps3. The notion is laughable at best, I leave my old 40GB Ps3 on for days at a time - not just for GT5.
3 Years i have been doing this and guess what ? Still as good as the day i took it out of the box.

Fear of YLOD has got to be the single most stupid reason conceivable to not complete an endurance race.

Edit : Sorry i forgot the " power consumption " excuse also.

Like my relationship to COD games after you reach the maximum lvl before prestiging. The game gets boring and then i eventually quit. That's what im afraid about in gt5 because i like the game a lot but I don't want to beat it and then just do online races every day.
=[

I haven't played since I reached a spec level 40. I am a bit burned out after such a grind. I thought the grind to b spec level 40 was bad but it was easy compared to the a spec grind.

For the people that are actually there, is it possible to say, go to 41 and beyond? Or does it just stop?

If it is able to go on, think it would be worth it to go further? In case DLC events in the future just MIGHT make you be higher then Level 40 to participate in?

Sorry did you think GT5 was going to be a full game with a lengthy and varied career? no no no its a prologue extension nothing more IMHO.

People keep on going on about online, but not every one brought this game to play online and thats hardly the point anyways , this should be a full game with a lengthy and varied career not like I say a prologue extension, as lets be honest here that's all it is really, its a good game but hardly full.

In answer to your question no, not as it stands at the moment that is you lot.

To OP: It is possible to go beyond level 40 as the XP bar stays open. BUT, on lvl 40 no matter how much i do races currently (which should earn more XP points) it still stays 0 (Zero). Right now the XP level stopped- it doesn't move. I don't know if PD in their next update/s will make the XP level continue..

I topped the Credit earnings so many times maybe reached 100mill, Gold all Lvl 1-35 & all licenses and collected all the cars i wanted and nothing more except finish the 24 hour Nürburgring Nordschleife and that would be it.

Hope PD would open new levels after 40.

Polyphony are you listening? :)

It just stops. I'm at 40/40 now.

I was pegged at $20m Cr well before hitting 40 in A-Spec, so I made it a point to buy cars I didn't have so I could use the Cr payout from races. In other words, I've got every car in the game now too. (Really wish they'd implemented that check mark thing earlier.)

I've been going back and golding the licenses and special events that I missed gold on and running the seasonals. I've pretty much given up on hitting "gold standard"/"platinum" though since I play with a pad and am not going to buy a wheel at this point.

I'd probably be up for DLC events - especially some rally events.
