Tons of threads asking where it went, followed by a new one started, and it gets thousands of posts in the first hr...

If we had a nice popular IRC chat we wouldnt need it.

/me wants to be a op when it is created.

We've actually tried that a couple times, to no avail. It just doesn't catch on. These people are "Bulletin Board" minds. They don't want live chat. One of the nice things about BB is that the history is permanently saved and can be looked back on quite easily.

Instead of IRC, I've mentioned to Jordan that he could use a veriety of web chat services. There are a few I've seen that are rather nice. I do understand the simple joy in IRC though. I was an OP in several large channels on Undernet "back in the day". IRC is just a good thing, plain and simple. I could setup an IRC server on GTPlanet's server and everything would be super simple and ready to go. Then everyone could choose their own client, and Jordan could provide a Java client through a web browser as well. My goodness, it makes me want to push for it one more time.

Probably won't happen. Oh well.

We arn't saying delete it, we're saying close it, or something.

Well, HE is. I'm not saying to do anything.

close it, delete it, send it to Ethiopia, doesn't matter, really!

Yeah pretty much. I'm just saying that suddenly if it were to disappear (not that I even want it to) what would be the reaction.

well, Mista and Josh, and various other regular posters there would probably die of apoplexia after noticing their post counts are down by about 6000, meanwhile 3000 threads would pop up asking why it was closed or deleted...

and then life would continue as it was, possibly with a new one that would never expand itself to the greatness of the current one.

Sorry, but I had to vote for Gary Coleman's famous line!

Good one Loudmusic!

I think that if HMRCWG got closed or whatever, it will resurface in soo many ways as many members try to recreate it to try to bask in the "glory" of their resurerection of it!
Then it would turn into a popularity contest!

I'd be happy and thankful if it were to just disappear.:D Not really disappear, but closed. Also, if we could subtract the number of times we posted in it from our total post counts, I'd be even happier.:p

It sucks being cursed with such a high post count just because I like to talk with fellow GTP'ers about nothing in particular.

I really wish that it would just be moved to the Test Forum.:D Posts wouldn't count at all, but we'd still be able to chat with eachother.;)

"Never Summer"

That way I could snowboard all year round.
It's also the name of a Denver based snowboard company! They build some high quality snowboards. (very expensive though)

Avatar by Snoopie Design Studios.

Just a quick "plug" there!

NO!

Josh,

Why is it a "curse" to have a high post count?
I don't think that it's a curse cus you like to talk with the GTP community! I think thats great!

It just sucks knowing that over 50% of my entire post count is all in one thread.:nervous: Makes me look like a post-whore(which I sorta am, but it sucks IMO)

I don't really care about my post count, and I think they should be done away with (Jayyy has hinted about this...)

You scared me, LoudMusic - HMRCWG isn't at the top of the page like it usually is, and I thought you had posted this thread because we were now going to start getting used to 'life without HMRCWG!'
