I think a new thread would be created, but hopefully one made warning postwhores to keep out.

I suggested that to Jordan once upon a time. He decided that it would cause too much trouble.

I tend to agree.

Well, I never go there any more since I got the 75,000th post. I guess the novelty just wore off. Supposedly I have about a hundred posts in that thread, but I find it hard to believe, because I only remember making about 10 of them.

Anyway, I support HMRCWG as an institution. I just wish it was put to better use. Besides, I think it does act sort of like a bugzapper for useless posts/threads - they get sucked in there and disappear, instead of buxxing around out here.

Something would replace it - I saw the comments above regarding a live chat site, but I wonder if the HMRCWG closing coincided with the opening of a basic chat service if the result might be different to previously.

Actually, a chat service would be interesting, in terms of altering relationships between members. Mmm...

What I've found from several failed attempts at starting a chatroom on various networks ... no one showed up for days.

Maybe a poll for "most popular IRC network" would be in order. Or maybe a different chat service all together is in order. *shrug* I like web BBs now. I did the chat thing, it got old.

FOUR THOUSAND POSTS! Yeah, whatever.

You might be right, Loud. We've certainly proven in the last week or so that we don't play very nicely when we have the ability to respond immediately to one another.
