I've noticed in the last couple minutes 2 seperate messages with links embeded in the text. One was in one of my posts-- I went to the edit screen for that message and the link wasn't there, so I went back to the message and it was gone.

The 2nd one was in another thread and I moused over it so you can see the link on the status bar-- they both had the same address.

I'm not sure if this is just on my computer or if its a problem with this site. Here is a screenshot I took of it the 2nd one I found.

Can everyone keep on the look out for this and post back here if you see one.

Thanks,

Spuds

I would say it's on your computer Spuds. I haven't noticed this (and this is something I would notice), and I didn't see it in your post above.

Must be a problem on Spuds' end. I used to have a few things mess up on GTP, and sometimes was unable to connect to the site, when other people were perfectly fine. I bet this will go away quickly.

Its my computer alright, I just found 2 more links in messages at another board-- I'm actually at work right now, its not my PC and there is definitely spyware on this computer....sorry for wasting everyones time--- you can let this message drop.

And before you tell me to download spybot (and friends)-- I don't have admin privilidges on this PC so I can't install anything here.

Thanks for checking everyone.

Yeah no problem. So the Spyware is putting a link in random places for you to click on and get the virus? That's probably an obvious statement, but don't point that out.

To me it looked like it searched all the text in the browser and linked keywords to search results...

No and the following other words get linked also-- its on any site I visit.

Anal, Travel, Business, Bed, I know there are other but I can't remembre them now

Thanks, but if you read the entire thread you will know I can't install that.

You should discuss this immediately with the administrator of the PC.

This is sort of like what I want to have built into the forums. Sure would be neat if it were oriented toward Gran Turismo ...

Isn't that Microsoft's "Smart Tags" thingie? I think you can turn it off in IE. Anyway, the easy fix (for Jordan) is to just add this to the head of every page:
Code:
<meta name="MSSmartTagsPreventParsing" content="true" />
I always do that, because those hideous things always mess up sites.
