Welcome to GTP M 👍

A list of "Best cars" has already been made in many aspects, speed, handling, style, etc....you probably haven't been here long enough to realize that we have two lists of very useful FAQ's...

check these two out and you'll find more than what you need ;) (BTW, they are called stickies and they are at the top of the page and say "READ THIS"....Also make the SEARCH function your friend.)

FAQ's 1

FAQ's 2

If you are talking about best cars in styling wise, then that would be up to you...If you need further advice on how to use the forums, don't hesitate to click the advice for new members on my sig...so long and good luck.

Ciao!

Also, "best" cars is very subjective. I think the Chaparal 2J is the 2nd or 3rd fastest car in the game, but many others think that the Pescarolo '04 or Audi R8 get those honors.

Exactly. There will be disagreements among members on making a "best car" list.

The most important thing is best for what. If you are considering a-spec points then the best cars are the Elise Type 72, the black 787B (or the R390) and the Dodge RAM (although this is only there due to a programming error that gives this car far more points than it should get).

Then there might be best for looks - totally subjective and impossible to answer.

Then there might be best for b-spec training - I can't remember what cars go here - a MX5 Miata, a 350Z and some JCGT car from memory.

Then you might want best for easy wins - probably something like the Toyota 88C-V, a high powered FR (M5, SL600) and a 4WD (an Imprezza, Skyline or Lancer).

But the question really needs to be asked for a particular series - a lot of cars are needed to complete the game (probably 40-50+) and there are almost always many cars that can be used for any given series.

I also nominate the Mazda 787B. It is really an amazing racer. I've been using the carbon black version for the FGT series 200 point assault and it is such a great vehicle. Despite only having five speeds it can really hang with the Formula One vehicles. It has a tight turning radius, very good balance, it's light and delivers excellent tire wear and fuel mileage. It's low HP doesn't seem to be much of a hindrance. It can easily win any race that allows LMP race vehicles. One of the finest sleeper vehicles in GT4.

Almost any Honda 2000. They're light, powerful and stick to the road like glue.

The Shelby Series One. A more powerful version of the Honda 2000.

Um, right. The 787B in no way is a sleeper. It was BANNED from Le Mans 24 Hours... It was heaven on wheels. It was like the GT40, 510, and R8 :D

Actually, you are wrong on both counts.
The 787b was a sleeper, because it was slow as all hell compared to the other cars in the race that year (mostly due to it's rev limiter and lack of torque). And the 787b wasn't banned from Le Mans (though you were much closer than your other point), but Wankel rotary engines in general were banned (pointlessly) in all FIA races for fear it would permutate into F1 or something. Which is why the FD RX-7 never really had international racing success.
Every single other Group C car (well, maybe not the Minolta, ironically enough) should be faster than the 787b. The only one that is really definitively slower is the Peugoet 905, which is odd as it should probably be close to the fastest car in the game, if only due to it's handling prowess.

Thats what I meant, rotary... Well I mean, come on it's a race car. Sleepers are saposed to cars like... Mitsubishi Starion, Ford Escort Cosworth, Renault 5... so on and so forth.
