I've been looking throughout GT6 and GTP of course for semi premium vehicles, and I'm going to create a list of these vehicles so you don't have to stuff around finding them. If I've missed some, let me know and I will add to it.

Cars that are Premium by the exterior's appearance? So something like the Yellow Bird with no interior detailed, but not like the Prowler that has one?

It's possible a thread like this has been made which is why I'm inquiring. And I've refused myself the luxury of driving certain cars in GT6 for whatever reason... if that makes any sense.

what do the semi premium cars have compared to the standard ones? do they have an interior view with a couple of details? I don't buy cars without an interior view except for the paints and after I buy it I sell it, so I've never drove any of them.

Semi-Premium cars have exteriors which are virtually Premium but have no interiors. If you want to try one try the Nissan R390 GT1 Road Car which is a great car anyway but it can be tuned to compete with practically anything.

No.

Cars that were given a retouched bodywork and, in some cases, an incomplete interior - for example, the R390 Road Car.

Oh ok, I guess all those semi-premium cars are going to stay in the dealership then. ^^
PD should make an effort and make all these cars fully premium not just the Japanese cars as I'm not much of a Japanese cars fan at all.

Especially some of the older Japanese and US cars seem to have had improvements made. It's hard to tell for sure, but I find that by looking closely at the wheelarches you see if the polygon-count has been improved.

PS:Not my picture.

Does the Catherham 7 and Chrysler Prowler count? It has an interior but the dials don't work at all.
Same with the 2J.
I don't know really. Those cars also had interior with no working dials. Atleast Caterham got a little updated with the bodywork (taillights and hood etc.) I don't know about others.

I don't know for sure because I have no real experience prior to the current game, but I presume increased lit headlight count in high beam over low--in the case of the KPGC110 GT-R) and an optional natural finish carbon fiber hood (Miatas, FTOs, Peugeot 106s) and front lip (Miatas) are also product of further refinement.

@another_jakhole thank you for that comment. I'm so sick of the only mention of Miatas being complaints of there being too many but no (insert car name here).

@LeoStrop shame it's not yours--that's one fine dime.

What I wouldn't give to have a Bluebird 510! Such a nice looking car.

The Chrysler Prowler '02 is pretty much a premium with a few rough edges. It's even got a working tachometer! Really not sure why they didn't go full-premium with this one. Will upload pics when I get back home (if I can remember to).

Wait so the R390 doesn't have a blacked out interior? I need to buy this thing now.

It does, just that you can see red seats and a bit of the dashboard from outside of the car, rather than completely undetailed black. The FTO has a similar feature.

Where would the Suzuki gsx go in? It is the worst detailed car in the game, but its not standard.

The Mazda Furai is semi-premium? Last time I used photomode it looked like crap.
"Semi-premium" seems to just be shorthand for "cars that PD did something to". It's pretty useless as a term when cars like the Alpine are held in the same light as the Ruf models when PD completely rebuilt the latter from scratch and did nothing more than model shutlines (without removing the shutline textures!) for the former.

I've been looking throughout GT6 and GTP of course for semi premium vehicles, and I'm going to create a list of these vehicles so you don't have to stuff around finding them. If I've missed some, let me know and I will add to it.

There are 4 levels of how cars look. 1) Full premiums 2) Semi-premiums 3) Upgraded standards 4) Full standard.

The Holden Commodore SS '04 is my daily driver/hoon/drift car, and in my opinion its 100% standard. Jaggedy around all windows and fenders and side roof lines, stock wheels have jagged edges too with a 2D look, no interior, no horn, and no flickering headlights, and the stock exhaust looks cartoony. The aftermarket wheels come only in stock size. I judge it by how it looks in replays or the showroom. In photo mode most if not all standard cars look better, so its not evidence.

Below is my car in photo mode. It should look better than what you would normally see in-game, but still the windows/fenders/roof side lines are jagged.

Thats definitly a (well) upgraded standard, if not you wouldt have those little jaggies around those windows but some ugly blocky textures instead. It even has nicely modeled 3d windscreen wipers and door handles which are in standard cars mostly textures only.

And the cars look in photomode exatly as during gameplay!

Do you know that if you're taking some photo in a race with opponents premium cars (i'm not sure about the player's car) then you would notice that they have a low quality interior compared to if you're taking photos in the photo travel with cars then you would have the normal high quality interior.
