I downloaded those free limited time outfits from the PS store, I dont have the game yet and was wondering... WHERE ON EARTH DID THOSE OUTFITS SAVE TO? I cant find them anywhere!
Apollo is correct and some add-ons you have to install manually, and some update the game file itself.
However, like the LBP costume add-ons, most add-ons are automatically installed (no bubble in Game menu).
The installation process in most cases, like the LBP costume add-ons, places or updates a file specifically for that game inside your Game Data Utility folder, which is at the top of the Game menu in the XMB.
So if you want to be sure you have the add-ons installed, open your Game Data Utility folder, and it should be near the top (as it is sorted by most recent). If you do not see any LBP file, then you should check your Download List from the PSN store, or from your Managing Account Information menu in he XMB.
Just as a reminder though, add-ons, like the ones for LBP, for most games are for specific regional versions of a game. In other words, if you have the EU version of LBP, then the costume add-ons from other regional PSN stores won't work and vice versa.
Perhaps even more importantly, at least here in the USA, as long as someone is making a parody, most copyright laws do not apply. Considering the nature of LBP, pretty much everything is a parody considering the unique application, interface, and look of the game.I swear I read something somewhere stating that user generated content is not applicable to copywrite laws. Something to the effect of if a user creates their own content that includes copywrited material, the copywrite hold would have to try and sue the user, but since that is insanely cost prohibitive it essentially protects the user crated content.
The problem though is that LBP is not limited to US markets. Now perhaps, if copyright infringements are truly the issue here, I suppose they could create separate regional LBP communities, there by limiting access to community levels only in your region... and applying specific laws to those specific regions... but this would naturally limit access to levels from creators outside your region, as well as possibly limit your ability to play with your friends from other regions as well.
That is what they are saying, and understandably, what LBP creators want to know is what specifically was it about their levels were violations of the EULA, and why were their levels apparently deleted in stead of simply removing them from the Community access and allowing them to change them.Unless they are claiming the 'moderations' are due to EULA infractions and I am way off base.
Sam, the Senior Community Development Manager for MM, has stated that they understand the frustration, and posted the following response:
Sam_ProtagonistWe have been looking into the current issues surrounding the moderation of LittleBigPlanet levels, as it is clear that we're not currently going far enough to inform users who have had a creation moderated why the action was necessary. We are moving towards a system whereby rather than receiving a generic message any affected user will also receive an indication of what was found to be infringing on the EULA. We're additionally looking to provide clear, plain language directions on what is and is not acceptable to be published through the game.
Until these changes come in, my official recommendation is that any creations you publish do not infringe on any copyright or otherwise include language or imagery that is not suitable for an audience of all ages. We'll have more comprehensive guidelines soon, but for now the EULA states the following :
You agree that you will not create, transfer, share, send, submit or upload any User Generated Content that:
- is protected by copyright, patent, trademark or trade secret or otherwise subject to third-party proprietary rights, including but not limited to rights of privacy and publicity (unless you are or have permission from the rightful owner);
- contains fraudulent statements or misrepresentations that could damage SCE or any third party;
- contains any statements or materials that disparage, ridicule or scorn SCE or any third party;
- is obscene, defamatory, threatening, harassing, predatory, pornographic, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive, or encourages conduct that would violate any law or is otherwise inappropriate;
- is an advertisement or solicitation of business;
- is an impersonation of another person; or
- violates any of the rules of Online Conduct, other terms of this Agreement, terms of the PSN Terms of Service and Usage Agreement or any other terms related to this game
For the time being, if you believe your level has been moderated and you don't know why please contact me via private message including the level title and your PSN ID and I'll investigate
