Sincerly I do t see any ispiration on this thread. In my opinion ispiration is when you create a livery by your own, not copying a real livery on a different car. When you choose a sponsor that ispired you and you create something different around. I have a background on forzamotorsport and I see so many original livery, in Gt I don't see this.... The livery community is very young here, and have still to grow up, I think is normal.

The inspiration is from the original livery.
I see nothing wrong in trying to recreate an iconic motorsport livery. Just as I see nothing wrong with creating a new livery from scratch. There are plenty of new liveries. It's just a matter of preference.
I certainly see no need to denigrate the efforts of those that have chosen to post their efforts here, just as I wouldn't expect them to do likewise to anyone else's livery. Just because it may not be your preference doesn't mean the same must hold true for everyone else.

Denigrate? No man you don't understand, I create classic livery too. But I just explain my point of view, for me if I copy a Jegermeister livery or a classic livery from a Bmw to another Bmw is just a reply of an existant livery, I don't see any ispiration. But i'm the first that made replica paint so I don't denigrate. I only think that people still have to discover what they can do using imagination on a race car and not just doing something that already exist.

Sorry for my misunderstanding. I think we're interpreting the word inspiration in different ways.
It's the original livery that inspires fans to try to recreate them. Those iconic liveries are iconic for a reason, so it's no wonder people try to recreate them as best they can.

I kinda agree, I think I've done maybe 2 liveries that I didn't use a real one as a guide. And it was much more difficult. I am not the creative type but I see the challenge in making a copy of the original given the confine of the system. But trying to coming up with something that might be "realistic" and still be original is a pretty challenging thing IMO. I have fun eitherway though.

I think ispiration is also when you follow a real livery and you change some detail, but in this thread I see also replica's paint, there's not ispiration in a replica, is just a work of research of sponsor and make them for the copy of the real car.
I don't know if I don't undertand the meaning of the post, correct me if I'm wrong......for example
ISPIRATION

REPLICA/COPY

I hear what you are saying Uccio21, and ou are interpretting the word inspiration entirely correctly in that context. However, you can also use the word to convey the fact that something has stimulated you to do something. In this case the iconic livery has inspired you to attempt to recreate it, as opposed toa flash of inspiration that caused you to design a new livery.
Its an easy enough thing to misinterpret for those of us for whom English is our first (and in a lot of cases only) language.
