well Loeb is probably the best driver in WRC on tarmac, and pretty much all good race drivers in the world know all too well that rally is the most challenging discipline there is when it comes to motorsport

Hopefully Loeb doesn't act like the other borrowed French driver that Pescarolo normally uses, Sebastian Bourdais, and punt someone off this year then act like a **** afterwords...

i don't like bourdais. i hope loeb does well....but i don't think he should get special treatment or attention just because he's a WRC driver.

Feh, Loeb's okay on tarmac, but Gilles Panizzi is the 'effin MAN on tarmac.

Anyways, good on Loeb to realize that the WRC is really hurting right now and that a career switch is in his best interests. I hope this Pescarolo ride develops into something full time in either FIA GT or one of the Le Mans series.

Preferably ALMS since so many new LMP2 teams are coming out of the woodwork.

Yea, Loeb should be fine on tarmac, but just like McRae last year, he's not experienced at endurance driving and could do with a lot of practice to adjust, 'cos Le Mans is renowned as being the ultimate test of endurance in the world. If he does the event in 2006, he will iron out his mistakes he might make this year. Very quick learner he is!

In a way, though, rally is somewhat an endurance race, as well. Rally stages are long and difficult, and there's little rest between stages. I think he drives as much nearly continuously as he will be doing in his turn at the wheel of the Pescarolo.
