Sure thing :)
I'll get one this week or next, depending on the circumstances.

EDIT: I thought I'd put a couple pictures up to show my progress on achieving decent drift angles as if anybody cared :) I tried to put them in a spoiler box to save space but it didn't want to behave like other websites..

I have a long way to go, but I'm certainly feeling more comfortable the more I drive
(Apologies for my poor photography skills, but I can't record replays so yeah)

Correct! I am copying from a friend who uses a Fanatec GT3.

"You should know however that the clutch system in GT5 is nor progressive like in real cars but more an ON-OFF system. In addition you have to time shifting with accelerating (you have to release fully the accelerator before shifting) otherwise neutral kicks in and if you get that in a pressing situation go figure.
Then again if you like the idea so much and you intend to invest a lot and a lot of time to get used to the clutch then it is definitely worth it since besides the realistic feel you get, expert drivers achieve somewhat faster times (a thing that will not be accomplished by me I am afraid)"

(Mars_Attacks)

I don't know about it being a off and on switch. The 2 main people I know that drift with it. They ride the clutch in say 3rd Gear on take off. The is going but gear isn't high lighted so signaling the clutch is still engaged.

The tenchenomitors in the G27's clutch pedal are not the best at all. My friend here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yejwjC6qK9w&feature=youtube_gdata_player

He has moded that G27 so many times it isn't going to be able to get it back to its original state. He has taken the tenchenomitors out of the DFGT and put the in the G27 took give it more feel. But i don't know about it being a on and off switch but i know it is sensitive

I can't watch you-tube right now because I am at work and I do not know what tenchenomitors are:dunce:. But from personal experience I can assure you that touching the clutch when the accelerator is not fully released instantly gets you to neutral. And also you can not disengage the clutch gradually, as in the case of when you try to avoid too much spinning on launch.

Thats because there is no such thing. The G27 uses potentiometers, not tenchenomiters, or whatever the hell that word is supposed to be. Looked it up on Google and there is no such word, lol.

tenchenomiters is actually what i meant to say. But yes the G27 uses potentiometers. But you could have just said that.

Spelling isn't my best subject so don't have to rub it in. You could have said that differently to not to sound rude. Or could have just corrected it or asked if I meant this. Don't know if you meant that in a insulting way or not but looks like it.

Anyway

I wasn't rubbing it in or trying to be rude. Actually, I was being light-hearted about the whole thing as evidenced by the "lol" at the end of my post. Sorry if you took it any other way. I was not trying to insult you.

All good that's why i asked. Wording gets confused it's all good. I ask before I assume. Hahahaha.

I know this is from an older post, but something you said here caught my eye, and if you still haven't figured it out it could seriously mess up your learning how to drift.

To clarify, I'm not trying to rotate the wheel all the way around 900 degrees, I'm saying to get to the point of countersteer I would normally use, I have to have my arms in an incredibly uncomfortable position or be forced to let go of the wheel.

You are most definitely going to have to let go of the wheel while drifting, unless it's a really small powerslide or something. 99% of the time when you are drifting on purpose your angle will be such that you are going to need to let go of the wheel and then catch it at the right time and point in the wheel's travel.

Yeah I figured this out after a few days of practice. I've not mastered it yet but I'm learning when and when not to let go of the wheel and where to grab it again for quicker direction changes. Thanks for the thought :) it was something I seemed to pick up on my own as I practiced

UrieHusky i asked them and they said yes to the clutch not just being a on and off switch. They said you can slowly lift off the clutch on take off to decrease wheel spin and graduly accelerate. But the clutch is sensitive so you have to find where you can do that at. I have seen him do this in a tandem battle before his way of giving courtesy roll.

Shift lock however I haven't got a answer on that yet. You have to let off the gas all the way to shift or it registers a miss shift. That is what I heard

So it's sort of like finding the biting point on a real clutch.
I can live with that. I'm sure I'll find all this stuff out after getting it and getting used to it.

I think my priority for the minute will be getting a better desk, after driving solidly for 8 hours yesterday I had chronic ankle pain in my left foot from the brake because I can't put the pedals very far behind where the wheel sits because of my desks design =/

Yeah well i just got wire everything in the basement and find something to use as a mount. I had a jresser but that wouldn't be able to fit to move it.

But now I have the whole basement to fill up with my stuff so I can't wait to finish it. My underground man cave hahaha

Haha man cave, I like it.

I used to have a nice setup with a couch and a table, it was a little low but it functioned. Never tried drifting like that since I couldn't move the wheel easily, it was really only suitable for 'clean' driving, but at least my ankles didn't feel like they were about to eject in protest.

Here.. because my pedals are so close it's a very unnatural sitting position and I can't modulate the brakes very easily. Or rather, I can but it stuffs my ankle up after a few hours play. So yeah, new desk then new wheel me thinks

Yep i hear you. Feels sort of like a "fat guy in little coat". Hahahaha
