Received the shifter today and had a lot of fun jumping back into DR2 after many months. Since apparently I have the older plate, I picked this diagonal setup, which quickly felt very natural. I might try the one with the shifter on the clamp, for a lower position. Driving the historical H1 event with the mini was great this way! A significant improvement in feel compared to the original logi shifter 👌

Interesting that you put the handbrake up close to the wheel, rather than the other way round.

What's the rationale behind this?

I have the old plate like you. I tried setting mine up differently yesterday; I wanted to put the H at the back right position on top of the clamp, and then have the handbrake hanging off the back of the clamp so the handle is slightly lower than the gear shift knob. Wasn't possible though. Not with the old plate. The back-right set of holes are too close to the center of the plate. The clamp fits fine but its not possible to bolt the handbrake unit to the back of the clamp because its too close to the Playseat body. I guess maybe I could try using the twist clamp rather than bolts to attach the clamp to the mounter plate...

I'm pretty happy with my diagonal set-up. Just open to seeing if other setups are even better.

I have to say, I'm a little impressed. Both from Logitech and from me. ;-) Announced yesterday, today on my rig. Wooden board, black tape. So far I have only driven one race from the Power Pack in GT7 (Honda Civic) with VR2. That really makes you happy with the H Shifter. I drove manual transmissions for a long time in real life, maybe that helped. The changeover to braking with the right foot and coupling worked quite well. The shifter feels really good.

The sequential shifter also does well as a hand rest without a gear knob. It's already a bit close to the body, but it's still going. A matter of getting used to. I ordered a USB switch, with which I can hopefully switch between the two shifters at the push of a button. But I'm not sure yet if it works with the base and the PS5. Should come the next few days.
Just a little update. Added the USB Switch for switching between H and sequential. Works perfect on the fly in game. Tried it with GT7 and EA WRC. And i flipped the sequential around to get the stick a little bit more closer to the wheel. Mapped the up and downshifts accordingly. I like it a lot. I think its a good solution when you want it all. ;-)
