Received the shifter today and had a lot of fun jumping back into DR2 after many months. Since apparently I have the older plate, I picked this diagonal setup, which quickly felt very natural. I might try the one with the shifter on the clamp, for a lower position. Driving the historical H1 event with the mini was great this way! A significant improvement in feel compared to the original logi shifter 👌

Interesting that you put the handbrake up close to the wheel, rather than the other way round.

What's the rationale behind this?

I have the old plate like you. I tried setting mine up differently yesterday; I wanted to put the H at the back right position on top of the clamp, and then have the handbrake hanging off the back of the clamp so the handle is slightly lower than the gear shift knob. Wasn't possible though. Not with the old plate. The back-right set of holes are too close to the center of the plate. The clamp fits fine but its not possible to bolt the handbrake unit to the back of the clamp because its too close to the Playseat body. I guess maybe I could try using the twist clamp rather than bolts to attach the clamp to the mounter plate...

I'm pretty happy with my diagonal set-up. Just open to seeing if other setups are even better.

I have to say, I'm a little impressed. Both from Logitech and from me. ;-) Announced yesterday, today on my rig. Wooden board, black tape. So far I have only driven one race from the Power Pack in GT7 (Honda Civic) with VR2. That really makes you happy with the H Shifter. I drove manual transmissions for a long time in real life, maybe that helped. The changeover to braking with the right foot and coupling worked quite well. The shifter feels really good.

The sequential shifter also does well as a hand rest without a gear knob. It's already a bit close to the body, but it's still going. A matter of getting used to. I ordered a USB switch, with which I can hopefully switch between the two shifters at the push of a button. But I'm not sure yet if it works with the base and the PS5. Should come the next few days.
Just a little update. Added the USB Switch for switching between H and sequential. Works perfect on the fly in game. Tried it with GT7 and EA WRC. And i flipped the sequential around to get the stick a little bit more closer to the wheel. Mapped the up and downshifts accordingly. I like it a lot. I think its a good solution when you want it all. ;-)

This setup was most similar to my previous one. To me, having the sequential shifter closer to the wheel feels more natural when I use it as a shifter. And H shifters are typically lower and to the right of the seat, so its position is as close as it gets. Mounting it lower using the clamp would be more realistic, I think?

I’m jealous. Mine comes Tuesday.
Me too. Mine shipped from all the way across the continent. Pretty sure it's coming by train. That's how the G-Pro traveled from the same location the shifter is coming from.

Yup mine too
Original delivery date at LogitechG.com showed Shifter and Hub getting here on Tuesday the 24th. As of tonight, site reports it's already in state and delivery scheduled for Monday the 23rd. 👏 to the Logitech team @LOGI_Rich! I don't think it took the train this time from Chino.

I ordered mine in the evening on the 17th and their site is still telling me it will be delivered Monday the 23rd... even though both Logitech and FedEx say "Awaiting Carrier Pickup". I'm really not sure what to do, but to wait. Glad you're having better luck thought.

Email from Logitech reports all has been delivered. Won't be home for about 3 hours to verify and start the configuration efforts.

Now I want the sequential shifter 😳

Aaand, down the rabbit hole you go mister. :D

All of my order is here as well and no, I don't want the sequential.

Just got done getting it mounted to the frankenrig.

@LOGI_Rich Shifter cable came up short by about 20" (51cm), very rough measure . Extensions inbound. We'll see if the 18" (46cm) I've already ordered, scheduled to arrive on Wednesday, are enough. I have a sneaking suspicion I'll be ordering another, longer extension. :(

If all goes well I should have the shifter hot by this weekend.

I spent 10 hours in GT7 driving only cars with a manual transmission. The shifter itself is a natural addition to a complete G Pro setup. It’s not a product that creates a “wow” effect on its own — it complements the existing setup and makes the whole thing feel complete.

Of course, the shifter is built with excellent quality—don’t get me wrong. Its operation feels very natural. Logitech has done a great job balancing the stiffness when shifting gears. I used to own a 2007 Honda Accord with a manual transmission, and I can confidently say that this shifter works almost exactly like the one in that Honda.

Another thing that deserves praise is the separation of seventh gear and reverse from the rest. There’s no chance of accidentally engaging those gears. What’s more, during those 10 hours I didn’t accidentally shift into the wrong gear even once. I don’t know how Logitech achieved this, but I always engage exactly the gear I want, and it happens very smoothly.

As for gameplay and whether it’s worth having a shifter like this—I would definitely say yes. If someone is looking for a challenge, I suggest taking a stock Lamborghini Countach on comfort soft tires, turning off the HUD completely, switching to cockpit view, and trying to do a fast, clean lap of the Nürburgring with a manual transmission. It took me an hour and a half to achieve that, and I still only managed an 8:06.

Mastering such an old car on such a technical track, on those tires, with such weak brakes—while using a manual gearbox and clutch—was hardcore for me personally. You really have to pay attention to when you press the clutch and when you shift. And it adds a huge amount of realism.

I highly, highly recommend it, and I feel like there are still hundreds of hours ahead of us.

@LOGI_Rich I only have one small question: I currently have the shifter mounted using just two screws in the middle row because the plate is missing holes for the remaining screws. Is it okay to leave it like that? I wouldn’t want to damage the shifter, and sometimes during aggressive shifting it feels like it moves slightly.

The shifter has finally arrived, and it's exactly what I was hoping for!

The shifting feel is finally realistic, and the immersion skyrocketed.

I mounted it on a profile of my Sim Lab GT1 Evo without the need for plates or mounts.

I used two corner brackets (the ones provided), two 25 mm M6 Allen bolts, and two 20 mm carriage bolts.

Just screw the carriage bolts under the shifter so it can slide inside the profile without forcing it, but without being loose.

Experiment a bit, tighten and loosen the bolts until you find the right fit.

Slide the shifter into the profile, tighten the other two bolts into the corner bracket, and voilà: the shifter is 100% rock solid.

Many thanks to @LOGI_Rich and the team for listening to us and making our wish come true!

You might have misread the equation? 20mm is the length inside the shifter, but you need extra on top of that to account for the thickness of what you're attaching it to, so Length (L) of the bolt = Thickness (T) of what you're attaching it to + 20mm.

It's strongly recommended that you drill a couple more holes.
I drilled additional holes in the plate, and now both shifters are mounted on the four outer screws, and there is a noticeable improvement.

If anyone is thinking of mounting them using only the two middle screws like I before, I strongly advise against it.

I recommend printing the template provided by Rich.

@LOGI_Rich, I'm familiar with the L+T procedure and I asked for carriage bolts with a 20 mm thread after the square part (that is a perfect fit in the 8020 profile)

Guess what: the hardware store guy sold me carriage bolts with a 15 mm thread! 😂

Going from 4th to 7th is easier than I’d like in my case. If you’re against the lockout it feels like there’s more resistance but if I’m in 4th with the shift lever pushed to the right before moving it forward I’m ending up in 7th quite a few times. Hopefully someone comes out with a gated shifter plate blocking 7th gear, loving the shifter otherwise.

So everything decided to deliver on the same day today. So a longer post talking about 3 items:
  • Logitech RS H Pattern Shifter
  • Logitech RS Formula Wheel McLaren Edition
  • RogueRacing Designs 330mm round wheel

Logitech RS H Pattern Shifter

I have it mounted up to my rig the same way that I had my Simagic DS-8X. Like the DS-8X, I can only get 2 of the bolts onto it unfortunately. I have the two front bolts in. That said, it's no less stable than the DS-8X was. The shifter is a huge upgrade to the Logitech G DrivingForce shifter. The mechanical-ness is not quite where I'd want it to be. In many ways, it reminds me of how the Fanatec H-pattern/Sequential shifter feels. Each gear kind of clicks into place. In each of the gear slots, there still is quite a bit of play as I can still kind of push the gear lever past where it should engage. I do like the lockout mechanism since it mimics what my actual car does. I haven't had any missed gears which is something I can't say about the DrivingForce Shifter that Logitech offers so functionally it works great for me. In contrast, the DS-8X (which was being run through DriveHub) has a very notchy mechanical feel with each throw being extremely positive. On the DS-8X, each gear kind of comes in with a nice satisfying clunk that locks itself securely each time. Outside that, I do wish that Logitech had done what Fanatec, Simagic, and others have done... An H-pattern + sequential shifter combo. It is what all the other competition has that they currently don't offer. What I'd also possibly love to see is a way to hot swap the H-shifter and sequential using some sort of quick release plate or something. That would probably also work for me. Overall, I am going to keep using the RS H shifter going forward, with DriveHub no longer supported I would prefer to be off of that personally.

I don't have any photos of the H-shifter here. Was a little too lazy to take photos, but everyone and their mother has already posted photos here anyways.

Logitech RS Formula Wheel McLaren Edition

This is supposed to release April 15 according to Rich. I'm not actually sure why Best Buy was selling it a month early, but they were. It measures out for me around 282mm in width compared to the 290mm Track rim that Logitech also currently offers. With respect to formula-style rims, it is the only other one I have to compare with. My SimPush and MPI GT330 are both a tad bit large for true formula-style and are more GT-style rims.

IMG_8567.webp

McLaren Rim on top, Track Rim on bottom.

The Track rim that Logitech originally offered with the RS Hub had lots of ergonomic curves on it that made it feel really good in hand. Almost like pistol grips really. However, in practice, with my smaller hands, they did lead to some cramping here and there. The McLaren rim still has some of the cramping, but not nearly as much. Despite being 8mm shorter, and thus have less physical leverage, I feel myself putting less effort in getting the car to do what I want to do with this rim. The ergonomic curves on the McLaren rim are a lot more subtle but are absolutely present. Overall, I do prefer the McLaren rim over the Track. It's much easier to grip using my small hands.

I am aware that the Momo GT Racer 290 exists as well, but don't own it so I can't make any comparison here.

RogueRacing Designs 330mm round wheel

With respect to round-ish wheels, I own many:
  • Logitech RS round rim (290mm)
  • Logitech D-shaped rim (300mm)
  • Momo Sim GT 320 (320mm)
  • SimPush 330mm round rim (330mm)
  • RogueRacing Designs 330mm round rim (334mm)

IMG_8559.webp

SimPush 330mm rim on top, RogueRacing 330mm rim on bottom

The RogueRacing rim is the largest that I own, it comes in slightly larger than the advertised 330mm which I have no issues with; I wanted a large rim. Ergonomically it feels levels ahead of what the SimPush round rim offers. There is some subtle curvature on the handles of the rim on the backside. The areas where the webbing between your thumb and index finger sit feels quite a bit better than the hard rectangular cuts the SimPush does while the back of the rim actually allows you to grab it much better. It seems that the upholstery is applied directly to the rim core; if there is any sort of foam in between it's very thin (and might as well be absent). This is something the SimPush has too. The RogueRacing rim is a little heavier than the SimPush as well. In use, you really don't feel it though. One thing I did notice with the RogueRacing rim is that he 6 holes on the face of the rim are drilled nearly to size, so there is very little gap for the bolts to go in. I thought they might have been drilled too small at first, but they do fit in.

IMG_8560.webp

Back screws that hold the rim together are visible. They don't get in the way of use for me, YMMV. I just realized the paddles got loose during use.

The construction of the rim seems be in multiple parts, the top, bottom, and sides. Each of these parts is split into 2 with the halves screwed together; the screws are visible from the back side. Like the SimPush, the three screws that go into the back of the rim to reduce flex are not present on this rim.

IMG_8562.webp

The three screws that secure the RS Hub to the back of the rim are missing as the holes have not been drilled for them.

Comparing to the Momo rim, this is the larger rim which is its main selling point. The flex on the top of the rim doesn't exist on the RogueRacing; it's a common complaint with the Momo, but it's never really given me any issues. Outside that, the Momo is the better rim. If are happy with the 320mm the Momo is absolutely the better buy. The ergonomics of the rim feel so much better and you can actually squeeze the rim a bit as the upholstery has a bit of give. It doesn't feel like you're trying to squeeze hard plastic.

The one major thing that RogueRacing does have is that the wheel's design is to your spec. I chose black leather hand grips with the top and bottom using dark grey Alcantera with a red centering ring up top. I probably should have done black Alcantera, but it was kind of hard to tell how dark grey and black were in the preview. Despite that I am happy with the way the wheel turned out; it does look good.

IMG_8563.webp

Picture of the rim's face with the RS Hub.

Now we get to the massively problematic parts which will likely stop me from ever purchasing another product from them again. They originally quoted 4 to 6 week turnaround to get the rim. I ordered the rim on October 13, 2025... It delivered today, March 24, 2026. It took over 5 months for them to make and send me a rim. During that time I was given lots of fake promises of refunds and a comped rim. Neither of which ever came to light. Constant chasing them via email where they consistently ignored the first email I would send before responding after I followed up to myself a week later. Their customer service was abysmal in my opinion, and that would be an understatement. If you truly need a 334mm rim with good (not great) ergonomics and are happy waiting to get a rim eventually with little communication in between... Go for it. If you do decide to go this route, check with whatever payment system you're using for the maximum number of days before you can request a refund and set a reminder maybe 5 days prior to that... that was the mistake I made.

I understand that these rims are made to order. I've purchased rims that are made to order. The turnaround time for that rim was nearly 1/8 what this was.

This one is kind of a difficult one. Do I like the rim? Yes. Will I continue using the rim as my primary? Yes. Would I purchase another one? Probably not unless they set up a system where you put down a small refundable down payment (say 50 bucks) with the rest charged after they send proof of rim in hand.

You must be very strong :). I really need to add significant more force to put it in 7th or reverse. You sure your item is not broken or something?

Shifter was waiting for me when I got home, promptly set it up. My idea to clamp them side by side was a fail since the shifter bodies are wider at the top than the bottom, so I cannot secure them with the clamps side by side on my ancient rig even with the extension plates I bought, just not stable enough. I set them up on a single clamp from to back, but using the sequential shifter is not ideal in this setup because my seat is too forward to comfortably pull back on it. This is down to my rig being old and not very adjustable sadly, no fault of the shifter. Even the shifter mount itself is only really strong enough for front/back force, going side to side through the H pattern has a bit of a wobble which makes hitting the right gate a bit tougher than it should be, so I may end up putting them back on their own clamp and having to mount one at a time swap as needed. The shifting does feel good, though now the weakest link must be the clutch pedal which leaves a lot to be desired with progressive feel. Overall happy to finally have the option at least.
