Hi all,

Hopefully we are some that would like to contribute to this thread. Dedicated to sharing tips, tricks and settings for the Logitech RS50 wheel base and wheels.

The current recommended GT7 settings for the Logitech RS50 by Logitech are…

- - -

Gran Turismo 7 (Road Cars)
Strength:8
TF Audio: 100
FFB Filter: 6
Dampener: 20
Angle: Default (Is set automatically per car (by GT7)

Compatibility Mode: RS

Gran Turismo 7 (Gr.X Cars)

Strength:8
TF Audio: 100
FFB Filter: 6
Dampener: 20
Angle: Default (Is set automatically per car (by GT7)
Compatibility Mode: RS

The list of recommended settings by Logitech can be found here; Logitech RS Racing Wheel Game Settings

- - -

If you have played with alternative settings that gives you a good experience, please share and post here. This also goes for Logitech G HUB or any RS50 related peripherals.

Also a good collection of videos by Logitech to get started - RS50 System for PlayStation

Please note:

Thanks @tinker One thing to remember in your first post is that the in-game settings are very important to show as well. Max Torque at 10 for road cars is fine, but for Gr.x cars that's usually going to result in heavy oscillations, hence the recommendation to set that lower. Of course, if you're fine with oscillations, then do what's right for you 😊

GT 7 in-game settings
Controller steering sensitivity: 0

Force Feedback Max. Torque: 1-10 (test these settings to see what suits you the best)
Force Feedback Sensitivity: 2 (emphasises the feel near the centre of the steering wheel and has no damping effect)

Edit(s):
Changed setting listing to same order as the on wheel-base display.
Added notes regarding GT7 in-game settings. Max. torque and Force Feedback Sensitivity.

Kireth suggest these settings:
Strength:8 FFB:15 Damp:off TF:100; In Game FF:10 Sens:2 TF:100
What's your experience in the difference between the "Standard" settings and these alternative "Raw" settings?

For convenience, also listing the in-game settings below…

KIRETH "RAW"

On RS50 wheel-base settings
Strength:8
TF Audio: 100
FFB Filter: 15
Dampener: OFF
Angle: Default (Is set automatically per car (by GT7)

Compatibility Mode: RS

GT7 In-game settings
Controller steering sensitivity: 0

Force Feedback Max. Torque:10
Force Feedback Sensitivity: 2

Note:
Kireth recommends to leave all in-game vibration functions to "on"

Good tips and inputs from LOGI_Rich. Buried quite deeply on the forum, but is stille very relevant. Some of the more discussed and (at times) ambiguous settings for GT7 ;)

Max. torgue and vibration settings
The Max Torque setting affects the Strength on the wheel.
The Vibration setting affects the TF Audio on the wheel.

Whatever you set either of those to in-game will always be applied when the game starts, regardless of what is set on the wheel. Also remember that the in-game setting acts as a "cap" for the on-wheel settings. Example: if you set Max Torque to 5 then the wheel will only ever produce up to approx 5.5Nm of torque, even if the Strength setting is set to 11Nm. i.e. the on-wheel settings work as sliders within the range set by the in-game setting.

The FFB Sensitivity setting in-game will affect how sharp forces feel around the centre, but have no correlation with anything set on the wheel otherwise.

Controller Steering sensitivity effect
FYI we reached out to Polyphony because some of the things in that YT video seemed incorrect, based on the in-game descriptions of the settings. I'd previously said that the controller sensitivity setting didn't have any effect on wheels and the description of the FFB Sensitivity setting also seemed incorrect, so here's the response from Polyphony:
  • "Controller Steering sensitivity" only affects the pad type controller and has no effect on steering wheels.
  • "Force feedback sensitivity" emphasises the feel near the centre of the steering wheel and has no damping effect.

@tinker
Because of owning the wheel only for a week now and limited driving time, i am just not sure which are the best settings for me.
I have the standard and the Raw settings on different profile settings, but for now i have no clear Favorit.
Not so easy coming from a G923 Wheel, now there are so many different settings to choose.

Exactly. I think we are all quite new to the Logitech RS50. Just like you, I'm also playing around with different profiles and come from a wheel from the pre DD generation. What a difference this makes.

Let's see what we all find, with time and experience :)

Anybody tried this wheelbase with the 30cm D-shaped Gpro wheel? I'm really tempted to get it but Iv wanted the bigger wheel. I wonder if it still feels as good with a larger diameter and the same settings.

To set up this wheel properly, I highly recommend to turn off the TF Audio entirely during the tune up session, since its impact on overall feel is significant.
You can then clearly feel how the filter and dampener affects the FFB. Even then adjust only one value at a time to recognize its effect.
Right after you're satisfied with your preference for these two settings, enable TF and start with the 60 value and increase slightly after few turns to reach the point where it feels right, rather than annoying.

I am currently at Filter 12, DMP 0, TF 75 (in game vibrations 100, torq 3, sens 2), but only drove the GR3/4 cars.
I presume, the GR2/1 will require to create another profile with DMP enabled.

Thanks. Added these tips to the initial post.

Sorry, I may be a bit daft. - not entirely sure about the abbreviations. Is my interpretation below correct?

TIPS: RS50 wheel-base settings
Strength:8
TF Audio: 100
FFB Filter: Set the initial setting to zero. Test and increase setting to your liking
Dampener: Set the initial setting to zero. increase setting to your liking
Angle: Default (Is set automatically per car by GT7)
Compatibility Mode: RS

Note:
Adjust only one value (FFB Filter/Dampener) at a time to recognize the individual effect.
