I got the base, hub, pedals, and playseat all ready to go. But there’s a 3 week delay for the RS round wheel…

Not sure there’s a workaround for that missing part hah

Enjoy!
I happen to have an extra one, haven’t even opened the box they shipped it in…it’s a long story with logitech…but I was going to put it up for whoever wants it maybe dm me

I understand that. What im asking is if an 8nm unit is a noticeable difference from a 5nm unit
You'd have better chance asking in Fanatec topics, where people may have started with the DD+ 5Nm and buy the power boost to reach 8Nm. Logi RS 50 is more an entry point into DD wheels, I guess most people here come from older belt-driven Logi wheels or no wheel at all.

The answer is that, yes, 8Nm is a substantial upgrade from 5. But it’s not the whole story: Trueforce is the other major part of the equation that the GT DD simply doesn’t have.

is the 8 nm of the RS 50 a noticable difference from 5 nm of the Fanatec DD Pro ?
I’ve gone from a Fanatec DD pro with boost pack (8NM) to the RS50. Wow RS50 so much nicer and connected to drive. Build quality is so much more solid, loving it so far
I agree. At times I play with a friend who has a Fanatec DD (8nm) wheel with the Porsche VGT wheel. Both the Fanatec and the RS50 are good wheel bases. Perhaps I'm (by now) too used to the RS50? - but i definitely prefer the RS50 with GT7. The Fanatec Porsche wheel is very nice.

great deal on amazon.es

@LOGI_Rich true force is still failing on ps5 since latest firmware. Hasn't happened as frequently, but about 18 laps into the Road Atlanta practice I was doing for its race it faded out.

PS4 mode still the way around this?

Sharing some thoughts and settings on the RS50, as this seems to be the dominant thread for it..

Been casual sim racing for over 20 years. My last Logitech wheel was a G25 in around 2006.

Changed from a CSL DD 8nm/T-Lcm pedals/Fanatec CS shifter, using DriveHub for PS5 compatibility. Expected it to be a side-grade, but wanted native PS5 support without a huge budget. Ordered the RS50 box set (only way I can see to get a wheel hub with PS5 button labels) + RS pedals/clutch/RS shifter.

My expectation that it would be a side-grade, was so very wrong.

First up, settings. Updated the firmware and configured a wheel preset with the recommendations from Logitech (20 damper, 6 filter, strength and trueforce at maximum). GT7 in-game using 10/1 for road cars, anywhere between 5/1 - 9/1 on race classes.

Its the best Gran Turismo experience I've ever had, without doubt. Appreciably I was using a janky method before, but the differences mostly come from elsewhere. Trueforce genuinely is a game-changer for haptics. Understeer feels closer to the real world, curbs feel natural, the road surface sensation isn't just a shake at the centre of the wheel. The recommend settings 'just work' without changing filters and unnatural shaking on the straights.

More broadly including a bit of iRacing and AMS2 testing, there's much less feeling of cogging during rotation. Oversteer in particular feels better, smoother with more pronounced peaks as the tyres fight to regain traction. The strength is deceptive, it doesn't feel like there's any fade as the CSL DD does if your in a long sweeper (lower sustained torque on the Fanatec?). It gives an impression of punching above its specs.

Pedals are a bigger upgrade than expected. The feeling is very good, if a bit soft for me on the brake. Going to try some Heusinkveld elastomers and see if they fit.

GT7 throttle can finally be made linear using these pedals. Plug them into a PC (bypass the wheelbase), set the throttle sensitivity to 75 and save to the pedals. This works nicely against the non-linear pedal curve the game uses. If you use the wheel for other console titles it will mess them up, I think only one profile of pedal settings can be saved on the hardware. Using a different Ghub profile on PC overrides the pedals stored settings so they remain linear elsewhere.

Don't love the round rim, the material is very nice but the stitching is uncomfortable at thumb resting points. Would like to try some other options here.

Hope there will be a 'pro' version of the hub in the future, adding clutch paddles. Miss the two-way shifter paddles from the Fanatec McLaren rim too.

Keeping an eye out for the new H shifter, soon I hope!
