Has anyone else found the side dials to be a pain to manage mid race? Would love if one permanently did TC and the other fuel mix, or one just one was aways was Fuel and the other was changeable mid race. Has anyone had any success with that? Any other tips with custom button mapping?

In GT7 there's no way to remap the dials themselves, unfortunately. The functions that are on the dials can be mapped elsewhere, but that's about all you can do.

i find at times to adjust TC by 1, then suddenly spin out and see that it changed to zero, or I adjust brake bias and it keeps changing after. I now adjust and turn screen to the radar

Same, and then end up turning it too much and overshoot what I wanted to select. The rotary dials also spin almost too freely, I wish there was more resistance with each click. Would make it easier to make fine adjustments in the middle or a race.

Otherwise, driving feels excellent and am really enjoying it.

All it’s missing is adding gear change effect to TF and it would be close to perfect for me.

It's been an issue in GT since it launched. Polyphony have made improvements since then, but I can't make any representations on their behalf as to whether they will continue to address it.

It is indeed a pain in the ass, as you can see from previous messages in this thread.

According to @LOGI_Rich this falls on PD.

However, I haven't owned other wheel brands (not even the G pro) with rotary dials to see if theirs behave more snappy or suffer from the same lag as the RS50 ones.

Oh no, the issue that used to happen was that the game didn’t pick up every click, so we addressed this by ensuring every click got picked up. We maybe went a bit too far with that, so the next firmware update will make the rotaries more sprightly.

The issue, as I experience it, is lag. You turn the rotary and see nothing adjusted on screen (e.g. TC), so if you keep dialing it while trying to keep you focus on the actual race, all of a sudden, when the input is transferred on screen, you usually end up with a higher setting than desired,e.g. TC4 instead of TC1.
So I have to slooowly (too slowly for what should be a muscle memory adjustment) dial the rotary to make sure I don't overshoot the desired setting.

My clicks are recorded, but they lag on screen.

I think that cure is worse than the disease - it's better to have some unregistered clicks and see the effect instantly than current solution, I believe. Maybe with the new firmware you could give users some settings to decide?

You see, you say that, but we had endless amounts of people complaining about missed clicks 🙂

No adjustability needed: the next firmware will tune it better.

For now, the trick is to count your clicks. You should never be adjusting things more than a a couple of clicks at a time usually.

So after 3 years with my trusty G29 with truebrake mod I finally bit the bullet yesterday and ordered the RS50.

Was hoping it would be available to pick up yesterday (Saturday) but its looking more than likely it will be tomorrow. Which kinda sucks because I was looking forward to getting some practice with it today.

I noticed in the button mapping settings that there is no option for the RS50. I'm led to believe that you need to do it through the GPro section.

Also is there anything else I need to know about setting it up?

Just spent a few hours with it and it's night and day from the G923. I see why people wear gloves, it's tough on the hands. But it's so satisfying. 10/10

After a bit of a mission to get it on my stand (drill new holes, trip to hardware store for extra washers) I've finally got it going.

I can see it's going to take me a bit to fine tune, which is a bit difficult because I usually race in VR so testing on the flat screen again sucks.
