Hey guys Im new to the forums and the game, I have only completed 12 or so cups but I would like to join a online racing league with some friends.
Every week there is a different scenario and I am extremely unexperienced yet, barely have cash and dont really know what cars have what potential in the game. Plus many are still inaccessible since I am only level 9.

So basically, if anyone is willing to help, for next week the race scenario is as follows:

-4 cylinder, HP is unlimited. 5 laps of the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

What car is affordable and decent for that track/has good tuning potential? I am not that great of a driver yet so really if I had the best car I wouldnt be able to push it to its full potential.

Any input or tips are greatly appreciated 👍

First off, how many credits do you have to spend in total? Including the price of the car and tuning mods.

Lotus elise. You can race mod it and as long as you're running decent tires it handles like a dream.

Your best bet would probably be one of the Lancers, or maybe an Impreza. I'm pretty sure you can get one of them in the level you are currently at. There are some gems that occasionally pop up, but then you have to worry about seeing them in the used car dealership before you need them.

Buy the Amuse S2000 GT1. 600hp in a lightweight RWD chassis with a 4 cylinder turbo engine.

Whoops, forgot you are only level 12. Sorry that car requires level 21.

AWD - Lancer Evo or Scooby STI
MR - Lotus Elise
RWD - S2000

Which direction you chose depends on your driving skill really.

^ That's actually a pretty good idea. It would just be a matter of being able to find one available between now and when he needs it.

Not cheap. Certainly not available at Level 9. Certainly not the easiest car to drive fast.

What would be of great help would be if you could advise how much money you have available to spend on a car and tuning?

Also, what cars do you currently own, you might already have something that could just be tuned, and be better value for money than buying another car???

If he's low on cash he should do some of the online bonus races. That's the easiest way to get a lot of money and experience.

You really need to tell us the amount of total $$ you wanna spend on the car and mods. $20k? $40k? $100k? This matters ALOT.

Mugen Civic race car :)

^This.

It may not have the highest output power (off the bat) but it handles extremely well and can be used for multiple races. It's a "free" car, other than the car you need to have in order to win it.

I think we're in the same league...
Settled on anything? I'm having trouble tuning suspension on smth I thought I settled on, and might use some alternative suggestions as well.

AWD: and Evo or Impreza is great, if you can find one the Celica GT-FOUR '98 is fun to.
MR: MR2 GT-S '97, handles great and has some guts, and you don't see it all the time
RWD: Toyota AE86 is a blast to drive (MID RANGE TURBO), or a Nissan S13/S14/S15, makes great power and handles.
FF: Mitsubishi FTO GP '97, Mitsubishi Eclipse GT '06, Honda Civic R EK '97, or the Toyota Corolla Runx Z Aerotourer '02. FF cars require a bit of tuning but can be massive amounts of fun.

Well, the JGTCs ran four cylinder engines (the '97 Castrol Tim's Supra, for example). However, those aren't available at early levels, and they're pricey.

personally, I'd go with the Subaru Impreza STi Sedan '10. 37'000 Credit and is insanely fast. With sports softs and an oil change, it runs ~7:45 around the 'Ring, which is quite impressive, compared to other cars in it's price and power range. A lot better than the Evos, at least.
More importantly, it's quite easy to handle and, therefore, makes it easy to drive it fast and be consistent. Doing fast laps consitently is what I'd go for, especially in case of a driver with little experience.
Also, it's relatively light compared to other modern cars and has a decent transmission.

Throw some more power and a weight reduction at it, and you're looking at a rather competitive ride, I'd imagine.
Plus, it looks quite good in black with bronze Prodrive rims 👍

The Subaru Impreza WRX STi Somethingsomething '05 should be decent as well, and as far as I know, there are a few tunes for that thing, floating around the tuning forums somewhere, which would make it a nice alternative.

He could use that Supra from the recommended cars online :dopey:

Those don't have a level restriction? i never bothered to check... If not, well, that'd be probably the best way to stomp 'em, if it is the '97 one. The newer (2005ish) SuperGT Supras are running V8s.

You are level restricted to buy cars, you can use them big cars even if you are at level 1. And yes, it's the 97 version.

If that's not prohibited by the rules of said racing league, that's the best car he's going to get his hands on.
Should be way more than enough to blow everybody's doors of - unless they think of it themselves :dopey:

Racing Supras are V8 UZ3-powered cars. Stock Supras are inline-6.

As far as nurburgring goes, we are talking about maintaining the speed. In that case what we want is power and imho EVO9 would do the job nicely. Just put some racing hards, make it a bit lower and stiffer and I'm fairly sure you'll put great times even without racing tranny. If that's not enough you may want to try race modding it as it brings down the weight even lower and additional downforce makes it more stable.
