Are you losing interest in GT4?

I'm losing interest in the game. Its not seeming as cool as it did when the first official images were released of it. The game has been taking too long to be released. So i'm losing interest in all results of the game. So, what about you?

Nope, I have "invested" money in a DFP, so it would be a total waste of money if I now choosed to ignore the game.
 
I've got 2 DFP's and they are used for multiple games other than GT3.


I'm talking about the game itself awaiting release. Not the money you invested into it.
 
I don't know, no damage, no Ferrari, no reverse lights, no ice cream trucks, it's looking pretty hard for PD to salvage GT4 into a release worth buying.
 
I think the fact that i'm here at work wasting time looking at GT4 threads in a GT Forum instead of working - pretty much means i haven't lost interest in GT4 yet.

But i know what you mean, you get so imersed in it, gaining all possible snipits of info on the subject - you get to the point where the actual product loses its 'wow' factor. I did the same with the Starwars sequal films before they came out, so when they did relese them i knew so much about them, there were very few supprises - i've now done it with SW EpIII - i already knew the outline of the script almost a year and a half before its due to be released!

Money is a matter for me, and I also give PD all the time they need to complete the game.

If us Americans got it, maybe I wouldn't of lost GT4's "wow" factor.

Exactly, All us US people got is the DFP and GT3 and then the people bragging about GTC and GT4P...

I've seen more than enough, why didn't PD just release GT4P in America!

And some of us never had time to get the Toyota edition one.
 
It seems as if GT4 is a victim of it's own anticipated success, but have I lost interest? No way, Jose! I can wait as long as it takes!
 
Well, it's like this. You either get a complete refined game, or you get something rushed. America is the biggest market for video games. This is why they take their time in releasing games here. We have to realize that the majority of people that are going to buy this game are not into it as much as us.

So, when christmas time comes all the parents of the children see is, New Gran Turismo game. Honestly, almost all parents know about this game just because it's so popular.

How do I feel? I'd rather wait until spring of next year, then to have a flawed game now.
 
I'd have to say no, not yet. But if the game fails to meet it's November deadline, and this question was asked again. I would probably vote the other way. If we had a bit more information on the game then this would keep people interested. All PD have ot do, is drip feed use until it's finally released. A few more pics, or game modes explained woudl help to combat this.

Would not say i am less interested but would indeed say time is at a premium with new baby and stuff.
 
Well I'm certainly bored of waiting, but the game should be great when its eventually released. If it doesn't meet November time I'll be annoyed. :ouch:

Sometimes I do start to loose interest, but then some new scraps of info come out & its restored. Still the latest media hasn't revealed much. Although thats really a good thing (although it doesnt feel like it!) :)
 
I agree, the latest Media hasn't shown the meat yet. But If they do sometime soon, I can download away!
 
I've been playing GT3 for more than 2 years so far, and I'm not bored with it yet. Why should I be bored waiting for GT4?
 
Im certainley not loosing interest, in Gt4.

Gt4p and the DFP have shown how much better a driving game it will be, but what is making me very anxious is the lack of any AI improvement and the lack of any information from PD aabout any Future improvement for The final release.

If GT4 releases and all it turns out to be is a good driving sim with little in the way of a challenge in the 200 or so events, i cant see me completing it, and as this has been a major common criticism of the series, and with the serious length of developement time they have had, if it is not improved i shall be very angry and disapointed and probably lose some interest in the series future.

Even if online mode is good the lack of Improved AI would still hurt.

In Order for GT4 to be a success it needs to have credibility, Gt3 was a show off title graphically and many of us ovelooked the somewhat poor game, it was hyped by everyone and it sold loads.
This time round we are all used to the graphics, the car list is a little interesting, and the track list is getting better, although personally I believe PD should have about 40 new tracks in GT4 and only have 10 of the best old ones at most, to give people that something new to experience, but if it doesnt have much of a challenge, Or offer something truly great, the reviews will be lacklustre, Web/ Forum excitement will be mute, all these elements helped to give GT its reputatuon, and if it ends up not being much better than that which has gone before, GTs credibilty will slide and this could affect sales significantly, if the Buzz isnt there, those that arent Hardcore fans like most of us will be content to pass it bye.
And If Hardcore fans arent impressed then who knows how soon Interest in GT will be gone.

Exactly, when GT first came out there was little or no competition, these days racing/driving sims are plentyful (i know not all are great) unless PD makes GT4 exceptional, they won't attract new fans, and start losing faithful followers.

I agree... Plus the 2005 release...I'm getting Forza first.

also for us north americans it's been a LONG time since GT3 so i'm dying to play a new GT, even for the sake of having new races and new cars to drive... although i still have 2 super license golds to get to finish GT3... damn Laguna in that Viper!!! Still need to shave .150 off my best time argh!! :banghead:
 
If the game is released anytime before November I'm not buying it, I refuse to support game developers who rush things out because they want money. If they rush GT4 I rush to get an illegal copy and cheat them out of $50.
