Are you losing interest in GT4?

also for us north americans it's been a LONG time since GT3 so i'm dying to play a new GT, even for the sake of having new races and new cars to drive... although i still have 2 super license golds to get to finish GT3... damn Laguna in that Viper!!! Still need to shave .150 off my best time argh!! :banghead:

if you like the licence tests in GT3 - then you'll love the 'lessons' in GT4 Prologue - worth the price alone!

- what?, you can't get prologue in the US? :guilty: - oohhh, too bad, what a shame! - you'll just have to wait until November!!!! :dopey:
 
I wouldn't say6 that i was bored rather than just sick of tyhe agonising wait. When the original screens were released i was hoping to be playinbg the game by the end of that year. Now im hoping to be playing by the end of THIS year but have little faith and am expecting the game to be put back at least once. Also is the November realease international or just Japanese/Asia?

For me it is just a wait until november anyway as there are OTHER good games like GTA: San Andreas and NFS:U2 (though they are not nearly as legendary as GT) released that month which will hopefully tide me over until GT4.

As for being kept on a GT4 drip as Jamie said i cant decide. Part of me wants to find out all that i can about every aspect of the game but at the same time i want to be taking the final product home after purchase wondering 'What is it going to be like?' with the exitement building up inside me

I've seen more than enough, why didn't PD just release GT4P in America!

And some of us never had time to get the Toyota edition one.

Toyota edition sux. If that was the final version, GT4 would hve been a flop.

i enjoy the skill needed to gold the licenses in GT3... the previous GTs have been relatively easy in comparison... anyone who says GT3 doesn't have challenge hasn't gone for all gold. I would have liked to have gotten prologue so i could get my DFP and start practicing with the force feedback and 900 steering... but i guess i'll have to wait for GT4 :ouch:

and ya... no prologue, no concept for that matter!!!! :grumpy: :indiff: SCEA are idiots... i know Americans would be confused, but Canadians are much smarter :sly:

Its funny.

PD could of made a boatload of money saling GTC and GT4P in the USA. My question is, why didn't they do it?
 
Its not the fact that I'm bored or have lost interest in GT4......its just that its getting annoying waiting for it because we have heard about it for so long and seen so many tempting snippets of what it includes. We have been teased for soooo long.....but I'm still holdin on.......Bring on GT4!

With regards to waining interest, this is why PD have held back all of the juicy info on the game until nearer release.

Apart frorm the info on the F1 GTR, R89C, C9, Pescarolo cars and the Nurburgring track, there has just been info on updated cars and tracks that we have seen in previous GT games.

The 200 or so cars, and who knows how many tracks still to be announced will include all of the new stuff that we have been waithing for since GT3. We have yet to see anything of the vintage cars for example.
 
Yes, I'm loosing interest in gt4.

But it's not only gt4, I'm rapidly loosing interesting in any type of pc/consol gaming. I'll probably buy gt4, and in many ways it feels like the finisher for me, the last game I'll buy as a celebration of the endless days, weeks, months and years spent with gt123C4P

I'm losing interest in the game. Its not seeming as cool as it did when the first official images were released of it. The game has been taking too long to be released. So i'm losing interest in all results of the game. So, what about you?

I voted for somewhat, I will be buying #GT4 whe it comes out and I still believe it will be the best racing game out there, but during info droughts I tend to lose interest a little and get it back again when a new batch of info comes my way.
 
^ agreed we need some official info stat! Come on PD... give us some screens!!! Give us a full video of the ring, or drop a bomb on us like... here's an official 1 lap vid of Infineon... give us something, anything!!! Although the hacked vids were nice...
 
No, I am not even tired yet of GT3, Concept or GT4 prologue. They are all on top of the PS2 and I switch a lot still !
 
For me, NO even thou I'm tired of playing of GT3, I can't wait what PD is in store of its 'bags of tricks' that can fool everyone.

i am losing interest

no lambos, ferrarris...i've seen pics of new content for a long time now, over a year easily...seems like this game is a past interest, as if its been something i've already finished
 
Well.......It's rather annoying waiting, with the debut being set back time and time again, but I remain hopeful that it will be the best ever.

Nope. I've ctually became more interested. The farthest I got in GT2 was like 30%, so I don't remember the amount of cars. I'm overwhelmed by the 200 cars in GT3, and now there will be 500! :eek: Plus, there will be Nurburgring. I never knew about Nurgurgring until I got PGR2. Now I want to drive on it with good physics. :D
 
I am certainly not losing interest. On the contrary, I am gaining interest as the release date comes closer (suposedly). I am new to this site, so all this information is fresh for me. I don't want to know EVERYTHING that's going to be in the game, as I enjoy being happily surprised, but this site has shown me enough to get me salivating for it.

Too much of ANYTHING will cause a reduction of interest. That's why I mix it up. I come here, see what's new, then go outside (Arrgghhh!! What's that....Sunlight???!!) and race my real car on the weekends. Racing and working keeps me busy enough. GT4 will be here soon enough. :D
 
I manage the point of....
'Must buy but not to worry about the dates.... It come when it comes.....'

I think a non-excited mentality to towards the game now would actually enhance the experience..... I like surprises~ :)
 
It has effected my deeply knowing you have lost interest in the pre-release hype about GT4.
 
Just think of how long you are going to have to wait for the next GT installment beyond GT4. I want GT4 to be huge and to last me easily until the next GT after it... if that means waiting a few more months now then I guess I can live with it.
 
I think the real problem is that Darin has too much time on his hands.

No, my reasoning:

I never was too hyped up about the game. Not to say that I won't be, but for me it's not close enough to release for me to be hyped up. Sure, I would be hyped up if the family would let me pre-order it, but they won't, so I'm staying mellow for tempo....

I know this is an honest question by Florida's Darin, so here's an honest answer. Am I losing interest in GT4? I'm going to say no and here's why.

Even with newbie posts (or should I say "n00b posts") about already-mentioned topics, if it's a little new, I think it's still a nice reminder. I haven't played any Gran Turismo for about a week or more. So, I wouldn't lose interest in GT4 just because of a long wait, sealed lips about details, or what-have-you. Since the first, I've loved the Gran Turismo franchise ever since. When was the last time you've ever heard of a gaming franchise that's lasted this long and has such a fanbase? GT came out WAY before Metropolis Street Racer, which would later become Project Gotham Racing, if my gaming history is right. The only thing PGR has over GT is online play. GT is unexperienced online, so trying to knock off the XBOX will be a challenge when it comes to gameplay and online gameplay. The graphics will show you that the PS2 is not outdated and that there is still life in it until GT5 comes out for the PS3. There is plenty to do and see in Gran Turismo 4 that saying that losing interest in a game that's taking this long is quite irrelevant and pointless. And PLEASE do not say "I don't get it. It's just going to be another racing game" when referring to GT4. Hell, I'd rather race a car around a track than owning somebody in SOCOM 2.

Gran Turismo 4 will hopefully be a very wonderful game no matter what anyone daresay. It's a beautiful game that looks pretty close to reality. Music and such are unknown, but expect nothing less of this title. GT was born seven years ago, and taking it to the future while making it better will be well worth the wait. So if you're losing interest, remember.
