I'm wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them. For the past few months, I've been doing a lot of online racing in Super GT500 rooms and have had decent success. I've won several races and placed in the top 3 consistently against good competition. I've tuned my top 3 cars to the specs for them found in the tuning forum.

This past weekend, I was in several GT500 races Saturday night with usual results. Sunday afternoon, I joined in some GT500 races on the same tracks I raced on the night before. I used the same cars, same transmission settings, etc and I could not keep up with anyone.

Now, these weren't necessarily superb drivers either. Some would spin out or drive off the track in corners and I would get ahead of them. Instead of being able to focus on the next car to pass, within a lap I would see the same cars I passed now right behind me and then blowing by me. By the end, I would wind up way behind everyone and 30+ seconds behind the leader. I tried with each of my top 3 cars (Woodone Supra, GTR Stealth, Xanavi GTR) and got the same results.

My question is, why was I so much slower in this room? What do these guys know about getting speed out of these cars that I don't?

Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you check if the Boost was turned on in the room? This is a leading factor in such an event. Somewhat. Maybe the online glitch played it's part?

I thought about that, but boost is always off in the other rooms I have been in. If boost was on in this room, it seems like it would have kept me closer than I was to the other racers.

Dude don't take it so seriously :) You maybe just had a bad day. Sometimes I actually am in the mood for some racing but when I turn it on I'm just "blaaahhhhh", I don't either bother and I turn it off :) just saying, maybe you had one of those!?

Are you trying to highlight the lag bug? (Its been fixed)👍

I like racing my GT500 cars with stock horsepower and racing hard tires. If I race against people using stage 3 turbo and racing soft tires my car is slower.

Your post didn't provide enough information for anyone to comment on why you were slower.

To your point, I used stage 3 turbo, racing soft tires and the PP limit for the races both Saturday and Sunday were 570+/- if that helps.

Thanks for your suggestions. I'll try these and see what happens.

Who knows, maybe I just left the parking brake on!

If you use a wheel, it could be possible that your pedals were wearing out or acting up. If you drive without telemetry try turning it on and keeping an eye on it.

Otherwise, who knows? Could have been anything.

That's the 1st thing I thought of...

Not necessarily.
People who race with boost on often, & know it's on, know how to get the most out of it.

I had this happen to me a while back in a-spec. Turns out the brakes were slightly engaged even though I was not pressing on the brake pedal. I had to restart GT5 and then the brakes were back to normal.

If this happens to you again, check and see if any braking is being applied even though you are not pressing on the brakes

I know this isn't what your post is about but I'm surprised you can use the Stealth GTR in a GT500 room - I always thought that despite the shape, the car was much better all round than the GT500 equivalent. After all, I don't think it was allowed in the recent Spa B spec event.
