Good idea, sorry to even ruin anyone's day with such vileness, but I figured anyone who might have listened to that band should know about it
 
Terrible. How people like this even come into existence is something I will never understand.
 
I actually used to listen to Lostprophets quite regularly however this story hit pretty hard. Pretty much rid myself of their music on my playlists and computer straight away; I know it's just music and what the members do outside of being a band is somewhat exclusive to that, but Watkins is just a disgusting individual and he's getting what he deserves.

Sheesh I actually just read what this guy had done more specifically... Sheesh, he's really stuffed in the head.

One of the most disgusting things is the fact that he got other people in on it. Fans of the music. Now that is stuffed up.
 
I thought it was just a 1-off incident he was getting done for. Didn't realise how disturbing the story was.
 
I have never wanted to throw up after reading a news article- until now. I'm going to have some serious trouble going to sleep tonight.

Read about that a year ago I think. I erased the only song I had by them "To hell we Ride". Sucks because I loved that song. I don't want anything to do with them on my iPod or phone.
 
After hearing what happened and the controversy surrounding both Watkins and the band, I recently saw a vinyl store selling a Lostprophets album, and I encouraged them to get rid of it due to its dark and shady backstory.

It makes me so sad because of their inclusion in ATV Offroad Fury 2 and Need for Speed, and how much those two games shaped my childhood. I used to try and "excuse" it (wrong word, bear with me) by listening to the instrumental versions because I can't hear Watkin's voice without thinking of what he did, but this is definitely a case of being unable to separate the art from the artist :indiff:

Yeesh, a post from 13 years ago. I know how you feel though. I eventually forgot about their music but still remember the reasons why I cut them out when I see the band name pop up.
 
Never listened to them a single time since, and it's a shame for the other guys, because those first two albums were really good music.
 
I hadn't heard of them prior to discussion on this forum about separating art from the artists, especially regarding political activity, and I indicated that I'm good at it except when an artist perpetrated truly heinous acts. And then I forgot about them. Probably not in my wheelhouse to begin with, I guess.
